As a first responder, I can affirm that knowing the difference between "a lot of screaming" and "the right amount of screaming" is important.
So agree with many years of ems and fire
Agreed. If you’re screaming, you’re breathing
lol , as a UK ambulance technician , i totally agree .. at a major incident , the ones not screaming always get my attention first

Matt put magnets on back of remote control, then you can stick it to tool box instead of leaving it on the tire. Still better to put it away, but might stop it from any more damage.
Then he's going to forget it on the tool box and it will fall off somewhere he never notices and it's gone forever.
No, make it so if you don't hold it in your hands and it's not in the place it needs to be for a minute, it starts screaming bloody murder at you until you fix the problem.

I am so impressed with Matt’s team in every situation….not a bleep have I heard , ever, to cover any four letter cuss words, or other expletive deleted words that might have been said. This makes the watching so enjoyable and rather refreshing! Supports my belief that men can have clean conversations if they choose to. And have fun without using gutter language or junior high sound effects. Salt of the earth men you are!

My thoughts exactly. It is refreshing to engage in intelligent conversation with no explicit language. This is one of my favorite shows for that reason. And I love that tow truck.
Jefe is becoming a super hero with that Bronco, Its like the gift that keeps on giving good job Matt and team.
I haven’t been the biggest fan of the new Bronco until I’ve notice how great Jefe’s is performing. He walked right up the sand shoot. Came in clutch on this rescue as well.

@@funtyes1970 you cant sustain a facade like that over many videos and years. Surely there may be raised voices and strong language at times and it likely ends up being cut, but if it was the norm, the videos would look really awkward if all of it gets cut all the time. 😉
Sems to be a generally a good mood and nice tone throughout the videos. Naturally there can be some 'internal fights' off camera, and anyone can have a bad day now and then, but my impression is Matt is a well grounded and sympatic guy, that wll not allow any bigger issues among the crew.
The drone footage was real good in this one. It shows how challenging the terrain is.
As an automotive design engineer, I am impressed at how well the wrecker does and it would have been a really fun project to work on. But it also showcases how many aspects of a design get overlooked. Jefe's Bronco is an awesome vehicle, but it has a $100 million worth of engineering that went into it and 2-3 year of development from people who know what to really look out for. The wrecker.... done on a budget and is still awesome... My hats off to Matt and his team on doing a pretty good job with limited resources.
Except for ALL of the weak points engineered into that Bronco. They've recovered a couple new Broncos with broken parts. Planned obsolescence.
Ford engineers overlooked the heck out of the Bronco tie rods and several other things...

Wow you guys make the best videos on how to be a professional towing company, top-notch, while also doing a learning class on how you should absolutely positively never ever leave your shop unprepared for the worst, while always carrying a small toolbox full of tools with the bare minimum of supplies, so much stuff like this can happen so that you don’t die out in the desert. However, about 40% of the time you wind up doing a show like this where you forget to bring simple common equipment that every tow truck should have with them at all times especially if you come there in a trailer L O L. You do awesome videos on what could go wrong very quickly very easily and how to stay calm while fixing it, dealing with it, dealing with your company there, all without dying in the desert, which is very easily done in a situation like yours. More people should praise how mentally stable you are in dangerous situations like this when everything goes wrong except your brain. You keep it together under a very stressful situation, which is very manly of you to do. It shows leadership, it shows how smart you are and keeping it together, keeping your crew together so nobody gets hurt or left behind or dies in the desert or in any other situation that you got yourself stuck in because somebody forgot to put a roll of duct tape, a combination wrench, extra nuts and bolts or other every day items, etc. etc. thank you for showing the pros and cons of a dangerous business that you do and how to be prepared and how to handle such life threatening situations while coming home every night safely. For me, I am very proud to watch these videos because I learn something every single time I watch these. I learned from all the good points as well as all the bad points. You showed it all so people like me could learn so much more so if something happens to me or to someone else, I/we know how to handle the situation because of smart people like you showing me and others how to survive and fix things when you are on your own in a dangerous area. Keep up the good work and thank you sir !!
The drone is probably one of the best new tools a rescue team like yours should always carry with them ! You alone showed several good examples of why this drone could save your life, save your equipment, get help, find people, check for road obstacles, look ahead for any potential dangers/damages, find alternative routes incase your cellphone or GPS is not working properly, etc…This alone most likely made someone put one with their gear today !
Thanks for showing how useful this is for the people who did not know this 👍🏻
Matt does whatever he can to ENSURE that the Wrecker is never full of fuel!!!

Can't waste money on fuel if the tanks always empty.
It's a good thing he wasn't full of fuel because it would have just leaked out everywhere!

The wrecker is a beast, but what's more impressive to me is watching Matt and Tom always make the amazing repairs they do using a minimum of parts and tools. Blows me away that all of these obstacles have been fixed on trails that a billy goat wouldn't care to travel over 😂 you guys rock

This video just proved how insanely bad Toyotas are off-roading!!!
You built an amazing machine! Manufacturers spend millions of dollars and years testing and still have recalls. You never know how something works until you test it in real situations! Your off road wrecker should have speakers blasting "Bad to the bone "every time you start it!
Confirms my theory that the more off-road capability you have, the further off-road you'll be when stuff happens. Pretty cool that there are people who will come get you.
Jefe and Rhett did better that a lot of others would. Several sizes and solutions and going the extra mile into the unknown and even brought more snacks than requested. Very good at compassion.

If you treat your people well, they'll treat you well in return without a second thought. My old man used to have employees that would bend over backwards on his job sites. He used to tell his employees that his policy was "Work like a man, get paid like a man." What he meant was that he expected his construction crew to work hard and do skilled work, and they in return should expect to get paid properly and treated fairly for their work.
I’m pretty sure that Jefe is Matt’s nephew as well.
Love this show. Watching the news these days leaves me really depressed. Jefe's Bronco is so much more capable off-road than I would ever have anticipated. It's essentially stock and goes well. A lot to be said for Jefe's driving skills too!
It is not stock by far, the only stock part is the engine, the suspension and gearing has been modified, if not it would never run those trails.
Don’t forget the balloon tires they put on it. That and the lockers make it and most 4x4’s into very capable machines.

2 things - that first recovery was so satisfying to watch, the wrecker made it look so easy, it was awesome. Second, that guy in the Taco had no off-road driving skills. Both spots he got stuck were driver error. No business being out there, especially alone.
The Toyota guy should definitely find another hobby - both obstacles he got "stuck" on were very obvious. It makes you wonder how authentic any of those "sponsor" stickers are...
As for the trail repair - that was impressive. You guys definitely need to start going "extra over the top" on your builds, as far as how big and strong components are.

If I remember correctly, Matt gave Jefe the Bronco. Good move considering the recent times Jefe has come to the rescue.
I believe that it is a Ford that has come to your rescue. That makes me happy as a Ford person since the 1950s, although I still enjoy watching your GM products. Keep up the good work Gents.
Very nice to see Eric again. That was a pretty tough recovery all round. You might have to go to parts for like a ten ton truck, for the driveline. Those big wheels and tires need a much heavier driveline system. The torque on it must be huge. Ed's back mining again? Wow, you go Ed. Thanks for the video.
Yeah I don’t think he has quite enough beef in the drivetrain. Might look into like an Eaton 10 speed or something. Going to that stuff will probably require a repower tho since most of the heavy stuff is designed around a diesel engine.

Matt, You are not irresponsible but responsible for putting together such a great crew that can not only help others but get yourselves out of situations that arise. Great job. You deserve the Victory Pie.
The drone is the best equipment MORR got in recent times. The ability to scout further ahead (or behind), and give another look to rescues is quite nice.
That was a completely epic rescue, rescue, rescue, rescue. Thanks for all the fun and I’m glad all of you got out safely!
Well, that was something different! LOL!! You broke the wrecker... TWICE on the same recovery!! That's why I never get tired of watching you guys. You just NEVER know when things are going to take a turn!! Hope you get the wrecker fixed soon !!!
Sometimes things just go wrong, and sometimes multiple things go wrong. I enjoyed watching all of you figure it out and get everything out of there.
I think it is time to pause the Bombi work and give the Wrecker some TLC. A few of the fixes that you have been talking about doing will make it unstoppable.
It needs a rack to carry spare drive shafts.
There is nothing irresponsible about a break down. Things happen. You can't prepare for every contingency. I only bust you when you don't fill up before you go out, or when you do cosmetic stuff before necessary stuff. You didn't fail. Both vehicles made it home. You just have some repair work to do. You might need another mechanic on staff, who can take care of the small stuff while you do the big stuff. Or you might need to train your boys to change oil, check fluids, grease the trucks, etc. so you can take care of design and building. You do good stuff, Matt. I would look at it as a pilot: you have to do your preflight check every single time. The time you don't do it is the time you crash. By the way, using the drone to scout ahead was a brilliant move. It might be useful to do that every time.
That is absolutely not a defeat, It is a win on all sides, both were awesome recoveries no matter what you say. Thank you for sharing! 👌 Great teamwork! 😊❤
Agreed. When everyone comes out alive (including the wrecker, this time), it is definitely a win. Matt's positive attitude in the face of multiple challenges is epic in my book, or maybe he has really good editors.
Your ingenuity to get out of sticky situations is always impressive. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
I find it interesting that after all of the other things that you've thrown at the wrecker (or thrown the wrecker at?), that you hit two weak points in a single, seemingly routine (for you & your crew) recovery. Great job by all for their teamwork, positivity, trail fix, etc. You definitely deserved that Victory Pie, Matt. You got the customer out (twice) and yourself, after two trail fixes. Keep up the good work!
The U joint has been coming. I don't like to be critical, but they would have noticed that U joint was going if they did proper PM.
@@bigredc222 The way Matt described the construction, with the fuel line(s) just above the driveline, and between it and a crossmember, kinda leads to a probable failure sequence here. When he backed up the slope, the wrecker was not extremely articulated, and has been through much worse conditions without ripping up the fuel lines, so would not have done so just from articulation here. But the driveline was stressed by the wheel slip while trying to back up the slope two times. There was a "click" at time 20:10. So the u-joint had been coming apart for some time (Like on the sand-trap escapade with NO functional rear lockers?) and likely nearly finished failing a few seconds earlier during the wheel scrub, started to flop around, and the click was the fuel line getting ripped apart. The engine lost torque, then RPM right after the click.
And yes, not a PM, but if he had just looked over his left shoulder, and around the diff skid-plate, Matt would have seen the u-joint in a severely distressed state when he was "Not knowing how to fix this".
And at time 30:40, again attempting to back further up the slope, the rear wheels are clearly not getting drive, and the differential yoke finally fully lets go of the cross-t, causing the next "What was that???"
PM?? - we don't need no stinkin PM's, we drive till it fails.

Yup, when you don't do things right the 1st time your problem solving skillzzz are always gr8!
Problem No. 1. Unskilled customer trying to drive offroad🙂
Out of curiosity why did camera blur at 14:37 when showing the brush?
Matt, That wrecker is a BEAST!! It’s so fun to watch that thing work and win 😎
A real beast indeed. Goes into the bush and blows up a fuel line.
Edit: and the driveshaft breaks too. A real "beast". I have no doubt it will get there, but its not a beast yet.

💯it's soup sandwich 😮 back in the military we used another term but I don't think it's appropriate for RUclips😂😂😂
I miss Lis climbing into all the sketchy vehicles with a weird combination of fear and joy lol
Oh my gosh what a day mentally and physical but as always a learning experience thank you can't wait to see the updates on wrecker repair 😊
The Wrecker looks like such a capable desert monster from up above - love the drone shots of that truck as it looks so hunkered down and just crawls through wherever it wants to go. It's got a Spirit and a Soul, and its hungry.
That one shot overhead made it look like a toy.
you see a toy, I see a terrain tarantula @@robertgraham7245
That was a Humble Pie this time...Great Job over coming the situation and making it out!
I love how Matt stops and explains the basics of living out west. I do love the arid climate for sure, I could never go back to the Midwest and live with humidity. It's terrible in both winter and summer. Ha
We Floridians envy those dry climates, though rain now and then is nice. 😊
On today's episode - Matt made a call and got a shirt from the Jefe and Rhett. You are great at adapting and over coming your issues, so that deserves a victory pie.
The airline joke was gold, good to see everyone was safe and made it out. Love the content keep it up team
The drone shots enhance your channel significantly. Thank you.
At one point, I could hear the buzz of the drone. 😊
I've been watching Matt's Recovery for quite awhile and I have never heard so much as 1 cuss word or even a hateful word come from any of em and that says alot about the kind of people they really truly are..May God always bless each and everyone of em and keep em safe always cause they go into some very very rough country and I can only imagine what it's like in person bein in the places they go cause we can't really have an idea of what it's like unless we're standing on the same ground that they're standing and driving on..
Ok another tough recovery and Matt and the Team learned a new road on this recovery and the biggest wrecker broke a driveshaft! Matt also had trouble with the fuel line that will need to be fixed for the future operation. Jefe and Rhett to the rescue! Two recovery's awesome!
This is the third or fourth time he's broken the drive shaft on the wrecker.
@Matt, I think you should make a flat tow bar to connect to your pintle and to the front of the towed vehicle while it's connected to the winches. This could avoid the towed vehicle rolling into this awesome wrecker.
There's nothing to hook it up to on most vehicles. And it would pivot side to side unless it's a triangle like on a tractor. They better put something like cushioning blocks on the back of the wrecker, like on the back of semi trailers for backing up to a ramp.
That off-road Wrecker is a real monster. I remember the episode when you laid down the frame and welded it up. You have come a very long way since then. I have watched the channel since before the newer banana and way before the Morrvair and the off-road Wrecker.
Well, your working your way through all the bugs in the wrecker and its constantly improving. Fortunately you have been able to make trail repair. I think that shows your build forethought and quality.
I have to give you and your entire crew a huge amount of credit because I was tired and done 3/4 the way through this Odyssey wear in gods name do you guys continue to get the energy and persistence to keep going time and again! This appears to be like your normal state! I saw it when you guys did that high mountain truck recovery that several others tried and failed but you guys “got ‘em out”! WELL DONE GUYS!!!!!
Matt, I think you DID deserve th' Victory Pie. You rescued th' Customer 2X AND th' Wrecker 2X. Yessir, you earned that pie.
Matt lives by my motto, “Be safe, but live dangerously!” Love you and your crews sense of adventure Matt. I really enjoy these videos and often find that I’ve smiled almost the whole way through, only interrupted by a wince or two or three. One day you’ll have to come down to Florida again for an Adventure Out of The Deep!
We saw you all working on the H in the cities live stream. It's great that you and your crew put so much back in your community.
Looks like “the customer” has about as much business being on that trail as I do…which is none.😁
Yeah I can understand the first time he got stuck due to the loose material but the second time it looks like he chose the worst line possible. Maybe a fun line but this wasn't exactly the situation to be picking dumb lines for fun.
@@NiSE_RafterHe definitely needs to work on his decision making and his driving skills. I noticed that both times he got stuck on the driver's side - looks like he's fixating on the obstacle and driving into trouble instead of around it. Plus he's breaking the cardinal rule of safe wheeling: never wheel alone.
@@AndrewAMartin Ya know I'm just realizing all these recoveries are solo guys (or tourist rentals who don't know better). That rule definitely exists for a reason. These guys often don't have any self recovery gear or emergency supplies either 😱
You're always giving back to the community Matt. Hurricane is lucky to have you.
y'all are the Metallica of off road recovery. I just want to be on-record saying that.

Hey Matt, my grandpa "engineered" a fix for just such occasions as 11:00. He mounted a lawn sprinkler on his 67 Ford F250 so that it would spray at the middle of the radiator at 55mph. It was fed from a 5 gallon bucket in the bed of the truck with a pond pump. He specifically designed the system to provide extra cooling climbing Fourth of July Pass crossing from Idaho into Montana. I think the Off Road Wrecker would definitely benefit from a similar system.
27:00 Gonna get someone killed? Irresponsible? Whatever Matt. Your team is one of the most responsible, capable, and adaptable teams I have ever seen, even with a military recovery background. I'm pretty sure that I have the entire western United States behind me when I say that if I _ever_ need to be recovered in an off-road situation that you are the first, last, and _only_ team I would trust to get it right.
Never seen someone tint their front windshield... or drive into a deep water hole...
Edit: Probably why he didn't see the hole, right ?
Love the sound of the wrecker reminds me of a spitfire on low flight idle. Awesome.
Anyone who 4x4’s by themselves, is on the dangerous side. We always have a backup buggy. Your not risking anyone’s lives. Keep on going Matt. Your my favourite channel.
People complaining about the Wrecker don't seem to understand that it's not done. It's still in early shake down. It took Rory years to dial in Trailmater.
Loved this episode. The Wrecker is a beast. I look forward to the day it's dialed in. Also, you should set up the Suzuki as a buggy. So it can run parts up in an emergency and can get anywhere quickly. It wouldn't necessarily be for recovery.
Keep up the amazing videos. Been watching from day 1 and haven't missed one yet.
This has always bin my dream to be apart of a crew like this but hell love how i feel part of every journey you guys show
Matt, your ability to stay cool and not get upset, snippy, etc is awe inspiring. I aspire to that level of cool.
For how often you’re splashing water on the rad, perhaps rig up a windshield washer nozzle in front of the rad with a switch in the cab to spray it down on the go!
Back in 1972 my brother did that for his 1959 1 ton Chevy Panel. Works very well.
Or maybe fix the fan shroud that was 1/2 done.
I feel like that guy got stuck again on purpose so he could hang out with matt
