    i remember watching cars when i was young (i'm european and back then didn't even know nascar even exists [i just thought they made an oval to make it easier to understand the race]) and "King" was the most beautiful car i've ever seen with that rear wing and the iconic sharp nose at the front and i only realized this was a tribute to an actual car after being in my twenties already...

    Pixar played a great homage to ''The King'' in the Cars movie. I had to show my grandkids King Richard did exist. Even at 60 years old I can still watch that ''cartoon'' just for all the racing references.
    My Dad built a dirt track car in the early 60's at a small Idaho town. He said it went bad when you could no longer kick the windshield out of an old car and throw in wire screen. Faster cars make more rules...

    Chevrolet was invisible in NASCAR from 1964 until around 1974. The big block Chevy didn’t have the durability or the horsepower to be competitive.
