  • Chow Mein Recipe:
    如何制作炒面
Today we are making Chow Mein. Chow Mein means stir fried noodles in English. It’s a very popular street food that you can find in every neighborhood in China. Almost every Chinese restaurant has Chow Mein on their menus. People love this dish due to its smoky flavor and incredible savory taste. In this video I am going to show you guys my tips for making authentic tasting Chow Mein!
    Ingredients:
    3oz dry egg noodles
    1/2 onion
    1.5 oz bean sprouts
    2 small size Bok Choy
    5 cloves of garlic
    1/2 cup of spring onion
    1 egg
    1 tsp light soy sauce
    1/2 tsp dark soy sauce
    1 tsp oyster sauce
    1 tbsp cooking wine
    2 tbsp cooking oil
    Directions:
Let’s start with preparing the veggies. First, we are going to cut half of onion into thin slices. Get 2 Bok choy and cut the roots off. Separate the leaves from the stalks and cut them into shreds. Take one 1 spring onion. Also Separate the green part from the white part and cut them into shred. Slice about 4-5 garlic cloves into thin pieces. Crack one egg and mix well.
Turn on the stove and add some hot water, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp cooking oil into the pot. Once water starts to boil, put about 3 OZ noodles in and let it cook for about 2-3 mins. I am using Chinese style dry egg noodles here. If you don’t have that, you can also use spaghetti noodles. once the noodles are cooked, we will need drain them and put them into the cold water, soak for 1-2 mins to stop the cooking process. Drain the noodles again and spread them out on a tray. Once the noodles are dry, add 1 tsp of cooling oil, mix well. This way noodles will stay crunchy and won’t stick together when we cook them.
Next, we are going to make the sauce. Put the garlic slices into a bowl and add 1 tsp of light soy sauce, 1/2 tsp of dark soy sauce, 1 tsp of oyster sauce, 1 tbs of cooking wine and 1/4 tsp of salt. Mix well.
Preheat the wok with median high heat until we can see the smoke. Add 1 tbs of cooking oil and eggs. Stir fry and break the egg into small pieces. Remove the eggs. Lower the heat to median and put the noodles in. let it cook for about 1-2 mins. Flip to the other side and cook for another 1-2 mins. once both sides are crispy, remove them and set aside. Add 1 tbs of cooking oil and cook the sprouts and onions with median high heat for about 1 min and keep adding the shredded Bok Choy stalks and white part of the green onions. Stir fry for about 30 seconds. And then bring the noodles back, pour our sauce in, mix well. Keeping adding the Bok Choy leaves and green part of the spring onion. Stir fry for about 30 seconds. Finally add the eggs and mix everything together.

I often just pickup a head of cabbage, a bag of yellow onions, a few bulbs of garlic, several chili peppers and use them with spaghetti noodles as well as sesame oil & spicy crisp oil to make my chow mein. Never thought to give bok choy a try although I have tried Napa cabbage when I find it on sale. Before our local Asian grocery closed, I managed to grab the wine, vinegar, and various sauces I needed. Killer recipe, friend. I will give yours a whirl then let you know how it came out.

"my wife and me" read the sentence without "my wife"....I am looking forward to making this for I. compared to: making it for me/(myself) See how using the objective me, versus subjective I, sounds wrong - its not less wrong because theres a 'my wife' in front, the addition of your wife doesn't change it being an object or subject within the sentence. looking forward to all the toxic positivity unironic negative comments below.

I finally made this tonight. Came out tasting fantastic. I'm new to carbon steel woks though so even following this directly, I still managed to get some of the noodles sticking to the bottom...especially after I added the sauce. I may not have allowed them to dry enough though before adding the oil.
Still came out wonderfully overall though and with time, I'll get better with the wok.

As a Vegetarian, what do you eat as daily protein? I am a person who eats meat, but I want to work hard on my spiritual salvation to not eat meat in the upcoming new order set by the true God.

    • @catmansma
      @catmansma 11 месяцев назад

@lehnhardtdevonek.8479 hello, I noticed your comment and.I don't eat meat as much, although I do, I'm an animal lover and although I do enjoy it for a meal, once in awhile..I get by more and more, especially since prices are going up and the treatment that animals are going through to feed us..just awful.I eat sprouted bread, like ezekiel bread (be sure to leave in freezer it has no preservatives) and some don't care for the bread, but it does produce a perfect protein. Also, I've been getting more fruits and vegetables and I'll just have that. If you like rice and beans...so good for you and I hated at one time but now I love it. It's a matter of taste. And I understand what you mean about God's plan for us. I used to think, "What! No steak" ha ha. But, think how delicious fruits and vegetables will be! No fertilizers and how fresh the food will be!! And such an abundance...I don't think we will miss meat at all. And we will be healthy...look at Isaiah 29:18. Or 35:5. Isaiah was certainly not talking about these days, but the time in future. Be well. Good health to you.
