We received one of these beautiful caskets for my daughter when she died as a newborn. It was so wonderful, and I still cherish the cross that I got to keep from the top of her casket. They also sent out a card to remember her years later. As someone that has had a child die, it is so special to have someone recognize her and how important her short life was. Also the casket was just beautiful!

I am so sorry. When anyone tells me their child died, I just don’t think “I’m sorry” is adequate. But, bless you and your family. My husband is getting one of their caskets.

My husband and his father worked at the (closed) Marsellus Casket Company in Syracuse NY. They made the finest hard wood caskets in the nation. He worked in several departments. He worked in delivery to deliver caskets to funeral homes. Also polishing for a glass finish, then finally Finishing........he put the hinges and lids on the casket. I got a chance to go see him do a casket. WOW! Unfortunately, Marsellus closed due to people buying cheaper caskets.
They even kept a casket for very high profile people that passed. The very hi end casket was used by Presidents, wives and important people. One example was former President Lyndon Johnson and his wife, Ladybird. I was so saddened by it closing. My husband got “laid off.” He ended up working at Chrysler Auto plant, which also closed. He passed about 10 years ago. 💕

I’m crying through this. Mainly because I’ve had too many losses recently, one young man who is younger than me,about 42, who’s memorial service I will have to miss today for health reasons. It breaks my heart I can’t be there. But, I’m going to share this with my 3 sisters. My mother, who is in great health right now, is 76 and eventually we will have to face her death. Trappist’s simple pine casket would be perfect for her. Not at all because of the price, but because it just represents her so perfectly. A simple, what you see is what you get woman who has lived the majority of her life in the Piney Woods of North Louisiana. It’s just her. She would love it! And even though we’re Southern Baptist, she’d be proud to be laid to rest in a casket blessed by a monk. I’ve bookmarked their site so I can show this to my sisters. I think we’ll have no trouble at all agreeing it has her written all over it.
Another place you might be interested in checking into is Angola State Prison here in Louisiana. I doubt you’d actually get to go on a tour, but interviews might not be out of the question. They make absolutely beautiful caskets. Billy Graham was actually buried in one they made. And they are made by the prisoners there. Every single one.

I am ordering two caskets for my husband & me when we need them from the Monks. I have personally spoken to them and they truly do care deeply for every person that will need their caskets. It is a great comfort to me to know they will be praying for me while making it. They never rush you, ask you kind questions and just generally get to know you before the work is begun so they can pray for your family as well as myself. No "Big Box Store" type final bed for me thank you. May God Bless you all..you too Miss Kari, for all the blessings you deliver. That was the four bladed ceiling fan (obviously running in reverse @12:32) in multiple clips. This is a fan which is private labeled by a company named Rite-Hite as "The Revolution" model, while we are the manufacturer Moore Fans LLC of Marceline, MO.

Many people are unaware that they have the option to purchase funeral products such as caskets and urns online. Many of the big-box retailers such as WalMart, CostCo, and Sam’s Club offer caskets and there are a number of large, reputable online retailers. Costs can be considerably lower than buying through a funeral home and the shopping can be done from the comfort of your own home.

Oh Kari,I just watched the video about the Monks in Iowa.Everything that was discussed is so true.Last May our granddaughter was going camping with her maternal grandmother, her cousins were also in the vehicle. It crossed the center line an hit a semi head on she, grandma an one of her cousins were killed instantly, the other cousin survived. The funeral home called our son the next day an ask him to call the gentleman in charge.Upon calling he was told about the donation of children's caskets an ask if they could donate three caskets for the deceased. He was so caught off guard he could hardly speak,he was soon able to collect his thoughts an thanked them for their beautiful an kind offer. They told him they would contact the funeral home for information an he had enough to worry about .They told him the caskets would arrive in plenty time for the services. He told (our) son that is one less thing for him to worry about. We were unable to travel to Iowa so our son had a photographer video the services so we can watch it,we still haven't watched it.A few weeks later he came down for a visit an gave his dad an I a beautiful wooden cross with Ashleighs name carved on it.One of the nicest gifts ever given to us.They are angels on earth an the kindness of the kind.Thank you for making the trip an the video. You are the best Kari may God Bless you an your adorable girls. Becky

Very interesting, I found out about them a few years ago as I am a pastor and was trying to help families needing childrens caskets. The children died in a horrible wreck

Trapper Monk Casket Company seems to appear as a very nice company. Also, I like Batesville and National casket companies, since I was very young. The contributions that Trapper Monk Casket are impressive. This video dazzled my interest in the funeral directing field. I am delighted that you had a full tour of the Trapper Monk Casket Company. I hope that your endeavors will be well-rewarded in good measure.
