The story of Dragon Ball Super has continued, albeit in the manga. However, you might have heard about Dragon Ball's NEXT VILLAIN in the form of Moro, the space goat! Or is he a goat? Turns out we might have been wrong about that...as well as many other things. Let's look at what Toyotaro and Toriyama borrowed from to make this new wizard!
Moro is quite intense in the manga, does this have something to do with his roots and origins? We discuss all the different backgrounds that the Dragon Ball Super manga may have and if they play a major role in his creation by Toyotaro and Toriyama in DBS.

I wish that Moro kept his beard when he regained his youth. Having it be wild and bushy was great for him when he was old and decrepit but rather than lose it outright, I'd have had it be thinner but long enough to work with it to make it imposing. Beards need more love in Dragonball after all.

I always felt like he looked very menacing and mysterious with his cloak and old looking appearance and beard. Anime in general needs more bearded characters. Seriously, there's barely any major bearded characters.
I hope Moro is adapted into the new season of Dragon Ball Super when it returns. Hes such a refreshing villain.

Maybe one day they'll end up finally going there and Uub won't be wasted.

@@AitorMolina. I havn't watched the english dub of DBS, as for the spanish dub, i have watched 2 or 3 chapters. I can't say what they'll do about the name, but the will probably leave it as moro

Being real though, "most evil Dragon Ball villain ever" is quite a hurdle to jump, when the average villain's crimes in Dragon Ball starts with genocide and only goes up from there. I'm honestly scared to learn of what Moro can do now.
What I find most striking is that Moro's name resembles Moros, the Greek primordial deity of doom who gave rise to the Moirai; three witch-like sisters who spin the threads of destiny assigned to every mortal's immortal soul. The obvious comparison here is that Moro has the unique ability to manipulate the primal energies that constitute life itself.
Moros was an imperturbable force that even the gods feared and were subservient to.
Think Thanos, only less tangible and many times more inevitable.
If there is a connection, it may not even be possible to destroy him outright since his existence is woven into the fabric of the universe itself; a demon of anarchy made to counteract the beneficence of the kais and gods of destruction.
I also like the possible basis, but would every universe have a Moro?
The moment I first saw Moro consuming the life out of a planet, I was immediately reminded of Darth Nihilus from the Star Wars Expanded Universe (or Legends). His design also reminds me of Tirek, a villain from the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He too grows stronger by consuming energy, in Tirek's case magic, becoming younger and buffer as well.
There's also a striking number of parallels to the My Little Pony villain Tirek.
An ancient goat/ram man who escaped their prison after being locked away for an absurdly long time, and have the ability to drain energy from others in order to restore their youth and power.
That is crazy.
Moro did it better tho.
Still seeing him as a Baphomet Unicron. Hope Goku and friends can find the matrix of leadership fast!

Awesome vid. I had been thinking of the inspirational path that was used to come up with Moro. By the means of taking the biblical route of inspiration since it’s incorporating angels. Plus looking towards the Galactus: Silver Surfer action twist and creating a mesh between the lot. I really learned a lot from this as to all your content, keep it up!
So where's our Budokai 4 animated intro where Goku fights Frieza, Piccolo fights Cell, Gohan fights Buu; and now, Beerus fights Champa, Trunks fights Zamasu, Hit fights Jiren, and Vegeta fights Moro?
Those intros would've been a lot more complicated if done today.

Moro's design is good and sometimes terrifying, however due to his bland master plan he just doesn't have the same ranks as King Piccolo, Classic Vegeta, Frieza and Cell
People like Broly and Moro make me wonder. How the heck did they get defeated by Goku Black/Zamasu in the Future timeline (considering at that point only Earth had life on it).
Reading up on him it's actually a unique character. It's been so long since we had something new not reused or repurposed. He sounds so cool.
If this villain appears in the anime then we could see what can he do.

He eats planets. And kills New Namek. Majin Buu, Grand Elder Kai, Vegeta and Goku are there and they struggle against him. Cause he consumes energy.

I always appreciated simple villains like Moro, now I get it people need ing something like Thanos, a villain with a code of life or meaningful destiny he need to fulfill, but those villains simple like Doomsday, that make the hero of the history change the way he thinks are better in my point of view.

About the Memento Mori, it was actually whispered to a general during his triumph in Rome by the person holding a wreath over the triumphant on the parade chariot.

I think Zamasu is the evilest Dragon Ball Villain I mean he’s responsible for the extinction of his own race just because he hated mortals in fact his only motive for any of his evil actions is because of his hatred for anyone who isn’t him

I want this villain and arc for the anime so bad!! And I loved Koy McCloud's English voice reel for the character so much, I'd dig his voice to be like that. To me he is like the coolest villain the series has had since Cell. And while I agree with most of the DBZ RUclips creators that having Beerus take a step back in relevance for the forthcoming arcs is necessary, part of me really wants to see the character interactions between him and Moro.
For me, Moro is not as evil as Goku Black and Zamasu but he (Moro) is also evil. But what makes a character unique what the character is trying to achieve

I don't find him to be all that evil, at least he's sorta nice to his henchmen, unlike Frieza.

Yeah Moro isn't that evil. He's definitely not as evil as Frieza. Besides Frieza has had way more character development than bearded goat man.

I'd say it depends on if you think body-count > level of torment/agony caused by the villain. Out of all the villains, Moro easily has one of the highest body-counts, right up there with Kid Buu, and unlike the latter, he has free-will and doesn't function on animalistic behavior. That said, his drain-power doesn't seem to cause quite as much physical pain as, say, a death-beam through the heart or a beam-sword through the gut, or as much emotional pain as a years-long conquest to make humanity extinct. When Moro wipes out a population, he does so in seconds. When villains like Future!17, Future!18, Cell, or Goku Black wipe out a population, they do it over the course of a decade, one person at a time. In Frieza's case, if you're on his good side, you and your planet might survive. If you're not, however, you're getting an excruciatingly-long death. In that sense, Moro is actually pretty tame compared to most DB villains.
The Thing(unintentional pun) with Galactus is, Galactus at first didn't care what planet he ate whether it had life or not. It was the fact that his herald The Silver Surfer goes out to find planets so that his master can eat wiithout the worry of intelligent life getting destroyed. You could say with this in mind Galactus like you said is still like Beerus but with a Whiz at his side for some guidance and in this case Galactus's Whiz is The Silver Surfer. One thing I noticed from watching your video is that Sheep are called 'Ovis aries'. Aries is the Greek god of War, perhaps Moro was in fact a previous god of destruction as others have theorised?

I like Moro because he seems more practical than most DB villains. Frieza was an overwhelming egotist, Cell had his Saiyan-born lust for battle, Buu was destructive chaos, Zamsu... haha, Jiren too self absorbed.

Sheep are grazers; they ramble slowly eating short plants close to the ground. Goats are browsers; they look for leaves, twigs, vines, and shrubs.

I wish that instead of telling Moro that he would’ve gotten stronger through training than he ever did through eating planets, Goku told Moro, “If power and eternal life was really all you wanted, then why didn’t you try committing suicide and putting your soul into a humanoid inanimate object like a costume or a manakin? That could’ve gotten you some. No need to go through all the trouble of eating planets. Just put your soul into a humanoid inanimate object and you’ll be able to live eternally.”
Toyotaro intended Moro to be a goat, but wanted his horns to be longer. It's funny to think he tried to make a goat but made a ram instead.

One thing I feel is lacking in this arc is Frieza. Yes I said it, but with actual good reason!
So we always hear that the Galactic Patrol and the Frieza Force avoid one another (or rather the former doesn't mess with the latter), well this would be the greatest opportunity to have the two teams have to work together.
Think of it this way. Moro and crew are jumping around from planet to planet eating them. Why not have him venture into Frieza territory and have him start eating those planets. Have an evil v evil fight between Golden Frieza and Moro and a defeated Frieza needing to make a temporary truce with the GP. We could finally have Frieza interact with Buu as well.

Zamasu was more evil because he committed genocide in the name of, of all things, righteousness (the only pretext that has ever been deranged enough to be used to commit genocide.) I.E Like most people who think they're doing good.
Even Frieza is less evil because his egocentricity is sincere.
The reason for this is obvious: no matter how many planets he subdues or destroys, Frieza will never wipe out everything because then he'd have no one to subjugate to his will.
Therefore he must nessessarily look after the well being of his subjects, if only to the barest minimum.

Planet eaters in Marvel? You know there is one I can think of that's usually associated with a different franchise, but he was created by Marvel even though they parted ways. Unicron. Strangely enough even though they look nothing alike, they both devour worlds (the means differ, but the results are still horrific), they both have beards and horns (curving in opposite directions), and they are both embodiments of pure terror.
Moro is becoming a great villain so far. He was menacing, power hungry, relentless, murderous & powerful

The conditions to use power drain is too easy. That's why it makes Moro a bad villain, he doesn't have to work for it, unlike imperfect cell.
Or maybe Moro didn't care about anything else than his youth and just required minions. The rest he is capable of doing by himself.

I wholeheartedly agree, GT had more badass looking designs compared to Super.
The past few villians in Super have looked plain,goofy, and downright lazy. Like Goku Black & Zamasu who were just repaints of Bardock in a black gi and Supreme Kai in green.
@@chriscannon8144 I know right? Not to mention this Jiren guy who is literally just a bald alien guy in a red discount Superman spandex costume. GT was much shorter, but it was packed to the brim with interesting villain designs.
