- Dozens of Las Vegas-area pets their owners paid to have cremated ended up dumped more than 100 miles away in rural Utah as the Nevada Attorney General’s Office appears to be looking into the now-closed business.

“The greatest potential fine is for littering”? What about FRAUD? Those pets belonged to people who signed contracts to have their pets remains cremated, but they were not!
The customers would have to get together and file a lawsuit!

I'm not a lawyer, but yeah I imagine they can take them to court for paid service never provided with the intention of providing fraudulent services. It'd overall a scam at that point and their doing more than playing with people's money they are playing with their emotions
@@spwan10Exactly. Emotions aside, you pay them to cremate your pet, they are fabricating all of it and pocketing your money. Of course the emotional pain behind this is sickening, but even when viewing it from the cold calculation of the law and how pets are seen as property, it's still fraud.

This is how the law works like it or not, even if you go to court or look up pet court cases they all say the samething you can only sue for very little so in the end it's not worth the time and money for court.

When my dog died from cancer it cost us 600€ to be cremated there's a lot of money in this industry so I'm not shocked to see evil people taking advantage of the owners... More strict regulations needed with regular inspections because this should also come under fraud/theft not just littering as they have taken money

My wife and I are still devastated a year after putting our shitzu down due to brain tumors, I can't even imagine not getting her ashes back or not even getting them back at all... pets are family member's and should be treated as such . So sad for these people and pets 😢

@@havsumorano, it's because the majority of pets that get cremated are done so via the veterinary office. They have large freezers that they store their clients pets in and they get picked up by The Cremation Services or driven there by somebody from the vet's office

@@havsumorano, come on-think about it: do you think most of this pet crematory clients are from people calling them from the phone book after their cat drops dead? Or would it be logical to think that more people who want their pet cremated, euthanize at a vet office? If you euthanize at a vet office, you remember the name of the vet, but likely didn’t choose (or remember) the name of the company who cremated their remains. This comment is saying it would be helpful to know what vet offices used this company, so they can determine if their pet might have been victim to the fraud pet-memory company. Come on, girl… THINK, before you type. Critical Thinking is a valuable skill & young people aren’t practicing it anymore…. 😒

Well in Canada once you put your pet to sleep you pay the vet for cremation.
The facility we work with at the hospital I work at, offers to have you be present during your pet’s cremation process. I’m not sure how many people actually do it but they are one of the only places I have heard of to offer that service
Id be so livid if this happened to me. A few years back our dog passed away and no one wanted to cremated and i was shocked i was like screw all of you ill pay for it myself. That was a member of the family and no way I'm just throwing her out like that.
Similar thing happened to me but we wanted our dog back, issue was no one but me had the money to get him cremated. I footed the bill so our lovely sweet boy could come home.

The number of garbage, shady businesses out here is absolutely ridiculous. People have absolutely no integrity whatsoever today. It’s not about providing good customer service it’s about scammers, thieves and scumbags operating businesses to just steal money and rip people off

A friend of mine worked at a vet clinic. She said NEVER surrender your pets body to the clinic. They literally threw them in the DUMPSTER! Absolutely horrible!!! Shame!! So when I had to put my cat down I chose to get her body immediately afterwards and bury her myself. Can’t trust anyone…
I lost my fluffy baby a year ago and I was devastated. Having her returned to me gave me a little comfort. This would probably killed me. I can only imagine the pain these pet parents are going through. This business owner and whoever helped them deserve sooo much more than a fine. I hope they experience only suffering for the rest of their lives.
I hope something can be done in civil court. This is terrible.

Even if the business was overwhelmed they could have at least cremated multiple animals together. This would not have been the private cremations they likely paid for but at least they would have been cremated rather than dumped like garbage.
And the most the owner of the company gets is a few misdemeanors and a $1000 fine. 🙄

If a person has there pet cremated of course they want there ashes back that's the whole point of having them cremated in the first place.

I lost
My dog aka my son this year after 14 years together. He was with me when I was barely a kid with my bf purchasing my own apartment for the first time and he died surrounded by me, my bf who is now my husband and our kids. I understand their pain. They are not just Pets. They are our family.

I paid extra to WATCH my Goldie go into an EMPTY oven ALONE !! And he turned the oven on, and it roared to life WITH ME STANDING THERE !! I did NOT want to see her bones, so I didnt watch that part, SO IF I DIDN'T ACTUALLY GET MY DOG'S REMAINS AND THAT MEANS THAT THAT GUY IS JUST MESSED UP, because it was like the next day that I came back to get her ashes... In an expensive urn too ! With The cremation service paying extra to make sure she goes in alone, SO I GET BACK ONLY MY OWN DOGS REMAINS, I didn't want to get a mixed bag of someone's iguanas foot, a wing of a cockatiel named Tweety, some random Labradors head, and a tail from a cat named Fluffy ! All together it cost me $520 she was worth it

This is why I chose the facility that I did. It allowed you to witness the process. There is always a story about something like this happening. And once is one time too many already.
Near where I live there is a pet cemetery and a crematorium. Over the years I’ve taken many family pets there. They do charge extra for a witness cremation from start to finish. They allow me to stay until the process is completed. I don’t mind paying extra money because I get a peace of mind knowing I’m receiving the ashes of my pets and on the same day. I just don’t trust pet hospitals when they told me they can cremate and send me the ashes weeks later.

I think it is wrong but the decomposition is natural. It does not matter to the pet. They are dead. It matters to the person who loved them, trusted the company and paid for a svc.

I have four rescues. What I find strange is everyone is outraged about these pets, but what about all the thousands of dogs and counties murder and do what with? Thousands of sentient beings murdered and tossed aside. When are people going to start demanding that counties stop murdering healthy dogs and cats .
