Gohan's character arc already went to a close after Ressurection F and the tournanent of power though, with him finally managing to balance his training and his job, learning that he can do both and still be happy.
I honestly doubt we're going to get any more than that from his character.

With slug conquering planets, and turning them into star ships I’d like him to be a misguided hero, afraid of the reborn and stronger Frieza, conquering planets to rally to his side to take on the galactic emperor.

King Piccolo only liberated those prisoners to further his own aims. He didn't care one bit about them. He just wanted them to cause chaos.
Uh, it's a cartoon with villains that give monologues and laugh maniacally. I wouldn't take anything from it and apply it to real life.
Seriously. I feel like you guys keep forgetting that King Piccolo is literally just a mass of darkness. He literally separated so that one WAS pure evil and the other pure good. That's their entire character concept, and I think those types of characters actually CAN work in a narrative if done right.
King Piccolo is not only the dark thoughts and desires of one person, but the darkness in humanity period. He came to be from the Nameless Namekian witnessing all of humanity's darkness for hundreds of years.
Juawanna Barron and it was the goodness of humanity, as in the purity of Gohan friendship that made king piccolos reincarnation, piccolo that resulted in him turning good
In the storyline this would be perfect time to introduce lord slug cannon, while Goku and Vegta train. Have the Z fighters have the spotlight. Piccolo having defeat lord slug and his last Dying wish to fuse with piccolo. Piccolo power boost.
Honestly, given Super Hero's events, and Heroes weirdly strongly pushing a new "Ultra Janemba" to keep the Saiyans occupied . . . we now have a canon design for a Super Namekian, and it's even called that. Two Super Namekians going toe-to-toe, Piccolo and the B-team taking on a whole-ass invasion, sounds like a really good arc while the group is potentially split.

I very much enjoy the idea that there is some intentional wickedness in a Super Namekian. It gives credence to Piccolo using his gigantic quasi super Namekian form less and less. And the idea that Slug is near Frieza level, enough so that Quasi Super Saiyan was needed to fight him
I really like this idea, it feels like a logical throughline from the existence of king piccolo, a combination of the fear of potentially being erased again and the aforementioned taste of power through their fusion with Saonel and Pirina

In the movie Broly, Goku’s power level is never stated. And Broly was a little over 900.

I can dig that. Having Slug being “born” out of a group of fused, would be different in a good way.
Although, something just dawned on me: if it’s ‘power’ that he craves, what if it turned him into a fiend - a fiend that that has this insatiable appetite for ‘power’ (like an addict)?
Even with this set up, you would really need to include Gohan. In the ToP, Piccolo and Gohan realized they needed each other. Not just as trainer/student, father/son, but as partners taking enemies on together.
In other words, Gohan is basically an honorary Namekian and Piccolo likely wouldn't leave without him on a call for help like this.
I’d love to see Gohan (honorary namekian) and dende helping out by trying to evacuate namekians and fighting off some slug zealots while piccolo and the universe 6 namekian warriors fight off slug and his strongest supporters. Keep it focused on the namekians but brings back dende and gohan since both played big roles in the namek arc and in piccolos becoming a hero.
And it could even be that all of the slug zealots fuse into slug eventually forcing Piccolo to fuse with the two from universe 6 and the power boost both slug and piccolo get could be enough that gohan would just a get in the way, with gohan on the sides the story would focus on the namekians still but could be yet another strong push for gohan to get back to fighting and finding that balance in his life.
First it was Friezas invasion of earth, then the tournament of power, then not being able to help his former master in this fight. Gohan has near limitless potential but piccolo who has a ceiling has him so outmatched as the result of the fusion that he might as well be krillen.
I would actually make a Namekian that could force others to assimilate then have him absorb our favorite big green. Adding investment to the character.
Having just watched several different "Dragon Ball What Ifs" I think that there needs to something like an Anthology series, with each season focused on different parallel timelines, where something changes the overall story (like in your "What Ifs"). I think a Good title would be Dragon Ball Multiverse.
Heck I would PAY to see this idea incorporate Your What if Bardock convinced the Saiyans and What if Cell turned Good videos cause I really enjoyed those ones. I didn't mention the Raditz becoming Good because you're currently working on Dragon Ball R & R.
BTW I LOVE the Raditz series and Raunch is an amazing character that you've created
I wish that Piccolo (and Gohan) had more of an opportunity to fight Slug. Namekians mean a lot to them. So fighting an evil one will have HUGE consequences. Just like Goku vs super's Broly and the duo vs the U6 namekians.

I had 1 idea for Slug it also has a way of connecting GT to Super too. Keeping the Lore that he and Slug were the last survivors of the Great Namek storm that also had Kami's father send him to Earth, Slug and Guru fused with the last survivors or they would have perished but Slug went a bit mad with power and betrayed Guru forcefully fusing with the new Namekians Guru birthed, and Guru asked the Galactic Patrol for help and Slug was locked up in the Galactic Prison with Moro. Years later he created the Black Star Dragon Balls and sent them into space to land on a planet once used the wish would give him more power but destroy the planet it was on once each wish was granted and then land on another planet to repeat the same thing, but unfortunately for Slug the earth was saved in time, after awhile he finally found the earth looking for revenge he kidnapped dende and hid him somewhere in space and tainted earth dragon balls and sent the into space on different planets and he created 7 guardian dragons to guard them. That's what i've got so far lol

I feel like the fact that there was another Saiyan out there doing his own thing really isn't discussed much, and there's really a lot of room for backstory. Did Turles work for Frieza too? If so, why didn't he come to earth with Vegeta and Nappa? If not, was the Frieza force after him? Was the Tree of Might his plan for revenge on Frieza like the dragon balls were for Vegeta.

With all the battles of epic might going on in dbz I guess we don't focus too much on all the different alien cultures there'd be. For the most part, aliens in dbz (minus Saiyans) are pretty interchangeable aside from some specific powers. I think it'd be great to see Piccolo learn more about his heritage and what Namekians actually do besides grow cabbages.

I would like a lord slug what if but i would love a what if king piccolo was brought back
YES! I like this! Piccolo needs to action! Not just fighting, but just... BEING there DOING stuff. Even in the Broly movie, he was just, "Here's how fusion works. NO! Wrong! Do it again!" and that was it. So to have a total Namekian-focused story and Slug being a single being made from fusions of a CULT? That's some nightmarish force worthy of a tale for Piccolo to suddenly shine on his own. And not to mention a final fusion idea, that's amazing! This needs to happen! I'd LOVE to see this!

It'd be a small retcon but if namekians could canonically fuse with members of the demon race it would prove an explanation of king piccolo's ability to summon demons. As well as his ability to create Kami "his good half"
Slug could also be absorbing strong namekians but still having that demon within. As slug starts with fusing with only the willing he runs out of participants. And defuses with his better half and places him in a magical comatose state (so he can target the unwilling without feeling bad). Now you've got 2 teams one fighting slug and one searching for the good half who they believe will be able to beat him

I think that would be awesome for Piccolo, that and give them a weakness to chocolate just to be wacky. I think reutilization of various characters would be very beneficial for the story and the community.
Another thing that could be added it would I kind of looming threat if Piccolo loses. Lord Slug could have a way to forcibly fuse Namekiens taking their power and memories for himself. And his goal could’ve very well have been getting Piccolo to show up. Because once he has fused Piccolo to him he would gain the location of new Namik. and with that even more to fuse and gain more power.

I have a concept for Turles
The tree of might still gives it's energy boost, but it's also hella addictive. Turles would essentially be a drug lord working for Frieza, giving both of them more power and riches.
I like this, but we already have had the "evil goku" moment with Goku Black. There would have to be a change, unless he was a random saiyan who happened to survive the purge and the entire series for 30 plus years

Hm. I would like to see the universe 8 Namekians show that they're also super Namekians, then we get a 2 on 1 giants fight with Piccolo, Dendei and maybe a couple of other universe 8 Namekians handling crowd control until the 2 giants get bodied then Piccolo is like "hey, I could fight him, but I can't go giant" and the other 2 are like "wanna see something cool?" 3 way fusion and BOOM! Giant Super Piccolo vs Full Power Slug! Maybe even end it with Slug thrown into space and giant Piccolo charging a super makansapalapakah! (I know it's the special beam cannon)
I think introducing DBZ non cannon movie characters into DBS cannon would be great and using them to give secondary characters (everyone but Goku) development would be amazing, which is why the DBS Broly arc was disappointing in this regard as it defaults to Goku/Vegeta. My pitch for a DBS Slug would be to make Slug be the cause of the apocalypse that nearly wiped the Namekians out. Slug would be the founder a new namekian caste. Namekian culture believes that Namekians are born into 3 castes and not 2 (Warrior,Dragon), the third being a heretofore unrecognised/hidden Demon Caste. The Ancient Namekians hid the existence of this 3rd caste for unknown reasons (likely 1 Demon Caste Namekian become a cosmic menace in their past).
The cult was formed on the day Slug had a vicious duel to the death with his childhood rival who came to confront him and stop him from spreading his heresy. During this battle Slug used the Giant form and in a fit of rage at his friends verbal barbs and constant evasion Slug snatched him from the air and devoured him whole. By the time Slug came to his senses it was already too late, his body began to shrink to normal and his friends existence all but wiped but then something happened (forced fusion). He felt he became more powerful than ever before but also felt a sense of unease which would grow exponentially over time (the captured spirit screaming for release from his subconscious).
Slug realised that Grand Guru and the Elders were lieing to his people about their past and he concluded the only way to find out the truth was through the Namekian Book of Legends. Slug then proceeded to devour (forced fusing) his way through the guards and other warrior nameks preventing him from acquiring the book ( alot of potential for writing in ancient namek minor characters giving their lives to stop slug here).
In the end Grand Guru realised he had no choice but to order the securing of a couple of hundred namekians and send them away to a hidden location (on their moon) using their only space worthy craft (the Ark) and order the rest of the remaining population to merge with him. One way or the other he would make sure Slug was stopped. (Queue massive confrontation between two Super Nameks, awesome fights with ups and downs). Grand Guru is at deaths door but as he is about blast Slug to pieces, Slug disappears and reappears next to the Ark where half the namekians had already boarded the ship, he is massively wounded so he isnt able to consume any of them so he runs aboard and commences take off procedures. He would have a ship plenty of food and power up sources to easily return and enact his revenge someday. Grand Guru couldn't bring himself to destroy the ship so he pursued it and tried to disable its engines without damaging the ship but Slug was evading his attempts. Slug realises he will not make it to orbit easily so he chants an incantation which begins to create a portal to a Hellish dimension where columns of flame are spat out from, narrowly hitting the Ark (begins to spin out of control into space) and firmly striking Grand Guru, who falls from the sky. The remaining survivors gather round their fallen protector who asks: "Where is the book? Is it safe"?
One of the remaining guards answers, " Katattsu is on the Ark".
Grand Gurus eyes widen in shock, tears begin to stream down his face as his wounds overwhelm him and he dies.
[[Katattsu has the Book of Legends fused with his soul, he was Grand Gurus apprentice and Slugs younger brother]]
[[Katattsu takes the 1 escape pod the Ark has and eventually makes its way to earth]]
[[Slug will eventually repair the ship but unfortunately the damage suffered and the antiquity of its technology meant that they were lost in space and the location of Namek was lost to them also]]
[[queue Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super stories]]
I realise this is the set up for the events of DBS Slug but im older now and need more depth in my characters :P
I say have this and Bojack happen at the same time, so that Goku and Vegeta are busy, with Whis and Beerus, and Gohan can't help Piccolo. This could be an interuniversal war of the worlds so to speak. A type of battle we've never seen before focusing on our smaller hero's and giving them much needed development.
I would make Lord Slug is Zalama and the mastermind behind the tournament between Champa & Beerus so he could merge the universes together so he could be an effective opposition to the Omni-King and his childish ways.
That is a terrifying prospect. I dig it

I was thinking that what if : Lord Slug was one of the prisoners of the Galactic Patrol and is one of teh strongest members of Moro's army. In the newest chapter Moro sends a stronger grp to earth to check if there are powerful warriors. So he sends Lord Slug (although without the Lord title obviously) , arrives in Earth and fights Piccolo, while they seem equal Slug eventually wins. The Gohan comes and fights him for a while and defeats him. Krillin and Tien can fight Slug's soldiers that came with him. So in that scenario you got references to the movie, as piccolo gohan and krillin were fighting Slug himself and his army. But your idea of U6 sounds good

If it's during the TOP then Champa would probably hakai Piccolo after the tournament
I think it is a great idea... but Piccolo being grand dad to pan would more than likely have to make it on a grander scale than just bad guy nameks.
Even though small, Piccolo has had an extremely satisfying character progression in super. He has transgressed from homeless dude from protector and care giver. Pan is now a reason he has to move forward.
I never saw the Lord Slug movie.

Curse. Go see it. The Z movies are great. Except for Bio Broly, you can skip that one but the rest are definitely worth watching.

Lord Slug was a neat concept but below average execution
I remember that one time I was first... Masako deleted the video and reuploaded the next day 😭
Would be a nice way of helping Piccolo catch up some, and Gohan as a byproduct, you put the movie villains in the right place and could bridge at least some of the gaps in power for some characters.
That could certainly work; Slug being a kind of dark version of the universe 6 Namekians who has become corrupted by the fusion's power and influence, even going as far as to forcibly assimilate more and more Namekians into his being, all while spouting some busted rhetoric that it's for the betterment of the race and their respective universes. As an alternative thought, maybe "Slug" existed prior to the Tournament of Power, being formed during possibly the corresponding conflict on U6 Namek around the same time that U7 Namek was suffering. Where the latter was a drought that reduced the population, maybe the Namekians of Universe 6 found themselves needing to create a warrior to repel a great evil, only for their savior to fall from grace shortly after and be banished, leading to the process of fusion amongst the Namekians a last resort, which Saonel and Pilina ultimately had to call upon when they knew there was no other way to acquire the power in time. Since they mention how it took some time for the two to acclimate to their new power, maybe they were doing some mental training and helping their fused comrades get used properly sorted into their new beings, sort of like how Hohenheim in Fullmetal Alchemist had to spend some time sorting out each soul within his philosopher's stone and keep his mind intact from the initial maelstrom of whirling minds and souls.
As for Piccolo getting more fusions, that would be one way to help him bridge the gap with Goku and Vegeta, even if it wasn't going to let him ever overcome the two. If anything, an arc just for Piccolo would at least be a great way to really bring closure to his original motivation; global domination. Because let's face it, that whole thing just sort of got dropped somewhat unceremoniously. Sure, he had started to change due to Gohan's influence, but we never got quite the same change in motivation as we have had with Vegeta, who has realized that while surpassing Kakarot is what helps him stay strong, it's his love for Bulma and their children that truly helps him breaks his limits. So perhaps while fighting Slug, Piccolo is forced to come face to face with his old ambition, the one he readily accepted from his father, and finally vocalizing his reasons for always seeking greater strength and power.
Maybe after the ToP the fused namekians realize how dark the collective thoughts of all of them put together truly can be. So they (while still fused) wish to have "their evil purged from their body" which results in 2 (because two namekians) evil namekians coming out. One absorbing the other before absorbing either of the good ones. All these multipliers would surely do some good for his power even if hes still not on "blue level".

The next Dragon Ball Super villain could be Lord Slug. Lord Slug learns that there's one Super Namekian in each universes and that they are actually one part of the First Namek. With this knowledge he sets out to fuse with all the other Super Namekians. This First Namek is the one who created the Super Dragon Balls

What if there was universal war between the Armies of the Frieza Force, Lord Slug? Like they where both despotic jerks, but had to recruit others like Dr. Gero when he realized the fate of the planet and universe was at stake.
Piccolo, about to defeat Slug:
"You may think we're so different, but let me tell you. I was once right where you are now. I was a Super Namekian reincarnated, sent here as but an egg, with no memory of my home. And though I didn't remember why, I still had the hunger, the yearning, for power. So much so that I tried becoming a God, only to be rejected of that title because I had darkness in my heart. I thought by expelling that darkness that I'd finally be able to gain that power, but that merely separated me in two. It wasn't until much later that I came back together and realized the search for power was pointless. The Super Namekians were a mistake, creating chaos and fear in a people meant for order and peace. My entire existence caused our people so much pain. You are a reminder, a dark relic of a misguided attempt at gaining strength. A mistake that I must correct."

I love the idea that some special villains like Slug could be used to build lesser characters. Imagine if Dr.Wheelo mind-controlled Goku and Vegeta so Krillen, Yamcha, Tien, etc. had to save the day?
The only thing I would add to your what if is maybe having Gohan tag along the help because his connection with Piccolo and then like at the very end Goku just realizes that Gohan and Piccolo was gone after everything is done but either way I like your idea but just making it all about them and I would love to see a movie or even a manga of it would be nice

Yes because we haven't seen about half of the Dragon Ball movies being retellings of the original stories in the manga just cut for time right? Dragon Ball Mystic Adventure is a retelling of the Tao Pei Pei and Ten Shinhan arcs, Path to Power is a retelling of the original story and splicing in the Red Ribbon Arc, Sleeping Princess is a retelling of the Roshi arc and Blood Rubies is another retelling of the original plot.
Its sort of a staple of the films up until Broly, Worlds strongest is really just the Saiyan Saga with added bits, 3 Great Super Saiyans is the Android/Cell Saga, Cooler is Freeza both times, you've pointed out Slug is Piccolo.
Funny that the original content gets certain fans angry at being unoriginal but the actual unoriginal suff gets certain fans slobbering over it.

Would it be possible for them to fuse, wish to be defused but keeping the power, then fuse again, wish to be defused over and over and over to game the system but everytime they do it it damages their minds. After doing this cycle a few times over a few years they lose the ability to use or remake the dragon balls, so they go after Dende and Piccolo?
Perhaps forcing Nail and Piccolo to do the same, split and refuse a few times giving rise to the possibility of King Piccolo returning, only far, far stronger.

Well, would you look at that. I'm early on yet another video.
Whilst I thought it was fairly good, I would change 2 things.
1. Don't let the Dragonballs be able to unfuse namekians. For reasons, I'd say because it's a biological fusion, and not a mystical one like Potara fusion, so the dragon can't do anything, somewhat similar to how Shenron couldn't turn the Androids back to being regular humans.
The second change is a result of the first, a group of Namekians, believing their universe was to be erased, went rogue and left namek before the whole fusion. Always having had these dark inner desires, believing it to be the end, they decide to use the time they have left to do as they always wanted. This would also vaguely mimic the Nameless Namekian's split into Piccolo and Kami, but on a population instead of a single person. The rogue namekians still combine to become Slug.
This would then raise the stakes later in the story. When Pilina, Saonel and Piccolo realise they're never going to win unless they fuse, Saonel and Pilina realise that if they do this, and to beat slug, it would mean that their race has effectively been wiped from Universe 6.
They will always live on in Picollo, but as far as the rest of Universe 6 is concerned, the Namekians are gone forever.
