Man, I can totally understand how easy it is to fall in love with snappy. Near the end of your talk he had turned around and was looking right into his humans eyes... There's a different kind of intelligence about reptiles but it's no less than for animals we have an easier time relating to. Just amazing stuff :))
I agree, there is a lack of worry and an acceptance of 'this is how it is' i see in reptile eyes a lot. It's like, a ignorant is bliss mixed with wisdom vibe to me.
Snapping turtles raised as pets for me, I never was bit. Kids were killing the babies and I found one left and raised it till it was big enough to released. These pr ehistoric animals deserve the respect
Outstanding, I'm glad Snappy has a great life. I just pulled on off the highway , just a few days ago, pushing him across the street , got is ire up, but he's still alive & that was the goal. He was about 10 inches long, biggest one I've ever seen & he had the moves... I'm too old for another pet... I just turned 81, can't hardly get around...
I really liked how you explained how warm blooded animals consuming so much energy also has other affects!! I was just thinking about it the other day, it's nice to hear it articulated so well. Awesome video and I love snappy :D
Y’all have such an incredible company and have created so many eco systems I enjoy seeing on other channels too. It’s always beautiful and interesting!!
Haha it’s kind of crazy, my boyfriend’s sister’s boyfriend (really didn’t know how to word that) had a pet snapping turtle that was so chill. He’d take it out the tank and just let it walk around the house! Never bothered anyone and would even let you pet it. Even at parties with unfamiliar people it would just be chillin
Are they really smart? Seriously, I never had a Turtle, so I really have no idea of their intelligence. But I've heard people say that some turtles are smart. How? Do they know their names, do they know their owner, can they show affection, do they show emotions? I'm curious.
That’s incredible. Another amazing project by the Ed master. I’ve never seen that before so tame but I would still be careful please that snapper can do some damage if you wanted to.
Such an awesome indoor setup!! I’ve got 2 small Sulcata tortoises. When they get bigger im going to build them a large enclosure outside in my front yard. I’ve been thinking of getting some common or gator snappers and building something in my backyard.
Snappy definitely has the penthouse! It is very sad to see how much habitat lose there is. We are stewards of this world. Always leave it the same or better.
I have a pet common snapping turtle, shes a female and shea almost 4, each winter even though i have her inside she still goes into that hibernation type mode...is this normal? Does snappy go into that hibernatint mode?..she hasent broke out of that mode yet this year yet but she has not ate anything since december.....i know thats normal for them but its worries me...its always about 65 to 70 in my house, why does she still go into that hibernation mode
I have a ten acre stream/ pond and one came up on my land. I ran down to catch it and it got up and ran.on two legs opposing front left rear right then opposite. It's cleared rip rap rocks and launched itself. It was moving. Don't think they are slow or you will get surprised and their bite is super fast can stick that neck out like a snake strike.
He kinda looks like a big, reptilian basset hound. I'd love to meet a snapper like that. The wild examples I've encountered seemed rather indifferent to my presence, but I didn't attempt to pet them, or anything.
No, i think it legitimately doesn't want to. Snapping turtles may only snap for food or self defense. This one has no fear of humans and in the video they explain it is just getting active. Cold blooded animals need heat to gradually get active and to digest. So, it has no fear of humans, it is just waking up, and it isn't hungry. No need to spend any energy snapping.

Do you think Snappys new home will give him a better quality of life?
It sure will! Happy, and healthy. I cannot believe how friendly he is! A one of a kind snapping turtle that deserves the good life.
The natural biological balance will definatley add to his life quality. So glad I could be part of this major improvement.
No Brainerd there pal!
Cant believe how friendly he is!!!
Yessss❤❤❤
Snappy is one cool turtle. That is a fantastic home you made for him.
He’s Incredible!!!

I had no idea these guys could be this well socialized. Reptiles continue to surprise me.
No way a snapping turtle can be friendly! I cannot believe it so far!
I know?!?!
It’s crazy!!!
Mine is the same way. It is true.
look up Gizmo he is a friendly Snapping turtle and Gizmo acts more like a dog than a turtle its funny
@@SIyMarbo friendly snapping turtle sounds like 'giant enemy spider' but actually it's friendly. (P.s. ty, I'll look up. I think I've seen Gizmo once)

Ed this video was amazing thanks so much for sharing as always Snappy and his new habitat is awesome 🥰
Snappy beautiful baby ❤
There are other friendly snappers like Gizmo,Tank and my girl Spot. They’re incredibly intelligent creatures
Yup. My girl is laid-back as well. Get them small and handle them a lot and most will trust you. Mine will be going into her pond when it warms up.
Unfortunately their general genetic disposition seems to be semi friendly, even though they are efficient killing machines. 😊
Are they really smart? Seriously, I never had a Turtle, so I really have no idea of their intelligence. But I've heard people say that some turtles are smart. How? Do they know their names, do they know their owner, can they show affection, do they show emotions? I'm curious.

Snappy's a real homie
Snappy definitely has the penthouse! It is very sad to see how much habitat lose there is. We are stewards of this world. Always leave it the same or better.
Had one as a kid about 3-4 inches wide that wouldn’t bite anything but food the clutch mate would occasionally snap at you through the tank
Sorry, I have the world’s nicest Snapping turtle.😌
BUT Snappy here looks like he is the most gentle soul of any Snapper.🥰
Snappy was meant for you and you were meant for him . He is a wonderful boy. My kids will get my box turtle.
This was awesome !
yet another animal species evolved enough to figure out how to exploit humans for maximum laziness 😂
That turtle isn't snappy it's. A cute little buddy I love turtles
Snappy is the greatest!!!
Would the turtles' claws puncture a vinyl pond liner, especially one that large?
Love it! Greetings from Turkey
Great Video
I love that he doesn't bite
My first thought when placing Snappy into that beautiful pond was... "Does anyone have a giant turkey baster?"
What brand is the pond liner?
That's really cool man I bet he's truly a life long pet hell he might outlive his owner
He’s so cute
It’d be believable if the turtle was nice to his owner but the fact he lets anyone touch him is incredibly
very cool 😎 great job
What. Awesome turtle
0:37 😂
What kind of green tubs are they? Are they available to purchase online?
Amazing turtle
this one time dog REALLY doesnt bite 😂😂
Does he have a UVB source ?

Did he Turtle wax that shell? It's sho is shiny.😂
Is his shell curling?
What is a snapping turtle, which doth not snap?
found Gizmo’s father lol
Gizmo is another uncommon friendly snapper
That's not a common snapping turtle. That's just a dog with a shell :)
Awesome! Do you have any idea of the size of this turtle? Looks pretty big.
i saw hes face happy
Does he have slight malocclusion?
Are we sure this is a snapping turtle and not a puppy?
Lol didn’t realize ufo aliens like aquascaping! Maybe they like our fish better than their own!
Then one day while sitting in his lap, Bill was down to one testicle
How old is snappy?
I would pick up small sliders and this big turtle would come to defend the small other types. It is obviously capable of love
Yes exactly
Why is he so friendly?
I LOVE ME SOME SNAPPY
The owner found snappy when he was 9
