    I think it's also important to mention that all turtles are different and it's important to pay attention to behavior and habits of your individual turtle to understand what they need, how much to feed them, what they prefer in they're enclosure, etc

      My son found a painted baby turtle also in a pool they were closing for the winter. He took it home and then had to move , and had nowhere to keep it. So I ended up taking it. Cause it was too cold already to let it go. Still winter here so I was wondering if someone wants it or is it ok to let it go in the spring? Next I just heard they're not legal to keep in New York.

    We had a turtle lay eggs in our front yard. It’s the red eared slider. This has helped getting a temp setup for them before we take them to the pond. The mom came from the pond, so they are wild. All we want to do is make sure they are ok as newborns. If we take them to AC, they will just be put down.

    • @Anime_Dono
      @Anime_Dono 3 года назад +3

      @@mayamurphy6834 a baby is about the size of a quarter if you buy it so you won't need a container more than 10 gallons but turtles can drown so honestly you'll need like a plastic container maybe like 10 in wide and like 1 in to 1 1/2 in for water so they don't drown. Also you'll need something they can get on top of and bask on. I use a rock that's taller than the water height and make sure he can climb on top of it. I got my rock from my yard but not all rocks are safe so you'll have to test it with vinegar and if it bubbles then the rock is no good but if it doesn't then you can use the rock. There is another way to test if the rock is safe but I forgot what it is but you can Google it. You'll also need a uvb light above where it's basking which you can find at the pet store or on Craigslist. I personally don't have one for my baby since I only have one and use it for my adult turtle and I would have bought another one however I take my turtles out of their tank a lot and let the walk around my house and outside freely, when I can watch them, so they are already getting from the sun what they would have gotten from the lights

    I need real help please, I was given a turtle from my science teacher and I have no clue what type she is. When I was given her I was under the impression she was a single turtle, her tank was straight black and and when I cleaned everything up there was a small baby in there as well, what’s the best way for me to take care of them and to figure out genders and everything
