This video was 1985. Love this one. I could listen to it every day. I've been in love with this band since 1982. & I own a bunch of it. Best vocal in the business EVER.

There is only one thing better than reliving the 80s through the music, and that is to see young people today discovering the wonderful music that we old people got to experience when we were young.

And not only that, but people who’s usual type of music is a total different genre, I’ve seen rockers, and metal heads react to a-ha and been blown away, still some now who expect a-ha to be all synth so get disappointed when reacting to their other styles.

I loved this song when it was first released! It was wonderful to dance to, but it also carried a soulful message, "Touch me, give all your love to me!" I have a sentimental heart, and such was this tune's effect on me.

As good as Take on Me is, this is a much better song - much fuller sonic landscape.
    Thanks for reacting!!!

hello and thankyou for reacting to A-HA. In 1985 a norwegian trio of men released a song to the world called take on me everybody knows it because of the video the comic book comes to life video and the sun always shines on tv is the follow up well in 1985 i was 26 years old and i fell hard for A-HA. i’m 54 now and still love them just as much as i did back then. It’s been 37 years of following A-HA and i haven’t regretted a single second of it. A-HA have and continue to produce the soundtrack to my life. They are criminally underrated and unappreciated especially in the states where they are considered one hit wonders but tell me how many one hit wonders do you know that have released 11 albums of magnificent music over the years?. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this song it’s one of my all time faves of A-HA but i have many many more. i hope you’ll check out more of their music you won’t be disappoints. i think one of the things that’s made me follow A-HA for so long is that their music is constantly evolving and changing and no two A-HA songs sound the same. Thanks again Take care 😘 ❤️🇳🇴❤️A-HA FOREVER❤️🇳🇴❤️

Quite frankly, always felt this was their best song. As a video , the church setting and mannequins, is metaphorically dramatic.

These guys has been with me for the absolute most part of my life,i remember when they had theyr breakthrough in the US with Take On Me,followed by The Sun Always Shines On TV and other hits from theyr debut album Hunting High And Low 1985. Theyr follow up album in 1986 Scoundrel Days had just as many hits, and is considered one of the best norwegian albums through history, but it never made any big headlines over in the US,even if they had several American instrumentalists play on the record and aimed high with it.
Morten Harket on lead vocals holds the Guinnes World Of Record for longest sustainable note in a pop song, that came much much later, with the song Summer Moved On from theyr 6th studio album Minor Earth Major Sky,released during the summer of 2000. This was after the bands "healthy break over a few years, where the members got to pursue theyr own solo material during the bands break".
Paul Waaktaar-Savoy on the guitar (hes a multi instrumentalist) also fairly early on in theyr career, connected with and married a Boston born woman (also an artist) named Lauren Savoy, now named Lauren Waaktaar-Savoy. They wanted to keep both family names, carrying both sides with them in the name of love. Each family side blessed the couple and the marriage,so the couple both have a top apartment in New York City, where Lauren has lived most her life. And so that the couple can more easily be in contact with Laurens family. They also have a huge villa looking home in and around Oslo,Norway,so that the couple can more easily stay in contact with Pauls family too.
They married in 1991,and Lauren through Paul explained that thanks to Morten dressing up Paul,Lauren noticed him right away. Morten has always been interested in clothes, but he never follows any fashion. Like he says: "I just like to mix up different colours and different types of fabric, whatever i feel like looks good with my own eyes". Well,Mortens fashionista abilities hooked Paul and Lauren up. So in other words,Morten is that perfect wingman.
Paul and Lauren has a grown up son together, wich also has went into mom and dads footsteps and does music. If you are interested in checking him out, here is a good, fairly recent song by him: True August - Breathing Room
If you want to hear Lauren sing in Paul and Laurens sideproject band Savoy, search for: Savoy - Star (Im Not Stupid Baby)
Its a song Paul and Lauren wrote for eachother,i think this is abit more from Laurens side,as she wanted to thank Paul for becoming a part of her life, and being so amazing to her family....all that. They won a Norwegian grammy for this song and theyr first debut album together!
The sad thing is that the US and some other countries still look at A-ha as 1 hit wonders, when the truth is entirely different. The quality of hits after hits, the production, the instrumentals, the vocals, the composing of songs, the song writing skills is just on another level.
Here is a recommended list of absolute bangers, slow or fast paced: A-ha -Train Of Thought (its said to be better then Take On Me and Sun Always Shines On Tv,for many), a-ha - I've Been Losing You, a-ha - Touchy! (Official Video), a-ha - You Are the One (Music video is shot in *drumroll* New York! Rumours has it,that this was theyr first meeting with New York and that its was the seed that lead to Paul and Lauren meeting eachother,no puns intended) a-ha - Move To Memphis,a-ha - Manhattan Skyline,a-ha - Hunting High and Low,a-ha - The Blood That Moves The Body,a-ha - I Call Your Name .....want me to keep going?
Theyr hit list is never ending! So Rolling Stone Magazine? You are WRONG!
a-ha has been together for 41 years and still counting, never has there been replacement members in the band, original lineup all the way baby, and they have been through inner fights and arguments, but they sorted it out and moved on,came out of it with stronger relations to one another then ever. If you ask me,they are living legends on this earth! And its sad to see them still being so underrated out there. If more people just knew the absolute amount of top shelf content they have been providing over the years, and still are releasing! Oh,my bad: on piano, keyboard and guitar: Magne "Mags" Furuholmen.

It's just not 70s vs 80s. You don't know how many times I've hrard different people claim one of the following decades were the best decade of music: 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s & 90s.
