A boring diet also means more MENTAL freedom. You do not need to devote focus, time & energy thinking about buying stuff, meal prep, etc. if you are preparing and consuming the same meals on an everyday basis. A grounded video, very important specially to young people.
I love this mindset, I can't tell you how stupid I feel because of how sensible this approach is when it comes to cost, time and efficiency. Plus, if you're eating the same items, you're going to be very good at eyeballing items without weighing them for the calories. I'm literally watching more and more of your videos my guy and it's all finally clicking; it just makes absolute sense. I just wish I'd found your content first before G-Shred and all the other vampires of the fitness world. Also a question, how do you plan family dinners/takeaways around your diet?
@@REVIVALFitness not always a bad thing either, when i eat whole foods im way more satisfied in the stomach vs if i eat even the anabolic recipe, thanksgiving turkey and mashed potatoes are way more filling than cakes and cookies made high protien using protien powder. For bulking I def have to forcef eed myself to reach the surplus but its worth it bc im making gains pretty much almost every time i go in on multipal things. If i do have to cut eventually the fact I dont always have a good appetite might give my stomach a temperary break from forcefeeding 3000 ish calories a day but that number is only going to go up as im pretty underweight and not going to have to cut for a while, I am pretty active during the day too.
This great advice that a lot of people need to hear. Get this through your heads people: The most important thing in bodybuilding is not your split, or your rep range, or intensity vs volume, the most important thing is CONSISTENCY . And the same goes for the food if you eat consistently, more or less the same foods, you'll be able to track, add or substract way easier. Putting lean muscle tissue is the hardest thing, you need to not make it even harder for you by over complicating your food. You stress your body with an unusual effort ( yes you have to progressively oveload), and you eat and rest to REPAIR and RECOVER. Also know why you eat what you eat, like eating a complex carb and lean protein before your workouts and the other way around post workout. Listen to your body, it will ask you for more food. Your food supports both your training and your recovery.
This channel has been amazing in helping me with my body dysmorphia and ED I lost 118lbs and currently weigh 138lbs at 5'8, i was terrified of gaining weight (bulking) so i kept convincing myself that maingaining was the way to go, but every time i would decide to maingain i just start intentionally eating less, currently i look completely fucked physically, face has been aged by what seems like 10 years (lines every where) and my gym performance has completely plummeted, and i just look skinny, i really appreciate the simple approach to muscle building and fat loss that this channel provides and the simplicity in nutrition it provides, still get anxious when the scale goes up but i know i have to eat to get big and ultimately achieve a physique i am truly proud of Really appreciate it dude 🙏
Facts the Doucette diet is terrible long term because of how it changes the persons food palatability and preference. Like a grilled salmon with roasted veggies and boiled potatoes probably sounds boring and unsatisfying to them but in my case or for other people as well, it sounds delicious. SSD Abel said it best, just keep things Simple and satisfying and your diet will be sustainable forever
@@REVIVALFitness That's basically hitting the nail on the head with my 'issues' around food. If food doesn't taste good, I'm much more likely to require a lot of willpower to not keep eating. But I'll also be the first to admit I got a lot of issues around food. Just an absolute black hole, do think a 'boring' diet is the best way forward for me, but with my favourites. (Given I like a lot of 'bland' staples, couldn't live without chicken, green beans and potatoes for example.) But will make it more a week plan, to rotate salmon and steak in occasionally (and not break bank.)
@@willsgaming1481 I met a buddy at work who goes fishing in the open ocean (Im in San Diego), guy gives me like 4lbs of fresh caught wild fish fillets for $40. 24oz of mahi, 20 oz of blue fin tuna, 30oz of yellowtail snapper and yellowfin tuna. I'm still working through it. Made some killer fish tacos yesterday breaded em with simple panko crust
It s actually super simple as a vegan. Rice, lentils, beans , green pea and tofu. Not that hard to hit your protein goals. I actually eat rice with lentils and green peas everyday. Sometimes spiced italian style or different curry styles. Larged premixed spices, no work needed. Just simple. Oats as breakfast. Thinking it s hard is just wrong. It s very basic.
Just spent almost a whole week eating only chicken and pasta/rice. Being a student on limited time and budget, bulk buying and meal prepping is key. Cook a bunch of chicken on Sunday, the add the desired carb and salad every day. I certainly enjoy good food, I like cooking it too, but I don't mind eating "boring" food. That just makes the few times I have free time to prepare something fancy more fun and enjoyable
I wish I could have seen this video last year, when I was stressing over missing one expensive ingredient for some protein ice cream or protein muffins or whatever. Since the gyms reopened after covid I shifted my diet to being a lot more simple (pretty much the same foods everyday) and dont regret it. I also feel a lot more satiated from real foods and it’s been a lot better for my wallet too. Great content man you’ve been a great help in getting me out of my skinny phase
@REVIVAL Fitness thank you for this video and your other videos in general. Really helping out a lot of young guys with this stuff by keeping things basic and doing everything you say you do in a relatable way. Your channel is literally a hidden gem bro. 💪🏾💯
Oatmeal with pbfit, chocolate jello and cinnamon combined with a proteín shake 6 Freaking doucettes blueberry french toasts Tuna with popcorn and chobani coconut yugurt Pretty much the dame everyday, maybe one of those Costco proteín bar now and then. And of course some times we go out for some tacos. As you say, its easier yo track that way. Guess i need to eat more chicken breast
Solid video. I'm the same way, eat 95% the same stuff and throw in variation once in a while if I want to. Mike Israetel talks about the FPRH(food palatability reward hypothesis) which is the idea that can modulate how tasty your food is based on your goal(cutting, bulking, etc.). I fell into this trap when I followed Doucette's advice religiously and was trying to make every meal as tasty as possible. He literally noceboed me into thinking that I(and "99%" of people) needed every meal to be extremely delicious and give me a food baby otherwise I was going to binge and eat everything in sight. Turns out there's a thing called moderation, crazy that some people have that. I started eating regular food and portion sizes and woah I didn't get obese, funny how that works
Literally the best diet advice. Also when cutting, eating the same boring food every day helps a lot. I've noticed, that my cravings for "fun" foods disappear completely after a few weeks. I have cheesecake in the fridge and still prefer my chicken and veggies
Not a fan of the hyper pop diets, and not a fan of doucettes diet dogma, even though it has tasty stuff. For bodybuilding purposes for someone who’s busy, I don’t want 15 ingredients. Simple and bulk is best. I couldn’t bulk properly following doucettes ideas. 2:25 made me sub 😭
Can't agree with some points in this video. What made me finally be able to lose weight was finding couple of recipes for delicious food that I can cook, that's relatively satiating. I agree on the point that you need to find some easy to make, fast recipes that you can rely on. I have like couple of dishes that I can make in batches and freeze some, or some that are quick to make. I wouldn't be able to cut on boring food, maybe for week or two but then I'd just go eat fast food. I some people can just eat whatever, but I value good food too much, no way for me to treat eating like a chore and I wouldn't want to change that.
This youtuber basically come from a perspective of a hardgainer. He's the type that doesn't like to eat and if he doesn't discover lifting he will be a thin skeleton drinking soylent green for every meal
I agree with so much of this! Its funny cuz when I started I was on the Greg Doucette train, literally spending hours a day making fancy low calorie/high protein recipes. Over time I learned this detrimental for all the reasons you said, and on top of that, I found myself food focused 90% of the time as I would always be thinking of what my next meal would be. And since I was cutting/maingaining (which I also shouldn't have been at the time) I would get into the mindset that since I'm so deprived of calories (1800/day at one point) I have to "make the most of each one". After I finally reversed the shitty practices I picked up from Greg I land pretty much at where you land. Time is of the essence for me, I wanna spend as little time making or even eating food. So these days I do pretty much the exact same thing (sandwiches, shakes, prepped rice and meat, oatmeal, very quick things etc). I even get my groceries delivered now so I don't have time to waste on that shit. Another tip for people who are bulking, an easy way I add variation to this is simply on days that I feel like it, I'll replace 2 of my 5 meals with something from outside, whatever I feel like.
New to watching your channel, good content. Your absolutely right about not needing a bunch of ingredients. I eat chicken, rice and spinach all the time. You can vary the meet or vegetable if needed, but if you keeping it the same for the week you save alit time. Once I get used to eating them all the time I even start craving them. It isn’t like this stuff tastes bad. Another benefit is it becomes easy to track you surplus or deficit and you know what nutrients your getting so you can manage them better. Keep up the good work. Just a dude with common sense.
Man I just sick of being hungry. I’m not blessed with the genetics that can eat anything I continuously have to keep my diet in check with cuts in order to literally just stay the same
You need to modify your food choices then to be very satiating and nutrient dense at the same time. I don’t think anybody ever got fat eating mostly beef, eggs, and vegetables etc.
as someone who has a ton of remmington james videos in their yt playlist, i can attest that is alot of stress and expensive to keep up with. But its not that time consuming after a while.
I usually cook one thing and portion it out for the week. My favorite is Swedish Meatballs, but a weeks worth of that is kind of time consuming to make. But worth it in my opinion.
One thing I can’t figure out. Why do all these fitness people disdain food like hamburgers? I can make a homemade hamburger that has 50 protein and not bad for calories. Also, what’s up with not eating food like kfc. A kfc chicken breast had more than 30 grams of protein for around 350 calories. I can eat stuff like that and still keep calories at 2000.
Many fitness influencers have eating disorders and will binge like crazy if they eat anything with a bit of fat in it. Most also sell supplements so they’re incentivized to promote those over actual food.
If it is homemade then yes, but KFC is terrible. KFC chicken is dunked in the nasty deep fryers that sit there with the same saturated fats oil, that they will be cooking with for a whole week before changing it to new oil and they dunk other stuff there as well. Oh and this is only when you have responsible managers on shift, otherwise it may take longer before they clean it and change the oil perhaps each two weeks.
One other piece when it comes to the weightloss is to realise that you also don't need to eat when you feel hungry. Once that clicked with me, everything else fell in place. I had the exact same breakfast for about a year now. Wheat biscuits, muesli, milk, banana protein shake. Every single day. It's easy. Most of other meals are pretty much the same too, some chicken either whole piece or diced, rice or quinoa or noodles and fuckload of salad. Keep it easy and convenient, people.
I am in the same shoes as you. In the past I used to spend weekends to do meals prep in order to bring a lto of variety, as a results I sacrificed a lto of my social life. I decided to keep it simple and eat similar foods Monday to Saturday then variety on Sunday. I only spend 2 to 4 hours meal prepping, I split the time between Thursday and Friday then my weekends are cooking free. I get great results this way while having social life, training 5 to 6 days a week.
Great video. I also eat the same everyday. Bulking diet....Breakfast, porrige nuts milk and banana. Mid morning, Chicken breast peanut butter sandwich and milk. Lunch, chicken breast with salad and noodles and fruit bowl with yogurt and nuts. Dinner, 12oz pork steak with potates and veg (smetimes salad), and more fruit. Supper Cheese and ham sandwich and milk. I find this makes things a lot more easier to track. When cutting I just gradually reduce calories, esp the carbs, bread and dairy.
I thought I WAS THE ONLY ONE THANK GOOOODDD for this video. I cannot understand why EVERY MEAL takes people an hour plus to prepare and cleanup. Honestly unless you're a stay at home mom- it doesn't make sense to me. Bro if you made a cookbook I'd buy that shit instantly. Every recipe 3 with ingredients LOL.
When Greg used to "make" his own meals he was eating the same stuff everyday, now he's got people cooking for him. People struggle to adapt/improve their food management because it takes time to get the habit ingrained and that's the main killer. Then excuses ensue. It's very similar to regular physical activity or any habit in the making.
I have never counted calories in my life troughtout the day, not even once. All i did was control food portions based on some general idea of how calorie dense it is. My cutting phase is usually kinda hard because i'm creating high deficit to make a sure i'm actually in a deficit, but i prefer it this way too because i like the quicker results.
I've been eating the exact same breakfast for 8 months and I honestly look forward to making it every single day. I'm single so it's easy but I can imagine living with a partner who looks funny at you all the time can throw you off track
Pampered Chef air fryer has been a god send for cooking. Saves a crap ton of time and I use it on roast or bake only. That's how I cook my salmon, tilapia, steak , and chicken.
Yeah, I mostly eat the same two things as my main dinner every week. 2 days I eat baked salmon with cucumbers, carrots with lemon and pepper, and 2 slices of bread. Then the other 2 days I make myself egg sandwiches with tuna. Usually eat out on the weekends. For breakfast and lunch, it is always the same thing everyday. Very easy way to get my macros and calories. And it is easy for me to eat those dinners every week cause I find the food tasty.
I was 307lbs in June. I am 211 now. How did I do that? I ate the same thing every single day. Sure I exercised more but diet was the key. Morning: Turkey, couple eggs, burrito shell Lunch: Chicken, salad mix. Hot sauce Dinner: Chicken, salad mix, some dressing. After workout: Banana. I don't have to think about it. I buy the same things. Chicken running low? Throw it in the slow cooker.
I am keto, but for blood sugar control. But it's not hard to eat consistently on keto, too. Meat and veggies are delicious. But, yeah, eating consistently makes everything easier. Chicken, ground beef, occasional steak, eggs and cheese. Dinner is often next day's lunch. Tend to eat the same lunch 3x per week. Dinner is varied for harmonious home life... Love the content.
@@shrexyboi1850 when food tastes nasty, cortisol is produced, which inhibits our ability to absorb the nutrients, regardless of age or shrex. BONUS: most vegetables' enzymes begin to burn off when heated to >115F.
I'm fortunate enough to have no problem eating the same thing every day, I remember figuring out lunch with a coworker years ago and asked if something sounded good, he responded "no I had that earlier this week" I'm just like, uh... so? lol
eating basic ass foods also really changes your perspective on what food IS. more complex meals are essentially the same thing as simple meals just with extra steps. for example a strip steak with a pan sauce and potatoes au gratin is composed of the same ingredients as a cheap chuck roast and a baked potato with butter. the latter is just easier and simpler
Very good video. I believe personally starting out , the most important part of your training should be to build strength and clean up your diet a little bit( Remove highly processed stuff like sugar etc). It is much more sustainable long term and you actually make modifications to your diet and training as you approach plateaus. I am about 4 months into taking barbell training seriously. It is a lot of fun if you focus on increasing weights weekly. Not in “fit” category I have around 25-30 percent body fat at 92 Kg(183 cm). Goal currently is to keep eating normal until I hit lifting plateau. Then I will have to make adjustments to my training and diet. Thank you so much for your videos. Keep up the good work. Liked and subscribed to your content.
That protein pasta actually slaps. It has a really nice chewy texture to it. And it barely has any more protein than regular pasta so that's not the reason to get it. I just love the texture of it.
Im not sure where it comes from, but I agree with you on just eating the same boring meals. Iv never been a "foodie" and have often said that if I could buy a brick that would fill all my nutrient requirements I would be a happy camper. Don't get me wrong, ill still get a cheat meal maybe once a week. But its not something that I am counting down the days till I can have it again.
This is a very sound argument. I would be compelled to follow this advice. But cooking is so fun for me. I like finding good cuts of meat on sale, I like trying new recipes and mastering ones I already know, it's always fun quality time with a girl or cooking for family, and in my teens and early 20s i worked as a cook for like 5 years, so it's not like I'm doggy-paddling in the deep end, I can really throw down. Not EVERY meal. breakfast is better kept simple. Protein shakes keep you satiated. But there's gotta be at least one good meal for the morale boost for me. I could see myself committing to a fixed meal plan like this for 6... MAYBE 12 weeks at a time.
My diet is more or less boring. Dinner is the only thing that changes more frequently (even that is on more or a rotation). I have no problem with this lmao. My wife may not want to eat this same way, so we do rotate dinner, but my breakfasts, lunches, snacks etc are all the same. I came down from 190 to sub 140 lmao. I don't eat 100% the healthiests, but the structure / better home cooked foods have done wonders for me.
I must say I’ve gotten used to eating the same thing everyday but it takes time. I would say after you eat the same thing month after month your body will eventually love it.(atleast that’s how it worked for me). Simple things like low calorie sauces and seasonings can really help mix things up if you’re struggling. Great vid btw
Not gonna lie, I more or less eat the same things every day! I was planning to make a similar video in the future. Personally, I’m all for the anabolic diet, and the creativity behind it all, as it can help a ton of people. But I more or less eat the same way every day, which makes it really easy to know how many calories I’m eating on a regular basis.
Only thing that varies for me is my dinner/evening meal, and they are still usually similar just variations. Luckily I'm quite a handy cook in the kitchen so I can make "boring" food taste good with little thought. Everything else is the same everyday. Protien oats for breakfast and nightime snack, eggs w/ some form of carbs for lunch, rice and salmon for preworkout. I track as I'm trying to make sure I eat at least at maintenance as I often struggle to keep the calories coming in but I could easily not track its such a routine now. No thought required = more thought that can go into training
I have been eating the same exact meals for like 2 years. I even eat my leftover chicken breast for lunch. Saves me money, and most importantly, it saves me time.
Nothing wrong with a quote unquote "boring diet", chicken, steak, ground beef/turkey are my go to meats for protien, eggs too, carbs, I like rice, oatmeal, potaotes and pasta, sometimes cereal but cereal is not always very healthy, fats, I just have peanut butter, eggs fatty meat and that good stuff, I think 80% whole foods nutritious and 20% whatever you like kind of diet even if that 20% isnt healthy is a great approach and thats how things should be regardless of bulking.cutting or recomping.
oats is a killer with hella protein bout 4g per 40g serving. I tend to have 300-454 grams(10-16 ounces or 1 and 1/2 - 2 cups.) Both calorie and protein needs met
great video man. you are right about the eating challenges I bet some of them mofos be on some kind of drugs or some unnatural crap to burn fat or bulid muscle and claim to be natty. over all there jabroni's. also what part of L.A you live? because I myself live in L.A South side
Getting my prepped meals in. I could eat the same things almost all the time. Just need asian noodles once a week as a cheat meal, mostly Pho because it is a very clean dish. I literally don't give a flying X about restaurant hopping for good tastes.
for me meal 1: 1-2(790-1500 calories) cups oats/3 cups milk and 1 cup water/ 15ml butter - for 40g of oats its 150 calories and 4 grams protein - 2 cups = 16 ounces meal 2: 3 slices of brown bread/3 tsp of butter/1-2 eggs (easy 600 calories ish with sauce) meal 3- 16 ounces+ rice at least 200g of chicken- probably 600-700 calories + Thats a simple meal plan - cheap and easy - and maybe a 25g protein shake easy bulk and adjustable- reduce everything by a little bit of calories and you'll lose weight Yes I was very skinny but I've definitely been bulking up. oats = 1.60 bread= 0.65 10 eggs = 1.00 butter- 0.95 rice 10kg = 10.00-15.00 chicken = 16.00 max a week if you have cheap stores close by . protein shake = 2.00 from my store You will have to get more protein in this but I'm a beginner bulker and a hardgainer It works for me.
Me nodding along until he came for the protein pasta. They're not frankenfoods, just noodles made from legumes. Like usually one or two ingredients. I eat normal beans as well.
I'm interested in how a 90 minute hot yoga (Bikram) class finds you. I see you're not big on body weight exercise, but it's the best routine I've found, & the only one which incorporates flexibility, cardio & muscle building simultaneously. Good luck!
Over night oats for breakfast, stir fry for lunch, meat pasta or potatoes veg for dinner and a grilled cheese sandwich and some fruit or an omelette in the evening every day 😂...easy
Love the advice I eat very similar foods everyday to I love it it doesn’t need to taste amazing every meal I still love it. If I want dressings I get low calorie seasonings at Spartans or gnc and done. Yes the truth is the food needs to be a bit bland if you want the best results don’t need a 100 recipes. This is great video no one says this lol they talk about the complete opposite but this video is exactly what i do man, awsome! The fancy cookbooks is all marketing and for people who have no idea how to make a peanut butter sandwich lol cheers !
I have 4 roommates who all lift. They don’t really have the same mindset for it like I do, as a bodybuilder. I eat the same bland-ish 6 meals every single day in and day out. They don’t understand it at all and act like I’m a psychopath. End of the day, the results that come from this eating mentality speaks for itself. Shitloads of bagels, eggs, chicken, Gatorade, potatos, and different fruits. PS: when I started having a local chef make my weekly chicken at a bulk cost, my life changed for the better. When you are able to, so worth it.
I’m the same way I eat the same thing everyday and don’t have a problem with it. As a bonus me being 175 at 6’0 1/2 feels great and still am fast and have abs, I will bulk to 200 in the future to get the more fuller look.
My primary thing is consistency. Have a good feed, to your budget and most importantly, to your time and intuition. You hit the nail on the head about consistency, albeit I am able to afford some luxuries and liberties at the moment here at home. Hell, I still sometimes have a cheeky chocolate myself cause that's my thing too. Dude though damn, your food looks delicious, anyone who says it isn't doesn't appreciate the simplicity Another thing of mine I do like to have is a good cup of coffee. I got into making my own so, for anyone hard into it, I recommend anyone to start buying the whole bean, a hand grinder and a pourover or a moka pot. It's really mentally stimulating to learn this stuff if you don't get bogged down in pedantises. It works out to be cheaper in the long run if you're into that, or switch to tea and learn to make it properly.
Ya you really need to find the easiest recipes and ingredients that work for you and you can stick with that’s how I stay consistent and I cook a lot and shop a lot it’s kinda unavoidable , I eat lots of veggies.
I do brown or brown n wild minute rice , oven roasted turkey, (thin deli sliced) , sour cream, Texas Pete hot sauce or Cholula hot sauce - 4 ingredients I eat this about 80% of my diet, I have to use water with my protein powder cause calories
ik you don't normally do cooking videos, but do you have any simple ways to make pasta that you can share? like with spices or other foods to pair them with?
I do this because I get bored of eating the same thing everyday. I have a basic foundation of every meal though, Protein/Complex Carb/Vegetables. That’s it so one day might be steak, Brown rice, Broccoli, or Chicken, pasta, Veggie of choice
You have no idea how much you can eat without gaining even a pound of weight before you start bulking. Your metabolism goes up with increased calorie intake and honestly you have to kinda forcefeed if you are mostly eating clean. Bulking 100% worth it. - Former obese ,was convinced was an endomorph by greg but saw the light thnx to this guy.
I too eat the same thing everyday: 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter, yogurt, juice for breakfast. A bowl of peanuts and a glass of milk (sometimes mixed with some sort of mocha) as lunch 1, then a deli meat and cheese sandwich as lunch 2. Then about 6-8 cheese and crackers as a snack, and a cliff bar and a chewy bar that I take on a walk that I try to do daily (or when I’m working in the office my walk from the office to the bus stop). Then a banana with peanut butter as a pre-workout snack, and after the workout I might have protein powder with water, or 2 eggs (I substitute these two depending on my mood but will sometimes have them both in a day). Then I have dinner, and that’s the one thing that rotates each day since I’m 21 and live with my parents who are good cooks, so on a given night dinner is probably 400-800 calories. In the evening I have protein cereal with milk, cottage cheese, an apple, and if I’m still hungry I snack on a tub of mixed nuts for a bit. All of this is the minimum I have in a day, any extra food gets added on as a bonus depending on the situation like if my parents make an appetizer or something. I’m 6’3 175 right now, but trending upward since this diet makes me gain about a pound a week. Funnily enough, I really like eating the same thing everyday. It completely takes the stress away of figuring out what I’m going to eat and counting calories. Now that I wrote my essay, one thing I learned the hard way was how important carbs are. Protein is so overhyped imo, as long as you get your protein threshold in, carbs and fat are way better for bulking imo. For awhile I was plateauing at like 155 which is terrible for my height, and I think it was largely because I was avoiding foods like pasta and potatoes and would instead go for the chicken and whatnot. I noticed huge improvements when I started liking carby foods more (made this change about 4 months ago and gained about 15 pounds since then). It was so annoying as a skinny guy hearing people talk about sugar free this and low carb that, getting brainwashed when in reality that is exactly what I needed.
Low carb and little/no sugar are almost necessary for the sedentary, overweight public. For skinny lifters, carbs are the most palatable macro, especially fast digesting, so they’re great to add size.
@@REVIVALFitness Yup facts man. Crazy how few fitness influencers put a positive emphasis on carbs, or at least as a disclaimer don’t mention it’s good for skinny people.
My go to basic meal to have for tea is like eggs , precooked pasta and broccoli and green beans with a bit of leftover meat mixed in. It’s rubbery as fuck because i do it in the microwave but its easy, nothing wrong with seasonings lmao , helps it get it down you
What?! It shouldn't have seasonings?! I'm from a southern family; that's sacrilege in my house. Also, seasonings barely have any calories at all, plus some have medicinal effects on the body. There literally isn't a reason to not include at least most of em.
The reason omnivorous dieting seems easier on the surface than vegan dieting is simply because the culture eats a generally adequate omnivorous diet. As an omnivore a person doesn't need to seek out that meat has protein, or that dairy has calcium, it's common knowledge in the culture. That however doesn't mean vegan foods are harder to get nutrition from. Extra firm tofu has twice the protein density as whole eggs and more calcium than milk and it's cheap at the right place. Black beans have about the same protein per calorie/volume as eggs. So these facts need to be learned, which isn't hard to do, for a vegan diet to be efficient and effective. It's not harder to be vegan inherently it's just harder to learn a new thing than it is to stick to what your culture has taught you since birth.

This channel has been amazing in helping me with my body dysmorphia and ED
I lost 118lbs and currently weigh 138lbs at 5'8, i was terrified of gaining weight (bulking) so i kept convincing myself that maingaining was the way to go, but every time i would decide to maingain i just start intentionally eating less, currently i look completely fucked physically, face has been aged by what seems like 10 years (lines every where) and my gym performance has completely plummeted, and i just look skinny, i really appreciate the simple approach to muscle building and fat loss that this channel provides and the simplicity in nutrition it provides, still get anxious when the scale goes up but i know i have to eat to get big and ultimately achieve a physique i am truly proud of
Really appreciate it dude 🙏

Nahhhh the eggs on peanut butter toast is wildddd 😂
Facts the Doucette diet is terrible long term because of how it changes the persons food palatability and preference. Like a grilled salmon with roasted veggies and boiled potatoes probably sounds boring and unsatisfying to them but in my case or for other people as well, it sounds delicious. SSD Abel said it best, just keep things Simple and satisfying and your diet will be sustainable forever
Needing every meal to taste 'very good' is essentially an eating disorder IMO
@@REVIVALFitness That's basically hitting the nail on the head with my 'issues' around food. If food doesn't taste good, I'm much more likely to require a lot of willpower to not keep eating. But I'll also be the first to admit I got a lot of issues around food.
Just an absolute black hole, do think a 'boring' diet is the best way forward for me, but with my favourites. (Given I like a lot of 'bland' staples, couldn't live without chicken, green beans and potatoes for example.) But will make it more a week plan, to rotate salmon and steak in occasionally (and not break bank.)
How is that boring they taste very good. These people must not season properly smh.
and its def not budget friendly either
It's easy to cook exotic food all the time when you're a professional RUclipsr

I wish I could have seen this video last year, when I was stressing over missing one expensive ingredient for some protein ice cream or protein muffins or whatever. Since the gyms reopened after covid I shifted my diet to being a lot more simple (pretty much the same foods everyday) and dont regret it. I also feel a lot more satiated from real foods and it’s been a lot better for my wallet too. Great content man you’ve been a great help in getting me out of my skinny phase
Glad to hear man 🤝
@REVIVAL Fitness thank you for this video and your other videos in general. Really helping out a lot of young guys with this stuff by keeping things basic and doing everything you say you do in a relatable way. Your channel is literally a hidden gem bro. 💪🏾💯
Thank you bro 🤝
One thing I've learned is people dont like being told how much money they spend eating out
✅
The thing is you don't have to cook fresh rice/pasta/chicken every meal. I just cook in bulk and from there it's like 5 min for each meal.
✅
I approve of the overall message here. Keeping your diet simple will help you keep nutrition on point 💪

Thank you for making this video! As a novice I learnt so much 💪🏽

Mixing up your seasoning and condiments is a good way to keep things interesting. Going with Mustard is almost 0 calories and keeps taste good

Oatmeal with pbfit, chocolate jello and cinnamon combined with a proteín shake
6 Freaking doucettes blueberry french toasts
Tuna with popcorn and chobani coconut yugurt
Pretty much the dame everyday, maybe one of those Costco proteín bar now and then.
His nutrition advice as a whole is bad and based in exaggerated marketing.
I have absolute heat coming on Doucette. Stay tuned.
I eat 16 whole eggs everyday and I'm perfectly fine
I don't know about you guys but I'm learning from this guy every day.
🤜🤛
Thank you man 🤜🤛
Well said I eat a lot of boring stuff but it works.putting on size right now.a lot of oats ,eggs ,chicken, ground turkey ect.💪🏽
🤜🤛
Man I just sick of being hungry. I’m not blessed with the genetics that can eat anything
I continuously have to keep my diet in check with cuts in order to literally just stay the same
You need to modify your food choices then to be very satiating and nutrient dense at the same time. I don’t think anybody ever got fat eating mostly beef, eggs, and vegetables etc.
just eat a higher protien diet and include some eggs too and lower the sugar, eat carbs that have fiber and it might work out
as someone who has a ton of remmington james videos in their yt playlist, i can attest that is alot of stress and expensive to keep up with.
Thanks man. That might be an idea, the minimalism cookbook. For people who actually have s*** to do.
@@REVIVALFitness haha the anti-foodie cookbook. It definitely won't look pretty but it'll do the job.
This is what I learned recently too, it’s very funny you’re making this video now lol.
Built Bars are AMAZING for a sweet tooth snack. 130-150 calories, 14-17g of protein, depending on the flavor
After 6 months of only gaining 3 pounds I tried your way with the calorie surplus and added 10 pounds in 2 months.
Why haven’t I come across you sooner??!!! Bloody loving your content! You have a new sub here big fella

White rice and steamed fish, quick and tasty, works every time🙏🏼
I like to make variations on dinner between chicken and Tuna or other lean meats, but I'm keeping the other meals pretty much the same.
Morning: Turkey, couple eggs, burrito shell
Lunch: Chicken, salad mix. Hot sauce
Dinner: Chicken, salad mix, some dressing.
After workout: Banana.
I don't have to think about it. I buy the same things. Chicken running low? Throw it in the slow cooker.
Simplicity is consistency
@@REVIVALFitness People don't get it. You can remove a stress from your life. Grocery stores become easier. You get in, you get out.
I would argue that requiring every meal to taste ‘delicious’ is an eating disorder.

Good job 👊🏼
I'm glad that you brought this up. I thought I was the only one eating almost the same thing everyday.
Liked and subscribed to your content.
cheap and easy is my approach as well. good video as per usual.

That protein pasta actually slaps. It has a really nice chewy texture to it. And it barely has any more protein than regular pasta so that's not the reason to get it. I just love the texture of it.
I eat a sub from Subway every day. Convenient and protein packed.
I guess I'm very lucky that I enjoy cooking meals.
Adding pancakes and other "unhealthy" highly palatable foods has made it much easier for me to avoid bing eating over the weekend.
I eat oats(150g) and 2 whole egg atleast as 2 meals a day. Amazing protein, fat, carbs , easy to make and make me full for atleast 2-3 hrs
oats is a killer with hella protein bout 4g per 40g serving.
I eat the same shit everyday too, it just simplifies and makes things way more convenient

for me
meal 1: 1-2(790-1500 calories) cups oats/3 cups milk and 1 cup water/ 15ml butter - for 40g of oats its 150 calories and 4 grams protein - 2 cups = 16 ounces
meal 2: 3 slices of brown bread/3 tsp of butter/1-2 eggs (easy 600 calories ish with sauce)
meal 3- 16 ounces+ rice at least 200g of chicken- probably 600-700 calories +
Thats a simple meal plan - cheap and easy - and maybe a 25g protein shake
easy bulk and adjustable- reduce everything by a little bit of calories and you'll lose weight
Yes I was very skinny but I've definitely been bulking up.
oats = 1.60
bread= 0.65
10 eggs = 1.00
butter- 0.95
rice 10kg = 10.00-15.00
chicken = 16.00 max a week if you have cheap stores close by .
protein shake = 2.00 from my store
You will have to get more protein in this but I'm a beginner bulker and a hardgainer It works for me.
Me nodding along until he came for the protein pasta. They're not frankenfoods, just noodles made from legumes. Like usually one or two ingredients. I eat normal beans as well.
I hear you. But I’d say they’re hardly a legit source of serious protein in the diet if that makes sense.
This will blow up, bruh. I'm telling you

I'm interested in how a 90 minute hot yoga (Bikram) class finds you. I see you're not big on body weight exercise, but it's the best routine I've found, & the only one which incorporates flexibility, cardio & muscle building simultaneously. Good luck!
I’ve never done hot yoga but I’ve done hour long classes before and they were brutal. It’s awesome mobility and cardio.
These are part of my daily diet regime foods 1 can of tuna (130g) cottage cheese (200g) 3 large whole eggs.... Thats 80g of Protein

Dude though damn, your food looks delicious, anyone who says it isn't doesn't appreciate the simplicity
Another thing of mine I do like to have is a good cup of coffee.
Look up "how to cook pasta that doesn't suck," it's an old short I explain my method
@@REVIVALFitness thanks, i gotchu
I do this because I get bored of eating the same thing everyday. I have a basic foundation of every meal though, Protein/Complex Carb/Vegetables. That’s it so one day might be steak, Brown rice, Broccoli, or Chicken, pasta, Veggie of choice
Can’t go wrong with the big 3 plate
You have no idea how much you can eat without gaining even a pound of weight before you start bulking.
Your metabolism goes up with increased calorie intake and honestly you have to kinda forcefeed if you are mostly eating clean.
Bulking 100% worth it.
- Former obese ,was convinced was an endomorph by greg but saw the light thnx to this guy.
🤜🤛 My next video will cover this exactly

It’s rubbery as fuck because i do it in the microwave but its easy, nothing wrong with seasonings lmao , helps it get it down you
I like cajun seasoning for chicken
It’s like a uniform less to think about
Agreed
What?! It shouldn't have seasonings?!
I'm from a southern family; that's sacrilege in my house. Also, seasonings barely have any calories at all, plus some have medicinal effects on the body. There literally isn't a reason to not include at least most of em.
Seasonings are fine and they can make basic stuff like chicken, beef, etc taste better
@@REVIVALFitness cool, thanks for the correction. I almost lost my shit, lol
