Yes! Pointing out the Ken doesn't have body hair reads like a teen that discovered empathy for the first time. like hello? sir.. that's the plot of the movie.. to mock the patriarchy.
This is one of the worst understatements about Jordan Peterson I've ever seen. As a Mexican woman I can confirm he writes for everyone and that 12 rules for life is in NO WAY pro-patriarchy, it's literally about getting your life together
I can't imagine anyone reading Peterson to enjoy Barbie. "Don't allow your child to do anything that would cause you to dislike them" is enough to make me want to slap a slat out of him. I keep thinking of forcing your child into treatment for being gay because you don't like it. On top of that he sounds an awful lot like Ayn Rand, to me.

I absolutely ADORE this film but not for the reasons intended. As a man I got the message loud and clear: men are better in EVERY SINGLE WAY. And yes, we face as many harships as women and sometimes even worse because we live under the constant threat of physical retalliation. Women on the other hand are bland, boring and "airheads". We, men have feelings even though sometimes we might not understand them. Also, we were able to turn boring matriarchy into patriarchy in a day. And even the Barbies seemed happier that way. This movie is a masterpiece of unintended comedy gold.
It's enjoyable to me that these commentators find it necessary to point out that the actors playing the Ken "probably have hair" on there bodies and then bother to confirm that they have been waxed. With all the time women put into leg shaving (or wondering how best to deal with not doing it), you'd kinda think we'd have figured this out. Then again, a surprising number of folks are surprised that almost no healthy woman has naturally hairless legs. TV reality can be very convincing.
Rule 11: Accept that inequality exists. Peterson criticizes the postmodern assertion that gender is merely a social construct, and that there are no differences between males and females. He disagrees that there needs to be complete equality, in every behavior and preference, at all times. Instead, Peterson calls for recognition that inequality does exist. Males and females have different natural instincts and different preferences, and we shouldn’t deny that they exist. If we ignore this, we can create policies that force people against their nature, which can have unintended consequences. For example, Peterson feels we’re at risk of “feminizing” young boys by excessively protecting them from danger. Boys by nature are more aggressive. This is biological. They want to prove competence to each other. They want to inhabit that level of risk that pushes them to grow. Let boys be boys.
You are assuming children have no concept about Sex. You are totally incorrect. Very small children, those with with child-like minds, largely are clueless, but the older teens and older children often do. Go talk to your average 4th grader or heck 1 or 2nd grader and ask them 'Do you know about Sex' and they will many unrealistic ideas but between that age say 3 and 4th grade and they develop a consciousness that sex exists, often get sexual related ideas like Barbie and Ken asking to sleep over. Children are not stupid.
I was excited until I saw this. The ‘patriarchy’ ? You mean the guys that do all the real work? I noticed that none of the ‘matriarchy’ actually do any work. How about having that be a big reveal?
