You could stack a few flat rocks on top of one another to create a natural looking waterfall. It will also disperse the water and break up the noise of splashing H2O, u might hold it together with silicone cement.
A few guppies would be cool, they are slow (fancy tail males), and it teaches him to hunt
Yea I was thinking about adding the waterfall but it’d take up a lot of space from his enclosure which is already small, so I’ll have to see
I think you should put more enrichment like put some hides and fake plants and toys and things like that

How old is he? I found one in my yard and are getting a tank.
If u put feeder guppies or other feeder fish called Rosey Reds, he will start hunting on his own. It may stink up the water a bit. My turtle would hunt his fish and rip them up with his nails. Made a smelly mess but he was very happy. I love ur animals!

Will you be giving him a UVB and a Heat bulb?
Most turtles need UVB lamps for the health of their shells, but snapping turtles are an exception and get all of their UVB requirements from their diet. However, they will still benefit from a multi-spectrum lighting system. Water needs to be 75-78 Fahrenheit so no need for heat lamps either. I will have him in an outdoor enclosure where he can get natural sunlight as well. He’ll be in and out of this enclosure.
