I miss this series so much. At least I can come back and watch it now and then.
this series was seriously ahead of its time!
I keep coming back to this recipe. Today, I finally had ALL the ingredients, no substitutes. I followed this recipe exactly (well i added the maseca to the COLD milk and whisked it together to avoid lumps, then added the milk to the rest and heated it). IT WAS AMAZING! I thought I preferred a thicker consistency, but this was great!
I just watched another video. It’s supposed to boil for a whole 15 Minutes! I will try that next time, with this recipe.
My mom used to make this every weekend in winter and i loved it reminds me of my childhood
filipino have a dish called champurrado too, but it's mix with glutinous sweet rice, no cinnamon & hot chocolate. it's really delicious! awesome recipe though! :)
But this is Mexican.
@@connorshan2023 yeah lol
That's why she said "too" loll
Man I miss Thirsty For. My fave series on youtube.
RUclips fell off
Mmmmm soooo gooood! But, I confess, when no one is looking I add more chocolate to it , I prefer it darker in color and chocolatier !!!!
Im so upset Tastemade changed the privacy settings for vast majority of the thirsty for videos, forcing users to obtain a membership to see them, talk about Thirsty for money 💰
Sheila Montserrat Well if it makes you feel better I found them in Brazilian
Whoever edited and directed this are talented mofos. Thoroughly enjoyed that, and (as a Brit who has sadly been nowhere near Mexico) learned of several new ingredients I'd never even heard of before. Subscribing based on this video alone. Well done!
so sad this playlist is no longer available to watch. it was literally the only reason I watched this channel
Love the unity of the songs used throughout the videos, they all represent their culture but also sound very 50's ish. Nice job to whoever did this. Videos are incredibly teasing and well photographed. Made my day.
To the Filipino people: the Champurrado in Mexico is a hot drink that is usually accompanied with Tamales or sweet bread. As I understand it, in the Philippines is like a dessert (according to the reviews I read) but made with rice ... what ends up not being the same even if the ingredients are almost the same.
Anyway, greetings to you ^^
+honounoya Let's just say Filipino champorado is chocolate rice pudding. It's my all-time favorite and call it the breakfast for champions. :D
I am Pinoy and it may be used as a dessert but I may also be used as a main dish eaten with a specific type of fried fish which pairs nicely with the sweetness of the "porridge"
Laura Enciso no
We got filipino hot chocolate too
Yes, Filipino champurrado is usually breakfast food, & chocolate rice porridge as two people stated above. Milk or evaporated milk poured in afterwards is an option. Salty dried fish or dried salted meat usually accompanies it as a great balance to the sweet porridge. Like someone said, we also have our Filipino hot chocolate drink as well which doesn't always use milk, & my mom, who was from Batangas, said they also used a molinollo (called something else in Batangas), to mix it as well.
YOUR VIDEO WAS AMAZING.
CONGRATULATIONS.
THE MUSIC AND THE PRESENTATION MAKE ME TO TRAVEL WITH MY MIND TO THE BEAUTYFUL MEXICO.
THANKS FOR THE BEAUTYFUL MOMENT.
KATERINA FROM BEAUTYFUL GREECE.
in philippines champurrado = rice choco porridge or choco with oatmeal , we place tuyo (salted fried fish) and dilis (Anchovy(es)) , = Breakfast, Snack, also drink = using a tablea and topping of milk ^_^ YUMMY!!!!!
+MaxiFranz48 I'd love to try that one!
Editing skills are on point.
what a perfect presentation on this receive. Music and no talking loved it.
I LOOOOOVE my Champurrado thick. It keeps you nice and warm. My grandmother still makes it like this till this day.
Now I want some!!
I like Champurrado, I had some on Christmas when I went to visit my Mexican family in California. You guys should try Coquito!!!! It's like an Puerto Rican eggnog, my mother and I just learned how to make it and my Puerto Rican side of the family was impressed. It's not that hard to make actually. I hope you guys make it soon :)
We have a Mexican eggnog too! It's called rompope :) I bet the two are very similar
I made Puerto Rican eggnog and now i don't think I'm going back to regular eggnog.
This is the easiest recipe I've seen for it. I'm totally gonna try to make it myself.
Champorado quite different in the Philippines.
We use sticky or glutinous rice.
Flavor was ok bit next time I'm going to add more masa because it wasn't thick enough for me👍
Josephine Mofsie THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID...Lol 🤣
Xbox Gamerr # did you deadass reply to a comment that was posted 5 years ago
Yes. Yes they did
I agree, mine taste like water with chocolate🙈
I took this recipe and used substitutes; .5 teaspoon ground cinnamon and brown sugar.
Even without the star, it was good! plan to take this to pot lucks in the cold months :)
just need to mix the corn flour with some of the cold water or milk because adding it to the hot mix really clumps it all up, and takes a long time the wisk in the clumps.
nicegurl408 thank you!
Someone give the person who made this video a job! Sometimes I watch this tutorial just for the skill and beauty of the filmmaking.Really well put together. Recipe is awesome too. A lot of talent here.
The person got already fired due to the length of the video, too short . Sorry about that!
this stuff is the best and brings back alot of good memories for me
I miss all of these videos...used to watch them all the time.
these were the BEST videos tastemade made
In the Philippines our chaporado is a rice porridge. A cook glutinous rice with lots of water and cocoa powder or tablea and brown sugar. Milk is poured once the champorado is about to serve.
Champurrado is a Tradition in our family for New Years along with Tamales.
I am Mexican and this recipe is very accurate its not like Texmex or anything like that, this is real Mexican champurrado
i saw the apple cider video as a youtube commercial and decided that i'd just drop by your channel to have a look see.
best. decision. ever.
In Philippines our Chamupurrado is different it's not a drink it's more like a desert. It's basically porridge w/ coco powder and evaporated milk. Yum!
The music you choose for these videos is outstanding.
Mmmmm, every winter (and just plain chilly day), I crave champurrado! Thanks for the beautiful video on how to make this staple Mexican winter drink! :3
una delicia para tomar especialmente en los tiempos de frío ☕️ , gracias por la receta! I love it thank you
Champurrado is not Mexican hot chocolate. It's a different hot beverage that contains chocolate. Trust me on this. I'm Mexican in Mexico.
I'm Mexican in Mexico 😂 no mames
Leonardo Orduno
You have a point in there somwhere? ¿O nomás estás opinando a lo güey?
Fran jaime im Mexican in Mexico hahahahah fue lo mejor
Raquel Cervantes Pues es cierto. Soy mexicana y vivo en México. Podría ser mexicana y vivir en EUA.
Don't say champurrado is not Mexican chocolate
Im a filipino and champurrado here in philippines is a chocolate rice porridge. Made with cocoa and milk.
I love this i like it everytime we celebrate somethin in winter!!!!
I make this every winter following this video, ❤it!
Here in the Philippines we also have champorado it's also chocolate but it has Glutinous rice and milk 💞 like a porridge
Amazing screenplay combined with wonderful music and delicious looking foodstuffs! Genius.
I just made this tonight for the first time.... absolutely authentic tasting and delicious!!!
@Tastemade ! what happened to all of your thirsty for videos? I only see three of em now.
I loved them all! now I'm sad 😢
xAmaya13x you can see on vimeo.
I love these videos for the quirky music they include
Reminds me of my grandma, Rip. Thanks for the video
the smell of this .... must.. be... heaven!
I seriously love this series!
My goodness, that looks delectable!
My family makes it similar with the exeption of anise and using left over masa when we make tortillias.
Omg champurrado is delicious 😋 It brings back memories when we were kids and on Christmas
here in the Philippines... our champurado is like a rice porridge with cocoa....
That was SO FRIGGIN RELAXING.
I’d watch it again just to hear that upbeat music! 😃
The only season to enjoy them.
You can use brown sugar or any sugar really, its just a sweetener. The masa can be replaced with corn starch but the starch will give a consistency closer to atole. Basically it'll be denser, but just as delicious!
Me and most Filipinos were probably expecting the chocolate rice porridge in the Philippines lmao champurado in Mexico: hot chocolate in Philippines: chocolate rice porridge hahhaha ha
jaime obieta it's not hot chocolate
check your spelling 2 different spellings for 2 different items :)
I’m Mexican and I never knew this. Now I want to try Filipino Champurrado!
I second that motion. I'm Mexican and I love champurrado. Especially during Christmas and New Year. However, I would like to try the filipino version very much.
I miss these Thirsty For vids..
i've seen this at chuck's week off in mexico. glad to see this. thanks!
My gandmother used to do this because she was mexican and it was the best thing ever it aws sooo delicious
Star anise is also found in Chinese cooking, so you could also look in Asian food stores too!
beautifulll...im so in love with all of this video
Yes. for us Champurado is sweet chocolate rice porridge
In the Philippines champorado is like a chocolate rice porridge. Instead of the flour we add sticky rice :)
Love the music in each video, keep up the good work..
I love the music in the background 😍🇲🇽
Filipinos have a dish called champurado mixed with rice (chocolate congee). Almost like a Mexican and Chinese fusion dish. 😅
My lola (abuela) also make chocolate de batirol made with the tablets of chocolate and the molinillo. It’s her speciality during Christmas. It’s very similar to this! :)
Hello tastemade! Can you make a video on Halo-Halo? It's a very famous and delicious snack/drink from the Philippines! It would be awesome to see some Filipino drinks!
If your Abuelita (when she was grumpy/angry with you by any reason) didn't hit you with the molinillo, you didn't have childhood :v
Lol. That really funny
We don’t have one :(
Grandma never hit us because we’re normal
My grandma never did that but she did make mole out of my neighbor's chicken that snuck into our backyard
Well my dad beat me with a belt and his wife forced me to hold cups and books at arm's length, which is the white people equivalent
First though this was Philippines Champurrado which is a hot chocolate rice dish then I reread title. Looks good, and now i am craving chocolate
The molinillo looks amazing :) Best piece of kitchen gadgetry I've ever seen
It looks so easy to make. Definitely going to try this at home.
omg im so happy i found this!!!
My family isn't a very traditional mexican family, so a lot the recipes that my grandmas used to know have been lost... But THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting this! I'm going to try this out asap!!! =D
My favorite vid so far.
I LOVELOVELOVE this recipe! it's absolutaly delis!
love it,and the music too, thank you !!!
champurrado in our country is a sweet chocolate rice porridge (hot cocoa w/ rice) .
Bravo, Bravo!!! Looks so cozy and delicious!
Fran Jaime is right, Champurado is NOT Our chocolate, they should do Oaxacan hot chocolate or chocolate de tabla, or spiced hot chocolate with chilie or cinammon. ooorr, they could make cafe de olla wich is coffe steeped with canela and pilonsillo, or even a Mexican Christmas punch. lol I got off topic, I love hot beverages. point is that is not mexican hot chocolate. I'm a Mexican born USA resident but I'm still pretty darn Mexican!
Cinthia Meza may not be Mexican hot chocolate but it is a Mexican holiday drink and fucking amazing with some pan dulce
It IS a Mexican holiday drink tho
Thank you!
@@SocietalNoob That's NOT the F'king point!
I agree great song choice. Thought it was gonna be cheezy but this video is pretty legit
I miss these videos!!!!!
lol I've never heard that song before haha love it, and love you guys even more for posting this recipe ... greetings from Mx ;)
i love making this especially with family!!!
I have never had this but it looks delicious!
Yup, I love it! It's really good.
No wonder this is so delicious!
Loved that music! Your recipe,too!
Yes! I can't wait to make this, the video was well done and the music went along with it perfectly.
Why I love being Mexican :D
Y Arriba México...!!
i LOVE my mom's recipe of champurrado.
@cole ramores Champurrado is the mexican drink, champurado with one r is the filipino version
Oh hell the memories attached to this drink! -daydreams-
Thank you. Very clear and to the point.
The song is "No Me Nieges Amor," by Balde Gonzalez
The person that replied to you is wrong. Masa is not corn starch but whole ground corn. You can use flour to thicken it (and in fact I usually make it with flour because I don't like the corny flavor that masa gives the drink) but you will have to use much less flour as compared to using masa as a thickener.
Maseca is the same thing look on the bag it will say arina. as long as it's a corn based flour you can use any of them.
Love your videos! They so inviting and to the point! Music here was perfect! Lots and lots of low! Cheers!
Que ricooooo viva México!
LOVE how you edit these!!!
Are you a. Multimedia grad? The quality of your post is just excellent!!!!!
