- We know that #DragonBall has a lot of characters but then there's #Pikkon - a character which has gained a lot of popularity across the world of #DragonballZ and even into the modern day video games...but why isn't he in Dragon Ball Super? Where has he gone? Will he ever return and what ways could he do so? Let's discuss what made Paikuhan so great and how we can reinvent him for the modern age.

Pikkon?... Off-screen development?... Looks like we found Oscar's new best friend, then. (Huh. What would a Dragon Ball & RWBY cross over look like?... MasakoX? What if that were to happen?)
MasakoX ok this is cheesy and 100% robbed from a DnD campaign, but Id love for the way they find to defeat Undead Pikkon is by using Sensu beans (healing potion/spell). It would be inventive. Lol
Because he's in the otherworld dumb video and I didn't even watch it he was a good character though and would be a good sparing partner for Gohan and goten, goku was surpassed him now so it wouldn't make sense to have pikkon in super so you need to get your dragon ball history straight brah. @@herrscherofisaf5592 Cooler is just bootleg Frieza in my opinion I mean he comes back as a cyborg just like Frieza. The only redeeming quality he has is that his final form is cool (no pun intended).
@@sergeantmituna6260 well Cooler seems to be more straight to the point and brutal. This is just based on his fights and also his moveset in FighterZ. I do see what you mean about calling him a "Bootleg Frieza" and wish Toriyama could make him better in ways.

@@darksigma0282 I want Toriyama to just rewrite the movie villains because some of them are literally rip-offs from the main villains from the anime. I mean Lord Slug and Janemba are literally King Piccolo and Kid Buu.
Since he was considered a filler character, they missed a golden opportunity to introduce Pikkon as a U6 Namekian. They could've all looked like that.

Angry Kirbys Because Saiyan's and Namekians aren't linked in any way. That's like saying "if U6 Saiyan's don't have tail's, U6 nameks shouldn't have antennae". One does not effect the other.

Well, the tournament of power handled most of those characters alright, at least. But but Tien. Tien (the most driven character in the series) is only allowed to go suicide.

@@nolankanski9116 Eh. I wouldnt say Most of them. The only fighters from universe 7 that got treated well during the TOP to me anyways were Goku. Frieza. 17. And Vegeta. Everyone else got wasted. ESSPECIALLY guys like Krillin.
The real question we need to ask: "Why is Pikkon STILL not in Super?"

Did anyone else think of him when we were getting Jiren? Except Pikkon is so much better despite us being given more of Jiren's backstory than we did his? Hmm Pikkon in a Prite Trooper outfit...
Look, this is how we get Pikkon in Dragonball 2020. We have the Galactic Patrol arc, Moro releases all the prisoners. Dendai comes along and convinces Yema allow the best fighters from Other World to be resurrected to help recapture the prisoners. I mean there's obviously no other way to do it

Personally, my favorite character from the Other World tournament arc that I'd like to see rebooted isn't Pikkon but the Grand Kai. Grand Kai was even referenced in the manga when Piccolo first asked Shin for his identity. I'd like to see Goku finally get that lesson from the Grand Kai that he was promised after the tournament ended in double elimination and have the Grand Kai teach Goku a new special technique, much like how King Kai taught Goku the Kaioken and the Spirit Bomb which became series staples. Maybe even have the Grand Kai know something about Ultra Instinct or even be an acquaintance to Whis and have the both of them work together to train Goku for his inevitable rematch with Beerus.

What about Tapion now? He had an awesome (in my opinion the coolest) theme and was basically a Chrono Trigger character but in Dragon Ball universe. I want him to appear in Super :D

I've seen this kind of thing happened before (especially with one piece) where the manga writer starts adding new elements to the anime probably because they look back at their original material and say I could added elements here but I will instead suggest them to the anime department
There's always the possibility that toriyama will start adding pikkon to the following manga chapters

Not entirely true. He appeared in The Buu Saga section of Kai. Which is cannon to Super.
So was Broly (technically cause no pre-BoG movie is canon) and they reinvented him for Super.

Even though pikkon isn't canon I always wished his race was playable race in the xenoverse games, love his elemental based fighting style.

In the Dragon Ball AF fanmanga by Toyotaro, after Goku became one with the Dragon Balls and live in the realm of the Evil Dragons, Pikkon was the only other being allowed to visit Goku as a sparring partner, after all, he trained with him for 7 years in the other world, so even Toyotaro appreciates Pikkon.
If that is the case, then Toyotaro may have a plan once he feels more confident to pitch it~

I see Pikkon as a counterpart to hit. Like a mirror image. He is space to Hit's time. Hit prefers precise, condensed attacks while Pikkon prefers widespread destructive attacks. It is almost like they are mirror images of each other. Also I would much prefer the soft reboot idea as opposed to the hard reboot one.

I wanna know more about all the other world tournament fighters in general, especially Pikkon and Olibu. Though Caterpy's 1000 year form is also something I wanna see...

Pikkon did remind me a lot of Piccolo and I think that is something that needs to refined for his character update. Also, Is Bulma's sister just a blatant ex-machina of convenience?
If you want to canonize Pikkon, you don't have to actually canonize the whole filler arc with him. Just have Goku casually mention something like "Oh yeah, I trained with this dude in the Otherworld for 7 years, he's great!" And that's it. Subtle.
The "soft reboot" sounds the best to me out of the ideas you posed. Great video.
Side Note: Pikkon, and the whole Otherworld Tournament storyline fits in with both descriptions of the word "filler" - it fits in with the anime description (not in the manga), but also the description used everywhere else (doesn't really affect the main storylines.)

Easy fix for King Kai and the other Kai's. Make their domain always be the afterlife, that way they are parallel to Shin and his crew.
The necromancer idea is an amazing one, although that plan didn't exactly end well for Kabuto. "Never use a forbidden jutsu carelessly."

Pretty much. Yeah.
For the most part, but there are times when he collaborates with some of those concepts. Paikuhan and the other Otherworld arc Kaios being examples of that (with the Kaios actually be canonical to the manga, even though only South Kaio pops up in it for one gag, and Grand Kaio is mentioned but unseen during the tournament arc when Piccolo asks who Shin really is). The concept of the Tsufruians also had some involvement from Toriyama.
They could reboot him along with Janemba. Have him be a warrior or something who fights against this great threat from hell.
Pikkon’s my favorite filler character, & I would love to see him return in Super!

In a way His not the original android but one of the first androids we see anyway same thing could be said about why wasn't any of shen other students or king chappa in the martial arts tournament during the events of z or why wasn't Launch in the series

Apparently, Pikkon actually appears briefly in the Anime AND Manga. This is in the Buu Saga when Kid Buu enters OtherWorld and gets banged up on by all the fighters there. Pikkon is among the crowd there.

I have a headcannon about Pikkon being that he was once a candidate for God of Destruction, just feeling the role of GoD and the heros idea of him training under West Kai seems like something he could have found out from Goku, deciding to train with all the compass kais once Goku went back to the living realm
The reason I love pikkon is because he was one of the first dbz characters I saw as a kid (my dad got a vhs of part of that filler arc), and i saw that he took on like 10 guys at once and his hat blew in the wind which blew my 6 year old brain. He's kinda the reason i got into the show in some way.

That reminds me, TFS mostly skipped over Gohan's training arc, except for a few bits and jokes, but they also included the Snake Way filler to an extent, they used the Garlic Jr. saga for a single hilarious episode to bridge the Namek Saga with the Android saga... will they mention the Otherworld Tournament? And I know it was used in a throwaway joke when South Galaxy was destroyed, but that was for the Broly movie.

Pikkon should have been the 10th member for the Tournament of Power. That would have been a huge bomb!! I say he's cannon, he was in the buu series.
the hard reboot would be the perfect way to introduce him back, I never even thought of that. He is a filler character and one less character design Toriyama would need to worry about for the other four universes fighters. I can see that being a thing

On The lack of Compass Kais in Super. In the Battle of Gods film version (the dubbed version at least) Berrus refers to King Kai as “North Kai”. So it’s still possible that the others still exist, as long as this wasn’t a dubbing error

If they did bring him back I hope they would add a section of it to the Manga. I would also hope that if they did add him into the manga they also make a reference to a tournament Goku and him were a part of.
Bringing Picon AND other other world fighters back could also be interesting in creating some interspecies battles. Up until now, Dragonball has run on a sort of "good species/bad species" setup. When two characters of the same species are on opposite sides (say Goku and Vegeta), it is more or less fait accompli that one will go over to the other side. We rarely seed irredemably "bad" Saiyans (except perhaps Turliss) or Namecks (except maybe Lord Slug) But in the other world fighters we saw individuals who MIGHT belong to the same races as members of the Freiza Force (for example, it has been suggested that the red sort of armored fighter who lost to the little speedy one from West Galaxy belongs to the same species as Burter, and that the cloaked frog warrior belongs to the same species as the two "frog soldiers" (the green one who is in Frieza's bridge crew, and the orange one who is the bandit). It might be interesting to see cases where we have members of the same species on opposite sides having to battle, and both trying to sway the other one to come over.
now I wonder what other characters were voted to be a replacement for Buu outside of Pikkon at ToP

So. Can this a set up for What If Pikkon was brought back alive? I think that would be cool seeing how he’d be in super. Possibly in the tournament of power or brought in as Monaka for the universe 6 saga. Personally I’ve always liked Pikkon and wanted to see him more.
Pikon being necromancer could be introduction to Time Patrollers because they could link the magic to Xenoverse Time Breakers, bringing back Future Trunks who never made it to the Other Time because Chronoa kidnapped him and made him her Assistant. They could tell Goku that Pikon was being controlled by Demigra and introduce new saga of Goku and Vegeta becoming time patrollers which can led them on game like challenges perhaps where they have to fight Janemba and others. Xeno Trunks can also be training Goten and Trunks through parallel quests.
Pikkon shows up in Kai as a cameo appearance. We know that the Kais have campions, since Papoi is still mentioned in the manga by South Kai.
I would love if they did more with pikkon and the grand kais, along the other kais as well. I liked hte filler arc and i loved the grand kai. He was like the cool rock and roll style granpa we wished we had. Since goku knows pikkon he could train with pikkon now and again in other world, as goku seems be only mortal that seems allowed in afterlife even without baba help. He goes to king kais planet which exist in other world or between the mortal realm and other world.
I miss pikkon as a charaecter because he was the coolest filler charaecter ever made pikkon basicly made filler episodes wachable.

Well he appeared in Toyotaro's AF in a decent role so there's some hope he could show. I'd love to see him again certainly.
Speaking of magic and rebooting ideas, how about super saiyan 4, but instead of being a progression of the super saiyan line, it's an idea of combining the super saiyan form with magic (like how ssb combines ssj and god ki)
Perhaps we may get Pikkon introduced into canon in the rumored upcoming movie.
If pikkan was the staple of west galaxy as far as power is concerned
Maybe there could be an arc in that sector of the universe similar to what I’ve been hearing about the dragon team would take a trip to the 6th universe (this could used especially well for some world building under the influence of the west kai in stead of north kai)
Maybe broly’s crew could find themselves in the area and by some course of events lose his cool and go berserk, this would cause news to spread that ‘a rouge sayain with power comparable to the God’s is bringing havoc to west galaxy’ leading whis to ask goku and company of the situation. Once they arrive a newly revived pikkan, charged to help deal with the situation, meets them with some hostility (recognizing the sayains in the group) and if the otherworld tournament is concerned cannon with whatever changes necessary, pikkan could possibly have some feeling of betrayal seeing as the one who was considered an ally is turning such a power against his former quadrant of resistance.
After sorting the situation (possibly after some sort of battle spark from the misunderstanding) the gang soon figures out that the legendary super sayain was the one behind all this commotion, but as a twist, there’s something else that would’ve gained influence over him (similar to what would happen in xenoverse 2) so through a grand adventure our protest find the perpetrator and take him down with broly having some character development and more control over his power along the way

Pretty sure Pikkon was at least mentioned in one frame of the manga when the Kais were flexing on who's the strongest warrior, right at the beginning of buu saga
I do wonder the same. Paikuhan, or Pikkon in the dub, did appear a few times in the Dragon Ball Kai that was suppose to follow similar to the manga. Of course he is from the filler saga of Dragon Ball Z. I have heard somewhere that he was made by the author Toriyama. He's a pretty strong character when he took down Perfect Cell (Full Power), Frieza (Final Form) and his father King Cold as if they're fodder. After watching a while, it does seem a bit touchy when you bring in about the filler compared to current events like on Dragon Ball Super.
Actually, the Southern Kai IS in the original manga. He appears during the scene where Goku is training for his return to Earth with King Kai, and the Southern Kai comes by and sees him turn Super Saiyan. The scene was also in the anime, but the only difference is in the anime the Southern Kai had his top apprentice with him.
Also, the Grand Kai is somewhat canon because he was mentioned by Piccolo in the manga. Before he knew Shin was Supreme Kai, he asked him if he was the Grand Kai. Kibito then told Piccolo that Shin was the Supreme Kai. So, canonically the Grand Kai exists, we just haven't seen him. If we do, he might not look like his anime-only version.
One thing to know Masako,
Mr. Satan's assistants (Miss Pizza and the others) who are filler characters from the DBZ anime appear in the DBS anime.
Just have him be a rival or friend for Hit that while still a very serious guy, tries to get Hit to 'lighten up after after 1000 years'. That way he still plays the role of a supporting character & could be a character for a universe 6 arc that others could bounce off of.
We need more Pikkon
It would be cool if Pikkon he is recruited in the next touney and it is revealed his species is a cousin to Namakians, and he fuses with Picolo who could use a new power up.
Pikkon is my favorite characters, I remember playing Raging Blast 2 and almost one hitting piccolo with his ultimate move lol. Ever since that day he’s been my favorite character.
Hmm I wonder if it was Raging Blast 2, I forgot lol.
For Pikon to re-appear it should have happened already, but to be fair the time between when he was shown for the first time and up to the end of the DBS tournament isn't so much time relatively speaking. So in that regard he could show up when the series start up again.
Pikkon is one of my favorite characters and not just filler characters either
