I had just watched the whole retrospective of Dark Souls trilogy, and the god of war series. I'm sure these videos take alot more work than most of us realize. Think I can speak for most if not all your viewers when I say we really appricate the time and dedication put into these videos. Excited for everything you upload. Cheers mate.
Gingy’s videos are so simple and so easy to follow and so relaxing to listen to that l can have absolutely no intrest in a certain game but l can completely enjoy him talking about it
Square-Enix really did this series dirty, but then again they did all their Western studios dirty. Unreasonable sale projections, forcing their umbrella studios to use scummy micro-transaction, and pre-order bonus schemes, among other half-baked ideas.... Now with Embracer Group showing they're just as bad, I fear we may never get a proper resolution to Adam Jensen's story. Now I'm now saying Eidos Montreal is free of any blame either, but Square ultimately was not only the purse holder, but the overseer dictating terms of release, as well as pushed them to implement the scummy pre-order thing that helped damage the game's rep before release.
Gingy you’re such an amazing content creator! You have such a passion for the games you review and such a comforting voice. I love being able to watch this type of long form content to wind down and learn more about video games. Thanks for your hard work!
Someone probably already wrote this but the police asks for your papers only if you go into the "human" line on the subway. If you go through the line for aughs they won't bother you
1:53:30 - There are too many coincidences in the game that point to Jensen being a clone. It's either a whole bunch of things, both large and small, that just so happened to fall into place, or the devs knew exactly what they were doing.
Thank you for another amazing video! I was eagerly anticipating it, as the Deus Ex series are some of my favourite games, primarily because of DXMD. You mentioned not finding the station bomber, and I wanted to highlight that there's a hidden room in Golem City where you can discover emails from the bomber and Viktor Marchenko. Additionally, You also mentioned the Garm level to be lacklustre, which I agree, there are some interesting documents there that provide more insight into certain aspects of the story. One aspect I particularly enjoyed about DXMD is its almost FromSoft-style storytelling, via hiding documents around the world and incorporating hidden quests that activate only if you find or know certain things. (I apologise for gushing about this game) but the level design and its tightness are qualities I've rarely found in other games. There's consistently more than one path to any objective, and none of them feel tacked on. and again thank you for another amazing video!
I like when you go see Sam Carter at the armoury in the first game and the game punishes you by not giving you ammo if you select the dialogue option that suggests you've been running around killing everyone instead of paying attention to the story and limiting the body count by using stealth/skills/augs along side your weapons. A gentle hint to explore more ways to do things
I finished original Deus Ex this year in February, I tried playing it years ago, and I dont know why, but I never played it more than 2 hours. Then I finally decided I will give it one more chance, and oh boy, I surely was missing one of the most important games of all time. Now its in my top 5 video games of all time, a classic.
You know what? Good on you for pointing out the American internment camps. We like to vilify the Nazis for their camps (and rightly so, that shit was messed up) but rarely do people talk about the American equivalent (not that we ran experiments or gassed them but the living conditions were absolutely terrible.)
Deus Ex has passively become one of my favorite games, as weird a phrase as that is. I enjoy conpiracies so much that the first game being about them immediately caught my interest. Shame though that it came out before i was able to understand how to play ( I was about 5 at the time). I got into human revolution about 2 years after it came out, knowing nothing about the series. I quickly became a fan and was so excited when they annouced mankind. But just like most people, i was slightly disappointed that it was short and that it once again really only revolved around augments. I understand that it gave the story more polish but it's what made the series so interesting to me, all the conspiracies they could have visualized and made into interesting thematic pieces. And as for playing the first game, I just can't. It's obviously before the standardized control we're so used to on pc. And don't even get me started with the gameplay ( the tranq darts not knocking someone out with a single heads hot, I blame MGS for that). I'll eventually play through it myself. Anyways, it's a treat to listen to your videos at work and I'm always eagerly waiting for the next upload! Happy Holidays!
Thanks for making this video! I'm in my mid twenties but found the deus ex series as a teenager long time ago. Confused at first what it was about but my ideologies and thoughts became more fine tuned over the years, I enjoy these games so much more now.
The Deus Ex franchise is my favorite of all time. The first Deus Ex game was a revelation in all sorts of ways. I did enjoy Invisible War, flaws and all. DX:HR was amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed DX:MD, though the abrupt ending was jarring. The future seems bleak, but I do hope that, somehow, one more game gets made to give Adam Jensen the send-off he deserves.
You only don't like paying taxes because you've never seen a day in your life where your taxes have benefited you in any material way If you grew up with a basic income, housing, medical care, and nourishment, you wouldn't be complaining so much about being taxed. I know I sure as shit wouldn't and I sure as shit believe that those are the real things our taxes should be going towards well before they go into a military budget

History buff here with a counter because I notice a lot of people miss this factoid, and this video does the same. Regarding the Japanese concentration camps; they were not solely to detain, they had a two-fold intent. Yes they were meant to detain any Japanese sympathizers and spies hiding among the populace (and yes there WERE a number of them), but the other reason for the camps was to PROTECT Japanese-Americans from retalitory violence from the populace. Lot of people seem to conveniently forget that tidbit and never bring it up. Let me be clear I am not condoning the camps, but it annoys me when people mention this historical fact and negates to include the whole picture.

God I hope they manage to continue the series. Gdamn Square and their weird relationship with IP's they acquire. Hitman survived and thrived after they got rid of it so i hope Deus Ex can do the same.

1:21:04 I guess they did it because DLC was a standalone story and was balanced around not having augmentations at all. I wish there was a checkbox for disabling/enabling it though Also Tracer Tong mission is a part of a smaller DLC as well (along with explosives pack and an automatic unlocking device), according to wiki. There's also a 3rd one, but it just adds a couple of weapons basically
