Edd was the best thing about Wheeler Dealers.
Always good. Best Mechanic Edd. Virtually seen all the episodes sometimes three times. Helped me with my home mechanics repairs. Just changed two track rod or tie rod ends
Nice simple and concise video.
A thing i learned to do,
was measure from center joint point and then fix a ziptie at 10cm in from the CJP,
then remove the track rod and replace it,
adjust the length from CJP to ziptie until it is 10cm,
then tighten the track rod

I wish Ed would show us which way he loosed the damn jam nut on the track rod end. Is it the same direction for left and right.

Do you tighten the track rod end ball joints to the manufacturers torque settings Edd? Or do you just tighten by hand to whee you feel it is tight enough?

I absolutely love this model TVR, the V6 sounds so good, only thing wrong with this rig is the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the vehicle....

When you replace suspension arms should you replace rod ends as well?
Might as well , saves you having to do the tracking twice
Start from a fresh base, always do things in pairs if you can
Ha ha! I got caught out once with longer replacements! Since then I've marked the thread e.g. with tape.
Failed my NCT due to worn Track Rod ends.
