This was my first NFL game. I took my dad. We had so much crap talking to us as we walked to the stadium from the parking lot. We wore our Panthers jerseys but refused to talk crap back, because of obvious reasons.
We had seats right behind the Panthers bench. Everybody behind the benches had to stand to see the action. Good ol Qualcomm 😆
Anyway, I knew my Panthers had to win that game. I couldn't go 0-1 on my first NFL experience. I knew Delhomme would throw the winning TD on the final play. That set the tone for a magical season, until they choked to Arizona in the playoffs.
I still reminisce and cherish the memories from that day and that season.

Had Delhomme stayed healthy in 06 and 07, they would’ve made the playoffs in both years. They easily could’ve made the playoffs in 06 if he didn’t get hurt in those three games. The six seed in the NFC had the same record as them too. In 07, he was off to his best start of his career before he got injured and the Bucs took advantage in a weak division so I would’nt consider 2008 a weird year for the Panthers, it was a year where they finally got back on track before they fell off in 09

Rivers games always come down to having the ball with less than four minutes and down by 4+. Here we are, in san diego, and the QB in that same position is not only wearing 17, but is also playing against the chargers 😂

2008 was a year of transition for the SAN DIEGO Chargers. LT was declining in this year. He was taking some brutal hits nothing like his previous 7 years. They let go of Michael "Burner" Turner and he went on to have some monster years in Atlanta. The Chargers defense was not as disciplined under Ted Cottrell as they were under Marty & Wade Phillips.
Norv Turner was a top offensive mind tutoring Philip Rivers but as a HC he didn't have the detail that Marty did. The Chargers lost in so many brutal ways like this comeback by Carolina. the Ed Hochuli game in Denver. But the 2008 Chargers ended on a roll to make the playoffs. Also F--You Dean Spanos. Worse owner in Pro Sports !!!

Imagine this game happening today, would you kick the PAT or just take a knee? Risk the PAT getting blocked and run back for 2 points and the loss.

Dude, get out! The Chargers had the most blacked out games in NFL history when they were in San Diego. From 2011-2013, by far had that lead. If I can recall correctly, in 2012 they had every single game except one game blackedout. There was even a Monday Night Football game that had to be bought by local businesses or commercial sponsors. They had to buy tickets just so the game could be watched in the local markets. That's pretty fcuking bad! After 2010, fans just quit going to the stadiums. It was pretty pathetic.

@@samw.8734 Yeah thye stopped going cuz Spanos kept threatening to move the team and nothing got done with the stadium situation. When the Chargers were competitive and making the playoffs, the Q was rocking. Now they have 2k fans (maybe) in a soccer stadium with the rest of it empty or rooting for the other team.

@@abruzz0 What you just mentioned has no relevance towards anything. Dean has been threatening that since the 90s. But no! You know what San Diego decided to do instead? They gave the shitty San Diego Padres one over them. You know where their priorities are. The city council could give two shyts about the Chargers. They never rectified anything with Dean. Now Dean moved them to LA. Fcuk SD's stupid corporate @$$holes. You are lucky he didn't move them to Mexico then that would give someone something to bytch about.
