Eggs are loaded with phospholipids, choline, and biotin. Egg yolks also contain vitamin K2, the vitamin that helps transport calcium through the body and helps avoid calcification in the arteries and joints.
Make sure you get organic, pasture-raised eggs. Counter to what many people suggest, eggs do not cause high cholesterol.

Thanks for watching. I hope this helped explain why egg yolks are highly nutritious and should not be removed from egg whites. I’ll see you in the next video.
you forgot one important thing it tastes much better
Right!
Emma Morano lived to 117yrs old eating 3 eggs a day for most of her life, two raw one cooked with bacon. she was advised be her doctor to eat 2 raw eggs for her anemia as a teenager carried on doing for the rest of her life. perhaps the eggs did not contribute to her long life but they sure didn't hurt.
Maybe she would have made it to 120 if she didn't eat so many eggs.
maybe it was the bacon or not being on the internet or maybe it was the clothing she wore 🥸
THANK YOU! I'm sick of people saying to only eat egg whites!

Another brilliant video, Doc! I really love your succinct and easy-to-understand videos. After 2 back surgeries in the past, I put on a lot of weight. My body was damaged by statin drugs and years of opiate-based pain medicines. Following your counsel, I have lost 51 lbs. so far, overcame Type 2 diabetes, and have significantly reduced inflammation. I haven't had a pain pill since October last year. I went from sleeping 3.5-4 hours / night to sleeping 7-8 hours / night. I feel better than I have in years am an now back at the gym and still beating my son at racquetball. I am so grateful for your wonderful educational information -- and listen to you several times / week. I like the joint videos you did with Thomas DeLauer as well. Thanks so much for all you do to help others.
I never could fathom why some people would only eat egg whites, this video really helps me know I wasn't thinking crazy... love this guy so smart
Great video. Your lighting is excellent and makes your videos really professional and well staged!
Thank you for the great lesson and the following helpful texts.
Excellent message :-) Thanks for sharing this :-)
Great information. Thanks 😁
My sister always used to pick out the yolk from her hard boiled eggs, and I would eat them. I did nothing wrong.
Thanks for good information Dr. Eric berg
Thank you! I typically eat two eggs a day, scrambled or in an omelet with veggies, but had a slight guilt about it due to the overhyped worry about cholesterol. My doctors (I have multiple because I have hypothyroidism and had thyroid cancer) have said "yeah, eggs are ok.", but they never explained why like you have. This will help me lose that guilt!
Your just to good Dr Berg. thanks for a another amazing Video!!
Thanks dr berg ♥♥
I'm addicted to your videos

Why would anyone choose just one or another? Eat whole eggs....
arekdbz3 that's what the Doctor is trying to tell us😊
arekdbz3 did you not see the video?
'why would anyone choose just one or another?'
it's called a rhetorical question. hope that helps ;)

Great info Dr. Berg thank you! ....a bar chart would be helpful tho
Additional FYI - Duck eggs are even more nutritious than chicken eggs, and are alkaline
Plus people who are allergic to chicken eggs can have duck eggs
Robin Molison . I incubate fertile duck eggs for 18 days, balut, make sure it's alive, cook it and enjoy it. Best protein and nutrition protected by an alkaline shell. Pure food.
Robin Molison I love duck egg spacily salted one☺
Balut is very acquired taste. It is a matter of mind over food when eating these. Thank you for mentioning the unusual food.
Robin Molison I'd like to try duck eggs. Don't know where I'd get them from tho
How to identify duck eggs in the market?
thank you
Thanks Dr. Berg. I'm glad I never gave up my egg AND their yolks!!!
Thank you!!!
Exactly what I was looking for. I always think that taking off the yolk when dieting is a waste. This justifies it. Thanks doc!
My three 5 year old pasture tractored hens average 2 eggs a day. They get a cup each of soaked grain at sunset when I move them forward to fresh grass and collect the eggs. The 2 eggs go into my breakfast smoothie the next morning with an avocado, nuts, home made raw whole milk yogurt and apple/berry pulp. P.S. the chickens are cultivating and fertilizing between the rows of berry vines and apple trees. Then I am ready to see clients and work on Qberry Farm
I eat 2 to 4 eggs everyday (whole egg) My cholesterol and health are perfect. I dont like to waste the egg and i want all the protein in it.
Thanks for setting the record straight.
EAT THE GOD DAMN WHOLE EGG..STOP WASTING FOOD!
TroJohnss potty mouth
The point was to show that yolks are filled nutrition - and of course you want to eat the whole thing
Boil, bake and grind up the shells. 1tsp a day in ur smoothie. Excellent source of calcium

we cann't eat something that touches hen's inside anus ....

You still alive?
been eating 5 to 6 whole eggs daily while on intermittent fasting .... however, it increased my LDL - C to 150, it also increased my HDL as well and fasting lowered my triglycerides to 55
Find a place that serves "egg-White omelettes" and ask for extra yolks in your omelette, I had a two egg four yolk omelette the other day at a restaurant it was delicious.
Thanks for the video, I live in a small city, and also have a Ranch near the city. I know the eggs I'm eating is healthy, but those who live in bigger cities don't have the same eggs I have.
Hello doc, I have fatty liver and avoiding eggs since last 2 years as my doc said so. But now I learnt new concept.. Is it really safe to eat as my glucose and cholesterol levels are moderately high.
I used to eat 4 every morning. I have been consuming 5 since like 1 month. And i feel great. Pasture raised chicken eggs are kinda hard to get.
good morning ILike all yor information that you give. what can i eat to get vitamin K 17?
What is the best way to cook the egg yolk? sunny side up or boiled? How do we eat butter for Vitamin A?
Thank you, Dr. Berg
I made a egg yolk smoothie today. Some raspberries, one banana, half a lemon with peel and 6 raw egg yolks. It was delicious! And then I took the rosita extra virgin cod liver oil.
thank u sir
Dr Berg, thank you a lot for your lectures here. Please explain me. My calculated daily protein is near 70 grams. If I have near 20 grams of proteins per meal and 2 meals, my daily protein consumption is 40-50 grams. Is there the upper limit of fatty (not lean) protein per meal? Have I to elevate my meal protein up to 35-40 grams to maintain its daily consumption?
Doc has got some humour. I eat 4 eggs every morning and I am still alive lol.
Nitesh Agrawal you have high cholesterol
first you should learn about types of cholesterol
Raw or cooked?
Thats totally fine this guy eats 4 / day since 20 years.
SleeplessinOC cooked, but keep the yolk as fluid as possible, not completly hard.
Thanks for all the information that you provide us through your hard work. Does genetic defector means running in family, hereditary? If yes, should we avoid eating eggs?
Dr. Berg since we are worried about calcium build up in our arteries should I not be taking a Ca supplement?
Dr b, greetings, I just might do more yolks from now on.
Egg , chicken egg for that matter is a nearly a perfect food in a shell. No need to dissect it. Just consume the lot. You don't need to be a scientist to know egg is good and maybe bad for you.
Said Ufuk 😀. Thanks . I know that. Most don't.
The problem is, because we do not sit on a doctors chair, no one will listen. My missus won't even listen to me. Hahaha 😀
Been telling people to eat the whole egg for years! Though I didn't know all the list of nutrients was so extensive! 🌟 💪👍 🌟
One of my main meals, 3 or 4 eggs a day, every day!
Dr.Berg , thank you . Would you please tell us what part of the egg contains lectins.
... unless you have a failed/dysfunctionl gallbladder, in which case they make you clog up (got that myself)? In that case, google for Eric Berg videos on gallbladder, and while hearling gallbladder, supplement with ox bile (and perhaps with HCL + pepsin + betain + pancreatic enzymes).
Hey Doc! Can u make a video about fruit ? And How to put it in a diet without gaining weight ?? Especially after keto? Thank uuuu
can you bring the board closer, can't see it, plus the markers you use is not dark enough
Beauty In J screen shot it & zoom in...that’s what I do to save and look over his boards :)
I do screen shots but it’s tricky to not take it while info is blocked. It would be nice to get a zoomed in shot so we can pause it or take a the screen of the board for a few seconds before he starts.
Hello dr. Berg what is the link between choline and tmao there is a case study about this causing cardiovascular disease
There is an Italian dessert called UOVO SBATTUTO (eggs beaten). It’s a very simple, easy to make and delicious treat. It’s Egg yolks and sugar mixed very well. Look it up, make it and enjoy!
yeah the eggs that I get are feed non gmo feed. I was happy to find them ever since you made the point about the "vegan fed diet." again great video.
That means those chickens are being fed grains, not grass....at least, that's what it means in all the eggs i've seen marked "vegan fed" as opposed to "grass fed/pasture raised"
Should we have raw eggs like rocky ?
sir I have egg allergy stomach pain after consuming egg , Is leaky gut causing egg allergy? Is gluten is bad for health ?should everyone avoid gluten or only celiac patients?
luv the Chanel, but the sound is always low... hard yo hear and its all worth hearing.
Dr. Berg, what to do if phase 2 detoxification pathway of the liver is clogged?

Good Job Doctor I Realized what is the truth Thanks
Being from the uk we don’t have pasture raised eggs.
We only really have free range I believe as the good/better eggs.
How many eggs with yolks are considered to be good for someone who is active 5-6 days a week .in terms of workout
In Belgium we have k3
Dr. Berg, here we go again, please read this article & make a video if you would as a reply. I also heard in Chicago O'Hare on the radio that Northwestern Hospital and or university said that the egg yolks for bad also this keeps going back and forth and I've been studying nutrition for years and I tend to agree with you and dr. Mercola serious I would really appreciate if you could reply to this
And another question for infections in the urine? what to do ?
Could anyone, please tell me; is it good to consume; Full boiled eggs, is it great/ better to consume only the full boiled yoke, instead of the whole egg? Dose the egg lose nutrients if; fully boiled/ steamed?
hey Doctor what's yours take on synthetically prepared multivitamins Vs derived from whole foods?
Many of the synthetic vitamins are not real, but rather mimic a vitamin molecule. Therefore most are not very effective and usually have side effects.
You should try to stay away from them, unless you are having real difficulty eating real natural food.
Synthetic are better than no vitamin.
But real vitamins are better than synthetic.
Don't waste your money on vitamins. Just take some kind of super food. A lot of them are sold in powders you can just mix in to a smoothie or whatever you want. The healthiest ones are low carb. Acai, noni, mangosteen and maqui berry are all low carb I believe, and of course wheat grass.
Well Eric also said to not eat the egg yolks to stop insulin triggers and the hgh blockers if your working out then he makes a video about how we should eat eggs.
How do you cook your eggs? To cook the whites but leave the yolk relatively raw? So what...soft boiled eggs? Please can you share how you prepare them? Thank you.
Do eggs (omega 6 in egg yolks in particular) cause inflammation?
Are the nutrients of American eggs the same in Europe?
Btw thanks for your video's, I used to believe that eggs were bad so I rarely ate them, and if I did only one a day. Now I've been eating two every day with avocado's and other veggies in lunch. Delish!
Dr. Berg, if you're looking for another video idea, I have one that your audience may be into; cold showers. I've been taking cold showers for about 3 months and I'm down to the lowest weight I've been at since I was a teenager (no exaggeration) without any real exercise. I've been following 95% of your dietary recommendations for quite a bit longer than that, also.
Thank you for the good information! Now I don't feel guilty about eating 3 eggs for breakfast every day.
the egg-withes is packed with amino acid which is IMPORTANT for to absorbed protein which is happens to be in the egg yolk.....
" you wanna get pasture raised [eggs], not pasteurized" lol
Love your videos! My question is if you ate four eggs a day is that the whole egg? And if it is why are you eating the whites? Just trying to understand. Thanks
Interestingly amazing infor Dr Berg... I do eat the entire egg...Thanks
YOU DO IT IN THE RIGHT WAY
the ever green classic doctor. my movie star
In 5:50 you said u consume 4 eggs / day. Do you eat them fried or do you boil them ? They say it' s important the way you consume them ( if they are fried they say you can not absorb/ you don' t get all the nutrients). Is that true ?
ioana r. Eat them poached as this stops the cholesterol from oxidising which is dangerous to your body. Frying them is the worst thing you could do. Dont eat more than 2 eggs a day as it taxes the kidneys. Dont agree with Dr Berg eating 4 everyday. High intake of egg whites linked to breast cancer.
@@angelocomino4875 that is absolutely not true, that only happens when a process called extrusion, which is subjecting foods to really high heat to pulverize them, which happens mostly in factories, is done, not with a regular stove.
But some says if you dont cook it well, you could get sick. What is the truth?
Hey Dr.Berg. Can you do a video on beard growth and whats helps beard growth?
Lots of beef and liver and strong stomach acid to absorb all the vitamins :)
I know its off topic slightly, but I feed my cats raw egg yolk mixed with a little bit of cream and they love it. If I given them egg yolk and cream with their evening meal (raw venison), they will not eat again all the next day until evening. However if I give them tinned food, they are ravenous within 4 to 5 hours and demand 3 meals a day. So with egg = 1 meal. No egg = 3 meals. Another way of looking at it is whole foods versus tinned red slime aka soya, grains, feathers and other stomach fillers. (Little wonder why the explosion of diabetes in cats and dogs) . My question is regarding how often can I feed them an egg yolk. Currently they get one yolk between both of them. I would love to feed them a yolk daily but I see mixed responses to whether this is right for cats. Can anyone advise?
Only eating the yolk seems like the best option
Is there anyway to null they effect of raw egg whites binding to biotin??
I buy organic but the package says free range . I don't see any eggs that are pasture raised. Am I buying good eggs?
So keep your sunny side up.
I'm just sure that ancient humans separated the white from the yolk when they discovered bird nests while starving after their long trek crossing the Serengeti.
Pretty sure they even ate the shell. Calcium yum!
Tina Huston 😂😂😂
And they also didn't stray from natural foods like fruit, potatoes and such.
This is were I can't get on board with the low carb side.
Eat predominately natural foods and you will be pretty well alright.
But how often did the eat eggs? Eating eggs on a regular basis wasnt possible until farming became a thing. That's something to consider.
@@joemann7971 I agree. Eating a few eggs at a time is realistic in nature, not a dozen in one sitting. I find when I eat over a dozen eggs a day I have digestive issues. If I only eat a few I'm fine.
hey doc, if i am consuming 60% carb 30% protein and 10% fat.
I know my body uses those 60% carb for energy and if it is in excess it stores it as fat. But my doubt is what happens to that 10% fat that i ate ? Does it get stored because i am using carb as fuel ? I mean where does that 10% fat tat i consumed goes ?
Should I drink just the raw York with my kefir or should I get the mortal thing to crush up the shell and drink that too.
do u still eat the eggshells , what did u notice since eating the eggshell ?
yummy i do prefer the yolk since i was i child never was a fan of whites🎉🎊
I noticed eggs can make me feel sick but not the yolk. So that's good that the yolk has just as much protein
Hey Eric, I really enjoy your content and am a pretty new arrival binging through.
I have a question though, do you have any tips for diet to a nightshift worker? I work 7 days a row at night at a hotel. Not only as an receptionist during a shift I'm also security, bartender, conference and general cleaner haha. Might sound wierd but that's the curse of working at a medium sized hotel. Except for the labor the body does during every night for hours (and terrible pay :p) when I'm free I'm so fatigued and unmotivated. I used to exercise regurarely and also trying to be a good "health nut". Mostly only buying organic since 6 years back even when unemployed haha. But now after soon 2 years of this job I'm cheating with health and I yearn to get back on my feet and be happy and a bit more self confident again.
I've been looking at feasting and no sugar (which I've tried before in a project I did for school back in the past. Was amazing.) But I don't know if working out, feasting and all this is recommended when you work night.. I'm suppose to be free one week work one week. But usually have to jump in extra or just tur ing ur days back and forth makes it feel like three free days.
Long message I know, very thankful for any tips! Keep up the good work!
Egg is high in Choline. There are views that Choline is good for brain, there are views that Choline may be a factor of Prostate Cancer. Need to seek your advice on this. Thanks.
I don't understand why it has to be seperated? Or is it really has to be? Why is it important?
I have a lot of eggs stacking up from my chickens because I am on day 15 of a fast and I plan on using all the yolks to make some keto ice cream. I will probably cook up the whites for my puppy:)
Interesting, but how do you prepare the egg for best results
What do you do with the egg white, it seems a shame just to throw it away?
