    Welcome to the 100,000 subscriber special! Today we're taking a look at the Immersive Sim that brought it all back: Deus Ex: Human Revolution! Human Revolution tells a story 25 years before the events of the Original Deus Ex where Augmentation is a controversial topic that Sarif's chief of security, Adam Jensen, never asked to be a part of. But after an attack on Sarif's Augmentation laboratory he's forced to undergo extensive cybernetic augmentation to survive and sets off on a quest to see who's really pulling the strings in the world of 2027

    One of my favorite memories of HR was actually the third Tyrant fight - I had hacked a turret and was just carrying it around the base with me, didn't even know there was a boss fight coming up, and had gotten the chip "upgrade". Stood in the corner baffled there was a boss fight going on and freaking out on how I was gonna fight him...once he walked past the elevator the turret was not only still loaded into the level but kicked on and made swiss cheese outta the boss. I just watched amazed that I'd accidently countered his ace in the hole with my own.

    Deus Ex: Human Revolution takes the cake as #1 on my list of the coolest kills I've ever pulled off in a video game. Ever.
    Near-ish the end of the game I was fighting through some base, and carrying a vending machine to toss at some poor sod, and as an impromptu cover. I was met with a group of guys, and as I was wading through their fire, one of them tossed a grenade at me. Immediately, I tossed the vending machine with the intention to run away from the grenade, without being slowed down by a heavy object... it turned out I didn't have to, because my vending machine collided mid-air with the grenade and deflected it back into the group, killing all of the enemies at once.
    10/10 would perform a vending machine grenade deflect group kill again.

      i remember i carried a fridge/vending machine like a mobile cover lmao while going through a long
      corridor/hallway popping headsh0ts in between (used the entrance on the other side as chokehold point to small bursts of incoming reinforcement teams, somehow unsilenced loud 10mm is better for faster stealth/ghost runs in this game lol) still maintained stealth
      and the headsh0t only+ unsilenced 10mm pist0l only+ ghost+ gen0c^de playthrough was the most fun i had with this game

      Gotta max out all the XP you can get upto that point; all non-lethal stealth takedowns, finding every alternate route, hacking everything. If I remember correctly you might have 100-120xp left to spare if you did everything correctly.
      Take that meticulous approach to detroit where you farm every single weapon you find (ie: bring every single weapon to a weapons dealer), and you can easily make enough money so you won't have to worry about money ever again when buying the free praxis kits from a limb clinic. Figure out which upgrades you need when you need them and you can easily max out all your cyberware when you get to the end.

    One of my favourite game series of all time. Just completed a no kills, no alarms playthrough and saw so many things I missed in other playthroughs. I really hope with Embracer Group purchasing Eidos Montreal, they are willing to revive this series. Mankind Divided ended on too much of a cliffhanger!

    I could never figure out how the social augment was supposed to work. I found it much easier just to use the normal dialogue options and pick the answers that seem to fit the situation than try and muddle my way through the obtuse rock paper scissor system of the augment.

    • @SheepUndefined
      @SheepUndefined Год назад +1

      You have to keep track of every time one of the bars lights up, and kinda just add every lit segment to a talley in yur head. By the end of the social battle, whatever talley has the most points added up is likely to be their personality type, and that determines what you use to instantly destroy their argument with fax and logitech. Iirc the game will let you know which option correlates to which personality type, but it's been a while, so I'm not certain on that.

    I was literally just thinking to myself how and why you got the idea to use your cat as your avatar, because I honestly love it so much.
    Its pretty unique and your cat is cute. The varying pictures of still animation are more interesting than most "Avatar crosses their arms" or is "clasping their face in shock" or "doing a cartoonish angry gesture"
    The talking heads are fine and all, but Frisk is the best

    My strategy for boss battles on pacific-stealth was to collect a lot of grenades. The pattern to toss grenades, as far as I remember was to toss the gas grenades first - since the boss takes more time to react after coughing, and while they are coughing, toss more frag grenades, and toss another gas grenade right before the first one runs out. You could take down Yelena with a lot of stun guns when she comes close enough to you during the boss fights.

    • @robertmurdock1848
      @robertmurdock1848 Год назад +2

      There are several grenade/mine combinations to take down the first boss, but you can do it with just one EMP greanade and use the barrels and cannisters in the room.
      You can take down Yelena with one well placed EMP mine.
      You can take down Namir , with a simple take-down.

    The one HUUUGE complaint I have about this game is the cutscenes. They ALL completely destroy the immersion. The lighting is different. There is a fuzz filter over everything. Or at least it looks like that on higher rez displays. So every out of engine scene ends up looking like it doesn't belong. Like when you find the hacker in sarrif. Goes from a brightly lit room when you walk in to a dingy, smoke filled underground gambling basement vibe.
