Still waiting for Aaron's Japanese curry from scratch ( I refuse to follow anyone else's recipe because Aaron's recipe is always foolproof😌 you can't convince me otherwise)
This looks almost identical to the stuff I get from my favorite Asian restaurant (it used to be just Chinese but starting about 10 years ago they started doing pho, pad Thai, and other stuff too) and I’ve always been happy to get it from them because they’re a wonderful family, but now I live over 40 miles away and it’s just not practical to go that far lately so thank you for this wonderful recipe.
This completely changed the final result of my delicious mushroom chow Mein I just made today! crunchy veggies, beautifully coated noodles and delicious gluten free Chinese dish that I must say is the tastiest I ever had and ever made!
Awesome instructions! I love chowmein but mine never turns out quite right. Now I know how to cut the veggies properly and dry the noodles! Can’t wait to try it. Made it tonight and everyone LOVED it! Thank you 😊
Yay! What a wonderful team! You cook and she cleans (enjoys your cooking too 🤤). Thank you for sharing that part of the video. I will be cooking this dish tonight. You two are adorable! 🤙🏽

I even used a bagged cole slaw for the cabbage and precut carrots! I am in the USA, so I had to look up conversions from grams, as well. And I am soy-free, and refined sugar-free. My Subs: Agave/Maple Syrup vs granulated sugar Coconut Aminos vs Soy Sauce Found a Soy-free Oyster Sauce. Mirin vs the Wine. But this was VERY GOOD! Made this so many times ..it's amazing. Made it w shrimp tonight and my husband said it's the best chow me in he's ever had. Let me tell you we live in LA and he works on Hollywood and eats at THE HIGHEST END restaurants all the time. So this is a big deal! Love all your recipes Aaron! Love the cookbook too ❤❤❤❤❤
I haven’t yet tried this but I will as I love Chow Mein. Tip for others that I figured out: For sauce recipes like this that have no ingredients that will go bad in the fridge you can double/triple the sauce and store the rest in the fridge for next week or maybe day 😂 You can also do some food prep once a week. Sometimes I do that so I already have washed/cut vegetables in the fridge. It really cuts down on the time especially if you have food prepped the vegetables.
This is the level of detail and enthusiasm I want when I cook for someone else!!!! I like how you break down the recipes, very easy to understand and beautiful video
I've been binging this channel to learn all the recipes, I want to start cooking like this to introduce my kids to food from other countries and this channel makes it so fun to learn it!
We are on our way home in our RV (camper) and I needed to use up some food from the freezer so I turned to you for inspiration. I had frozen salmon, broccoli, red bell pepper, and onion. Also, frozen vermicelli. Well, the salmon and noodles got a but mushy but the veggies were crisp. I made the sauce to your recipe (even MSG) and it was DELICIOUS!! I bought your cookbook and had it sent home. We will be there tomorrow and I plan on making EVERYTHING in your cookbook! We love your channel. Please say hello to Claire and yummmm. So good. Thank you for making Korean food a staple in our American home!
Thank you Aaron & Claire. I made this recipe and it is delicious. The cabbage definitely is a good addition - it bulks it up and adds a nice flavor with no calories. I also used angel hair pasta instead of Chinese noodles and it worked perfectly, as you said it would. Thanks again!
I really like using those dried egg noodles. They also come in a shrimp flavour which is really great for soup noodles with wontons. Also totally agree about using spaghetti as an option for noodle stir fries - works really well!
Chef Arron always a delight to watch and Claire always brings the best reactions when taste testing😁 May I suggest a list of cookware for your video. You have followers like myself who love your method and want to mimic every detail Appreciate all video content you post! Love from a simple home cook newbie😊💜💯🙌
My wife and I gave up spending $50 US for a takeout meal to make our own Asian food JAN 2025. I have tried a couple Lo me in recipes from RUclips (one named after a fast airplane) and your recipe is hands down the best we have ever eaten. (When I say better I mean ridiculously better). I’m ashamed that we spent twice as much money for takeout for noodles that were overcooked with a few bites of chicken per quart in soy sauce for 10 years now. Thank you so much for your work, my wife and I are grateful.
Looking forward to making this! Love this channel! So happy to have discovered it. The humor tied in with great cooking is a win for me. Thanks for producing these episodes. The two of you have given me confidence in my cooking!
I made this. It was amazing. I used what vegi had (mushrooms, peppers and onion and added a tiny bit of ginger and didn't have any egg white. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and it was amazingly good . Thank you.
OH MY GOD Thank you so much for the recipe🙏🏿 For the first time my chow mein turned out amazing and way better than take out too. Thank you. You're the best.
Toasting the noodles is the key here. I would not have thought of that. Thank you for another great recipe. And, I'm with Claire, would love an orange chicken video.

Thank you so much for the recipe. This was my first time making chow mein everyone in my family enjoyed it I will not be making chow mein noodles any other way .You make so many amazing meals
Okaaay! I made this dish vegetarian style! Kind of. I still used the oyster sauce because we eat fish, but we subbed the chicken for tofu. It was a hit! Here are the details: 1) we used the lo mien egg noodles. We cooled them down after boil. Excellent advice. Made the difference. 2) we used tofu instead of chicken, but used the same chicken marinade. Marinade was great. 3) we cooked the tofu in the wok with oil, but the crispy goodness stuck to the wok instead of on the tofu. I wonder if it would have worked better at a lower temp. 4) we pulled the tofu from the wok before it got too messy and put it in the oven at 400 degrees for 24 minutes, flipping at 12 minutes. Tofu was perfect. 5) we followed everything else in the directions to the end. (We didn’t have dark soy sauce and subbed rice vinegar in for the mirin) Final thoughts: I understand that animal fat adds amazing flavor to most any dish, but if you aren’t into eating meat all of the flavors still work really well together. I am a big fan of Aaron and Claire and cannot wait to get my cookbook come December.
Wow! Thank you so much for taking your time and sharing these wonderful tips. I'm sure everyone will love it! ❤️ (And thank you so much for ordering our cookbook! We're so excited! 😆🙏)
