I thought it was just me who gets really tired when I sleep more than i should and woke up late. Nobody gets me at home. So yeah i wake up earlier as much as I can.
A shorter work week is more productive because we hav more personal time. For me it gives me more time to read up about investing and share my thoughts
Excellent tips, Nate! 🔥 I always set my phone to Airplane Mode before I sleep to cut out the notifications *and* any potentially harmful electromagnetic waves!
I think another good tip is to do fewer things. super good to cut out things that are not needle movers. sometimes paying people to help you do things that take up lots of time like grocery shopping, video editing, cooking, etc. so you can get your time back and focus on the top things that you're good at.
Thanks for all these tips. Definitely need to stop rushing off to distractions in the middle of a task. It goes along with trying to multi-task, you end up accomplishing the small distractions while the big goal/task was left unfinished. There's procrastination again masked as busy.
I definitely need to stop sleeping with my cell phone and pressing snooze 2-3 times before work. It would be great to wake up when the alarm sound or 15-20 minutes before the alarm goes off. Great video!
As the day goes on we also get decision fatigue which makes taking action so much harder. I used to go gym when I was at university and had time to spare, but now gym has to be in the morning otherwise, I’ll make a million excuses and overthinking it just makes me want to do it less. 😂😂
Lol. Im opposite. I love hitting the gym(kinda depressed gyms r closed. Running outside just isnt enough). After work im mentally fried but physically dying to work out (desk job). After workout i also usually feel good physically and mentally.
I like the learn to say no. I just read something warren buffet said “what separates most successful people from really successful people is that they say no to almost everything”
Hey man been watching your videos for a bit now and just wanted to say thanks for all the GREAT content! A lot of these tips I've already incorporated in my day, and some I'm still working on. I used to be a night owl too, but I learned for me personally getting up early around 5 AM is the best because I can get things done early and conquer the day!
Thank you very much for sharing !! I already use severs of these tips you're talking about. Will focus on turn off my phone during the hours when I do my task, and avoid distraction. Also reacting is defenitely a trap. So by turning off my photo I can gain peaceful time to achieve my task. I'm enthousiatic to add those good tools and will try it right now !
Congrats on almost hitting 200k subs man, I started the YT hustle as well and close to hitting 10k subs, hopefully I’ll get to your level in the next coming year.
Excellent vid. I use daily lists and bullet journaling to track my tasks, goals, and accomplishments. Been doing it for more than a year and it has changed my life and made me far more productive than ever.
I find that taking breaks btw unit reviews help me. Or playing a video I want watch while watching what I need to learn like Matt helps since I learn visually.
I always breakdown my work to a smaller task then after that I transition to small tasks to bigger tasks. So I won't work on my the harder tasks longer hours.
One of the criteria for job advertisements nowadays is multitasking. There were some moments I thought I am useless because I can't multitask. Until I watched videos about the power of focus, I felt much better.
I think the biggest pain that kept me being more productive and proactive is not being poor when retiring. Still about 37 years (turned 30 couple of months ago) to go, but here in Germany regular pensions are going to be very low (less than 45% of your regular income after 40-45 years of work) in the future due to demographic changes. Now I'm able to sleep well at night again knowing that I'm doing everything I can to prevent me from being poor now and being poor when retired.
I actually enjoy working at night and waking up at 2-3PM. That's what drives me - this kind of lifestyle. When I had a typical 9-5, I was forced to wake up at 4:30AM and I had about 4-6 hours of sleep each night. It was agonizing. That's the pain that drives me, if I feel lazy, I just look back at the time I had a job and boom, productivity skyrockets. Because I know if I don't work hard enough on my own business and cashflow, I'll be forced to get back to the slavery that's a job.
Great Idea. My girlfriend does tbat with her phone it is on other side of the room and definitely works the best 👌👌 thanks for sharing the great tips. Much appreciated

Super important to prioritize. I think these videos will really help a lot of people that need to hear this kind of stuff. You're starting to upload more regularly, getting on that YT ding
Love when your new videos go live Nate! Awesome tips my friend, and you're getting so close to 200K! Blown away my friend and super happy for you! Keep it up! :)
Great video Nate, enjoy this and so much of this video is applicable to me. I am highly distracted with my adhd. Thanks again brother, your changing the world one video at a time!
i quit instagram and i blocked all notifications (also i enable do not bother) and now i'm more proactive. on the other hand, i exercise more and i think this helps me all mornings; i can focus on my stuff and this is really helpful. however, i liked your tips!
Not rare for a man to not have one, women have way more stressful for relationship due to narcissism running rampant in the male gender, 70% of narcissist being man, as a statistic fact.
I found so much value in this that I need to like the video. But in regards to laborit's law, should you still do that if you are done regular job by night fall or the little jobs can distract you from the big jobs? Like cleaning your room or taking out the trash BEFORE your girlfriend grills into you?
Amazing list Nate! Really well thought out, as always. I agree, some tasks are inevitably going to be more “avoidable” than others. Personally though, I would say finding balance can be an even bigger struggle at times. Honestly, if I mentally get “in the zone”...I literally can’t feel time passing. Sounds great in theory, because I’m getting something “done”, but sometimes it makes me think my life could be more balanced. On the other hand...if I enjoy the process of certain “tasks”, isn’t that the reward in and of itself?😌
With putting the phone on the other side of the room. While I agree with it fully, but I feel this idea can build on it and it's just get a simple alarm clock instead of relying on your phone to wake you up. That way, you rely less on your phone (which makes you less productive) and they're really cheap, you can probably pick one up for like $8. And put that on the other side of the room as well as your phone. Plus, it stops you automatically checking your phone once you have turned off your alarm.
Prior to making this video, how many cups of coffee did you drink? Slow down. You move too fast. Got to make the morning last. Along the way, enjoy your day.
Multitasking jacks of cortisol levels and makes people get fat. 🤣 I told my fam, you don't get much exercise at work unless it is hard labor job or you are training in sports, and they argued with me, and I said if you are getting exercise at work, how come you ain't losing weight. 🤣
Hope you enjoyed this video! I can't believe that we are approaching 200,000 subscribers! Can't thank everyone enough
Good video Nate, i follow you for some time tanks for the video from 🇳🇱 bye for now.
Ur videos are inspiring and finally i have pushed myself to lern something new and keep my schedule busy.thanks🌸
Hi Nate.. im 81 and love your helpful information.. keep on doing what you do so well.
Sleeping in was a huge problem it seemed like if I was up late and woke up late I was stuck tried all day. Being on a consistent schedule is key!
It’s a dangerous cycle!
I thought it was just me who gets really tired when I sleep more than i should and woke up late. Nobody gets me at home. So yeah i wake up earlier as much as I can.
With age, insomnia rules your life. Sleep late and take naps.
I’ve finally found a channel with real advice
Businesses ALWAYS try to increase productivity and efficiency... so why shouldn't people too?
Great video Nate - quality content!
You really deliver best quality content with best values
For me it was al about very diligent and precise scheduling. Keeping to a schedule kept me focused and didn't let me procrastinate.
I think exposure to natural light helps with productivity as well since it improves mine.
Me too 100%
A shorter work week is more productive because we hav more personal time. For me it gives me more time to read up about investing and share my thoughts
Let me just put off what I was doing to watch Nate's video.
Wait...
This video should be a worthwhile investment
Love the tip about not having your phone with you at night Nate. That's a definite problem for a lot of people!
Saying No to stay focused, but not to everything.
Good point.
I am 21,Nate is 21 but his head is filled with gems and I am that gem collector🔥😛
getting a dog, and committing to taking good care of it helped me get more active (and sociable).
Excellent tips, Nate! 🔥 I always set my phone to Airplane Mode before I sleep to cut out the notifications *and* any potentially harmful electromagnetic waves!
You are really my inspiration ! Keep doing videos like this!
Great advice nate 🙏 writing down your goals always works !
It really does!
My son is almost 22 and has just moved out of home.
He is a minimalist and has very few items by choice.
But he needs to listen to this
Matt D' Avella : 10
Ali Abdaal : 10
Thomas Frank: 10
Nate O'Brien : 11

Great tips! Phones can be an amazing tool to actually use towards a business, but they also can be an extreme distraction.
*Goals really make all the difference!*
They really do!
Graham’s laziness video yesterday then this today. It’s like adderall in video form.
😁 I noticed they were on the same wavelength there too.

I have a flip phone. The "Not so smart phone" does not hold sway over me. This was a conscious choice.
Not only do you save money, but you also save time!

Took an extra second to read in your description and I will admit, you have some interesting links there! Thanks!
Great video, thank you!
I am laying in my bed drinking fireball whiskey on ice and smoking cbd and planning my entire week in my journal 🤣
Also Nate, if you'd like to write me a check I would never say no ;) Just make sure you're on vacation so you get nothing done LOL!

This video should be titled "For People Who Lack Self Control" because close to none of these apply to non-procrastinators.
this was truly helpful thx
