  • This might be a replica, recreation or tribute, NOT SURE, but it definitely sounded great and it sold 1.3 Million dollars and with buyers premium, 1.4 Million so its obviously worth something to someone. It did look great and I saw this car in 2005 at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance but got limited (digital memory cards weren't that big then) pictures of it, so regardless it was nice to see and hear it again. It's in the Bobby Allison Coca Cola #22 livery.

    Imagine how much power that engine would have with all of modern engine building tricks including unlimited compression roller cams, heat treatments, while still running a carburetor and still be 426 CI.

      above the front wheels? to allow the car to be lowered and have the wheels have extra clearance.

    • @daleflinchum3244
      @daleflinchum3244 6 месяцев назад +3

      The intake is basically the ram air 2x4 drag car intake with the top cut off and a removable plate installed for the single carb while lowering the mounting flange to give clearance for the cowl to carb air cleaner. A much better setup than any runner type intake that fed off the smaller plenum which required a much higher carb mount.

    The fellow trying to crank the car needs to learn how the pump the throttle while cranking the motor. Good way to blow the top plate off the manifold by continually spinning the motor until it backfires.

      @alexander1485  6 месяцев назад

      It wasn't banned. It was just banned from the Winged body style, it still went on in the standard charger body (which was re designed in 1971) and eventually stopped being made cause of the fuel crisis.

    • @bultacowally
      @bultacowally 5 месяцев назад

      @@alexander1485 Yes it was banned. All the Mopar teams ran the 426 with wedge heads until the big block engines were outlawed. After 1970 the wing cars could still race but had to use a small block.

    If Nascar set the standard by these cars rather than the pieces of crap they use today there would be a lot more viewership and it wouldnt be a dying breed.
