    I think instead of counting threads, measuring top center of the new tie rod end to the edge of where it's threads are inserted would be more accurate. Not all tie rod ends will have the same thread count left to accurately determine distance to where the end is inserted.

    Counting the threads only works if the part taken off is the exact same make and manufacturer of the part you're putting on.. had a lot of auto parts stores they sell you different manufacturing parts so you got to come up with a different concept other than counting threads

    How in the F^$& did your end come out so easily? Did you have to use a torch, pipe wrench or anything to break the ends from the draglinks??

      If it's really stuck, use a jack to put an uplifting pressure on the tie rod between the thread and the ball joiont - then smack the joint sharply with a hammer, from the side, it will easily jump out - if enough lift is applied.... you can use this on any shafts that stick...

    Hey mate. Would a worn out tie rod/drag links ends cause steering to shot left or right?

    • @howtonick2803
      @howtonick2803  Год назад

      It could potentially. The steering box could have excessive play or be worn as well.
