The online flirting was a good point and that could include using pet names/terms of endearment like hi babe, love, beautiful etc. before meeting. I had a big ego boost from this but then when we met I didn't feel that he liked me much and also realized he flirted with passerbys
Yeah, that’s a great point! When used as you described either the 1. Intimacy is exceeding the commitment level or 2. Possible emotional manipulation. Thanks for sharing! Good stuff!!!
I have met a guy online and he is Christian and is still in his journey and we have the same goals in life. And so kind and gentle and we shared our journey in life and opened up and getting to know each other and we have good time. Please pray for me and him
Dustin’s analogy at 10:30 about men’s pursuit as it relates to Christ was so wonderful to hear. What a wise guy. You and your wife seem equally yoked 💜 blessings to you both
I went on two dates recently using Hinge. As far as I can tell both of these women are Christians and one thing I appreciated from both of them is they did not take out their phones the entire time we were on the date.
I've been talking to someone for nearly a year now. We're very similar in upbringing and core values. But we're still just pen pals because we haven't met in person yet because we're on different continents
That is such a tricky situation. Do either of you have the means to travel? Have you done video calls at least? Are either or both of you willing to discuss the possibility of moving if the relationship continues? I think it’s important to consider all the factors to guard your heart. A long time ago I was emailing a guy in another continent who I actually did meet in person. When I prayed, I felt the Lord guide me in a way I didn’t expect. He didn’t right out say yes or no, but He told me I wouldn’t feel safe in the marriage if I ever moved away from my pastors covering. I love my pastors and always want them in my life but if God ever calls me and my family to something else, I want to be able to fulfill that call. To me, that was reason enough to end the relationship. I just encourage you to keep going to the Lord and listen to His small voice. He truly wants what’s best for you! We will be praying for wisdom and guidance! -M
Just dab into this video and I feel encouraged because I am tired of all I see online now I keep on asking if it's possible to find the right one online
Online dating can feel discouraging. We definitely felt that way. We are so happy to hear it lifted your spirit a bit. Praying for you in the dating journey! You’ll find someone!
Thanks so much for this good tips and you guys looks great together. God bless bless your beautiful heart for sharing , I have given up on online dating app and site couple of times because you don't meet decent people, genuine, God fearing and matured people out there. But I will take this tips serious and pray for God's timing. Thanks you guys , God bless you ♥️♥️
We are praying for you in this journey! It’s not easy, but you deserve someone amazing and I hope we can help you get one step closer to that. ☺️ Thank you for sharing with us!
Thanks so much , for fact that you guys are praying for me am really grateful. I have a lot to share and I know at the right time God will make it happen, 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼♥️
Can definitely relate to the one sided conversation I rarely get any likes or matches on dating apps but I matched with this one lady we both liked art and it was made obvious on our profile but I was the only one asking questions so it just didn’t feel worry Pursuing… what online dating platform did you guys meet on? 😊
That’s kind of par for the course. There have been studies that guys rate ladies higher while ladies rate guys lower overall. Guys will do more messaging while ladies will be more selective. Don’t let that discourage you though. We met on Christian Mingle. I encountered a lot of the same things. I hope this helps. Praying for you.
Thank you. I joined one online dating app which is very costly for me to keep subscribing. I tried to give my email address to few but they refused; saying it's too early. I even wanted to give my phone number but they would'nt agree to phone call; saying it's too early. Only one person took my contact number but then he's divorced with three kids. I wouldn't want that. Right now; I feel like I've lost interest on that online dating. Please advice. Also do you have any good Christian dating site you can share here?
I was on and off the online dating apps due to how costly they can be but also the lack of engagement. I had one point were I was 6-12 months between trying it out. Usually the dating pool doesn’t change from week to week or month to month on the apps. - D I committed to give it a good effort for 3 months before deciding to sign off. - M I don’t know if this helps, but I don’t think you can look at online dating apps as a guarantee to find a spouse. It just is another opportunity to meet people. I wasn’t meeting new people in my daily life, so I tried it out. - D We definitely applaud you for asking for a phone call. Just because they declined doesn’t mean you did the wrong thing. You want someone to be serious about getting to know you. If they say it’s too early, they may just be trying to fulfill their emotional need. It definitely is a filter for the intent and commitment of the gentlemen. - M I asked Megan for a FaceTime a couple days after chatting and making a connection. I wanted to get to know her and not waste her time if I didn’t like her. - D We used Christian Mingle. We’ve had friends use Match.com, eharmony, successfully. The dating app will have an impact on the quantity and quality of the people you’re meeting. Christian Mingle had a freemium profile setup, but limited the ability to message. - D&M
Whatever app you choose will have an impact on the quantity and quality of people (with intention of marriage and love for Jesus). Christian Mingle - this is what we used. We met a variety of people during our time on the app. Different goals, intentions, and even level of faith. Upward - we had a friend have a bad relationship form, but we also had another friend meet through there and are getting married. It seems less of a commitment type app overall though. Dating apps have all kinds of people but not everyone has the intention of marriage, sadly even Christians, or even the same values. So truly it’s more about learning others intentions before you start seriously talking. Not too helpful on the specific app to choose, but I hope it helps you think about what app to choose.
If it’s going well, no longer than a week. If it’s longer, it begins to be torture for a lady and communicates a lack of initiative and intent on behalf of the guy. I asked Megan on a FaceTime/call date because you find out so much more talking than texting. It was a low commitment opportunity for us to get to know each other since we were 3 hrs away. Also, by talking, you can determine quickly if there is even a mutual interest to get to know each other more. These are rules of thumb and you will need to use discernment to make a decision. It is hard to give advice when we lack all the context though (you, her, etc.). But that is our recommendation based on how our own interaction went!
Her friends showed up at their date? I've had that happen and they tried to play it off like it was an accident. I could tell it wasn't. I wasn't cool with it at all. No 2nd date from me.
Yeah, it could feel over the top. I think the lady has the right to do that. In our case, Megan didn’t ask them to, but also I was a stranger she met online. I was also okay with it, because I wanted Megan to feel and be safe. We actually changed the location so it would be in a more public venue because I first picked a more secluded place by accident.
I’m sorry, it sounds like either the experience has been rough or just unfruitful. Whether you meet someone online or another way, we hope to be an encouragement to you in the process! It’s definitely not an easy process but there is still hope in the outcome. God’s plan is better than you imagine!
Thank you for your words of wisdom and encouragement! I love your videos! You mention you met online. Do you mind sharing what dating app you used or recommend.
Thanks for the encouragement! We’ve had a blast making them. We’ve slowed down in recent months because we have a new little one, but hope to be back making videos here soon. We used the app Christian Mingle. We were trying to find an app that not only had quantity (opportunity to meet people) but quality (high character, love Jesus) people. Hope this helps you if you decide to try online dating and whatever app you choose.
That's been my biggest issue with online dating, guys not taking the "initiative" to call me directly & to then set up an "in-person" date! That's what gets VERY frustrating (oh, and also men who talk about themselves, instead of asking questions about me)
I can relate to that as well. The whole point of talking to someone with potential interest is to get to know them. That never made sense to me either. We hope we can inspire godly men to start stepping up and taking initiative in this culture. You deserve to be sought after. You can prompt for those phone calls and in person dates but if you have to keep fighting for them, he is probably not the guy. Praying, M
I would rank them from best to worst in regards to the opportunity to get to know someone. 1. In-person date 2. Face Time Date 3. Phone Date In person is going to give you the best chance to know a person and gauge further interest. However, I did ask Megan on a face-time date initially because we were three hours apart. So it was less commitment and investment to get that initial chance to talk. I hope this helps you decide how to proceed. Megan Adds: If you’re in close proximity, I would go for the in person date in a public place where she’ll feel safe and secure. If you’re hours away, a FaceTime call is a good initial encounter. Keep in mind that each one comes with a new level of nerves. Texting usually isn’t too nerve wracking. A phone call can create some, a FaceTime does even more because one or both might be worried about how they appear, and in person is definitely going to be the most nerve wracking but also the most rewarding in knowing if either party wants to continue getting to know one another. Because of this, I think too many people give up early on. I’m thankful Dustin kept coming around even though I was shy in the beginning.
Ha, introvert here too! I also found FaceTiming difficult because there can be a lot of awkward silence staring at each other. There isn’t a buffer of conversation dies!

I appreciate you posting this thought and question. I’ll have to admit we probably didn’t communicate that the best. This was one of our first attempts at making a RUclips video. I think there is a difference in being friendly versus being flirty, but they exhibit similar mannerisms. The definition of flirt I think highlights it best. 2 a : to behave amorously without serious intent //He flirts with every attractive woman he meets. b : to show superficial or casual interest or liking There is a lack of intent. For example, men can flirt to emotionally woo a lady just to have sex with her or affirm his ego. In this case, he has no intent for her. Hopefully that clarifies a bit.

So glad to have this conversation because it is so critical to the dating journey. Also, thanks for watching!
