I think it's also important to mention that all turtles are different and it's important to pay attention to behavior and habits of your individual turtle to understand what they need, how much to feed them, what they prefer in they're enclosure, etc

My son found a painted baby turtle also in a pool they were closing for the winter. He took it home and then had to move , and had nowhere to keep it. So I ended up taking it. Cause it was too cold already to let it go. Still winter here so I was wondering if someone wants it or is it ok to let it go in the spring? Next I just heard they're not legal to keep in New York.

We had a red eared slider named Bob, for 12 years. He got pneumonia and died a month ago. He was so aggressive and angry, he would bite your fingers and attack his dock and his heat lamp.
We’re getting a new southern painted baby turtle. I’m excited. A new friend back! You don’t realize how lonely you are once your buddy goes to the big pond. I used to just talk to him like I do my dogs or humans. I always joked he got the best tv and music around. Thanks for this video, I’m so excited for a new friend! We have a 56 gallon so there’s wiggle room for him or her to grow!

Our baby turtle did not make it. His shell was hard, his eyes were clear, the fish living in his tank as well are healthy and the waters appropriately warmed to his liking and no odd smell or odor. He just didn’t make it. 🥺 we’re not going to get another. It’s just so sad when the pets go, especially when you don’t understand why.

All we want to do is make sure they are ok as newborns. If we take them to AC, they will just be put down.

Hi Dan. Can you advise me on caring for baby land tortoises? Mine are RED-FOOTED tortoises, I believe they are called in Enlish. I live in the French Caribbean, and here they are referred to as MOLOKOI, or CHARBONNIÈRE À PATTES ROUGES. One of my 4 eggs hatched this morning. I have them in a cat litterbox that I made into an improvised incubator with fine earth and a touch of donkey manure. This was 6 months ago. I took it out of the litterbox and put it in a very small empty cardboard box with a bit of water in a jar cover. (They can drown in very little water.)No food. However, I feel to put it back in the litterbox with some hibiscus branches for it to hide under. These turtles love to eat hibicus leaves as well as various tropical fruit. Should I provide food for it this early? Thank you for any advice you can provide.

My dad thought the eggs of the turtle didn't fertilized so he threw one and the turtle's head came out and it was moving but I think it wasn't ready yet to come out. What should we do?? I feel really bad:(

Not sure what kind I have...someone gave my friend this and she said it was too hard to keep clean water, I have a fish tank so I am going to learn about it and raise it - can you help me figure out the type of turtle? I can send a picture.
