    0:13 Egg yolk vs. egg whites - which one is healthier?
    3:39 Why eggs don’t cause high cholesterol
    4:45 The best kinds of eggs to buy
    In this video, we’re going to talk about the benefits of egg yolks vs. egg whites. Which is healthier?
    Most people believe that egg whites are far healthier than egg yolks. However, the data tells a different story. Take a look.
    EGG WHITE EGG YOLK
    Protein 3.6g 2.7g
    Calcium 2.3mg 21.9mg
    Phosphorus 5mg 66.3mg
    Potassium 53mg 18.5mg
    Sodium 54mg 8.2mg
    Zinc 0.1mg 0.4mg
    Selenium 6.6mcg 9.5mcg
    B1 .01mg 0.3mg
    Folate 1.3mcg 24.8mcg
    B12 0.03mcg .331mcg
    A 0IU 245IU
    E 0IU .684IU
    D 0IU 18.3IU
    K 0IU .119IU
    DHA 0mg 94mg
    Carotine 0mcg 21mcg
    Eggs are loaded with phospholipids, choline, and biotin. Egg yolks also contain vitamin K2, the vitamin that helps transport calcium through the body and helps avoid calcification in the arteries and joints.
    Make sure you get organic, pasture-raised eggs. Counter to what many people suggest, eggs do not cause high cholesterol.

    Emma Morano lived to 117yrs old eating 3 eggs a day for most of her life, two raw one cooked with bacon. she was advised be her doctor to eat 2 raw eggs for her anemia as a teenager carried on doing for the rest of her life. perhaps the eggs did not contribute to her long life but they sure didn't hurt.

    Another brilliant video, Doc! I really love your succinct and easy-to-understand videos. After 2 back surgeries in the past, I put on a lot of weight. My body was damaged by statin drugs and years of opiate-based pain medicines. Following your counsel, I have lost 51 lbs. so far, overcame Type 2 diabetes, and have significantly reduced inflammation. I haven't had a pain pill since October last year. I went from sleeping 3.5-4 hours / night to sleeping 7-8 hours / night. I feel better than I have in years am an now back at the gym and still beating my son at racquetball. I am so grateful for your wonderful educational information -- and listen to you several times / week. I like the joint videos you did with Thomas DeLauer as well. Thanks so much for all you do to help others.

    My three 5 year old pasture tractored hens average 2 eggs a day. They get a cup each of soaked grain at sunset when I move them forward to fresh grass and collect the eggs. The 2 eggs go into my breakfast smoothie the next morning with an avocado, nuts, home made raw whole milk yogurt and apple/berry pulp. P.S. the chickens are cultivating and fertilizing between the rows of berry vines and apple trees. Then I am ready to see clients and work on Qberry Farm

    hey Doctor what's yours take on synthetically prepared multivitamins Vs derived from whole foods?

    • @tyrelgoldberg661
      @tyrelgoldberg661 7 лет назад +2

      Many of the synthetic vitamins are not real, but rather mimic a vitamin molecule. Therefore most are not very effective and usually have side effects.
      You should try to stay away from them, unless you are having real difficulty eating real natural food.
      Synthetic are better than no vitamin.
      But real vitamins are better than synthetic.

      Don't waste your money on vitamins. Just take some kind of super food. A lot of them are sold in powders you can just mix in to a smoothie or whatever you want. The healthiest ones are low carb. Acai, noni, mangosteen and maqui berry are all low carb I believe, and of course wheat grass.

    How do you cook your eggs? To cook the whites but leave the yolk relatively raw? So what...soft boiled eggs? Please can you share how you prepare them? Thank you.

    Btw thanks for your video's, I used to believe that eggs were bad so I rarely ate them, and if I did only one a day. Now I've been eating two every day with avocado's and other veggies in lunch. Delish!

    Dr. Berg, if you're looking for another video idea, I have one that your audience may be into; cold showers. I've been taking cold showers for about 3 months and I'm down to the lowest weight I've been at since I was a teenager (no exaggeration) without any real exercise. I've been following 95% of your dietary recommendations for quite a bit longer than that, also.

    In 5:50 you said u consume 4 eggs / day. Do you eat them fried or do you boil them ? They say it' s important the way you consume them ( if they are fried they say you can not absorb/ you don' t get all the nutrients). Is that true ?

    • @angelocomino4875
      @angelocomino4875 7 лет назад +4

      ioana r. Eat them poached as this stops the cholesterol from oxidising which is dangerous to your body. Frying them is the worst thing you could do. Dont eat more than 2 eggs a day as it taxes the kidneys. Dont agree with Dr Berg eating 4 everyday. High intake of egg whites linked to breast cancer.

    • @KaryluzPalacioVega
      @KaryluzPalacioVega 4 года назад

      @@angelocomino4875 that is absolutely not true, that only happens when a process called extrusion, which is subjecting foods to really high heat to pulverize them, which happens mostly in factories, is done, not with a regular stove.

    I know its off topic slightly, but I feed my cats raw egg yolk mixed with a little bit of cream and they love it. If I given them egg yolk and cream with their evening meal (raw venison), they will not eat again all the next day until evening. However if I give them tinned food, they are ravenous within 4 to 5 hours and demand 3 meals a day. So with egg = 1 meal. No egg = 3 meals. Another way of looking at it is whole foods versus tinned red slime aka soya, grains, feathers and other stomach fillers. (Little wonder why the explosion of diabetes in cats and dogs) . My question is regarding how often can I feed them an egg yolk. Currently they get one yolk between both of them. I would love to feed them a yolk daily but I see mixed responses to whether this is right for cats. Can anyone advise?

    hey doc, if i am consuming 60% carb 30% protein and 10% fat.
    I know my body uses those 60% carb for energy and if it is in excess it stores it as fat. But my doubt is what happens to that 10% fat that i ate ? Does it get stored because i am using carb as fuel ? I mean where does that 10% fat tat i consumed goes ?

    Hey Eric, I really enjoy your content and am a pretty new arrival binging through.
    I have a question though, do you have any tips for diet to a nightshift worker? I work 7 days a row at night at a hotel. Not only as an receptionist during a shift I'm also security, bartender, conference and general cleaner haha. Might sound wierd but that's the curse of working at a medium sized hotel. Except for the labor the body does during every night for hours (and terrible pay :p) when I'm free I'm so fatigued and unmotivated. I used to exercise regurarely and also trying to be a good "health nut". Mostly only buying organic since 6 years back even when unemployed haha. But now after soon 2 years of this job I'm cheating with health and I yearn to get back on my feet and be happy and a bit more self confident again.
    I've been looking at feasting and no sugar (which I've tried before in a project I did for school back in the past. Was amazing.) But I don't know if working out, feasting and all this is recommended when you work night.. I'm suppose to be free one week work one week. But usually have to jump in extra or just tur ing ur days back and forth makes it feel like three free days.
    Long message I know, very thankful for any tips! Keep up the good work!
