Love a Pathia. A lot of people haven't heard of it and quite a lot of restaurants don't always have it on the menu but can make it on request in my experience
Outstanding channel, definitely the best cooking I think I’ve ever seen, my compliments to the chef ☝️, I would like to try some of these myself, where can I get one of those pans from, thank you 🙂
Parthia is old traditional Parsi dish mostly made using fish , tamarind and jaggery is used to get a tangy and sweet taste , I am Indian and a chef worked in india for a long time I have never heard of pathia made with tomato ketchup and mango chutney what we make in uk please get your facts right before calling it an indian curry cheers .
@@uttamchat in the UK we tend to define the term "Indian cuisine" as any dish associated with the Indian subcontinent - India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Here, sometimes you will also see wonderful dishes from other countries in the region on their menus too; countries such as Nepal, Afghanistan and Iran, even Mauritius. And let's not forget some of our most popular curries here were curries actually invented in the UK by talented, eager-to-please and eager-to-succeed chefs; curries such as Chicken Tikka Masalla and balti. So to us, the only place you can get a pathia is in an Indian restaurant. Although most of our UK Indian restaurants are actually run by Bangladeshis or Pakistanis. Confusing? Yes Awesome food? Double yes!
@@YelpBullhorn I totally agree with you but please don't call it a Indian dish if you don't know how to make it . Call it Bangla deshi , Pakistani, whatever you like but not Indian because Indians don't even know a dish like this . Please don't make us ashamed by adding Indian to it. I hope I have made it clear .

Thanks very much. You can buy the aluminium pans online or at larger Asian food shops.
@@MistyRicardo thanks for your advice , I’ll get shopping 😁, I’ve subscribed and I’ll share your videos 👍
Hey Misty, what Brand would you say is best for all the Ground Spice Powders?
Thx
The well known brands like Rajah and East End are good. I've heard good things about others too. Heera brand Kashmiri Chilli Powder is very good.
What was the name of the yellow/orange sauce you added after the garlic and onions please?
It's called base gravy, a stock made mostly out of onions. Here's my recipe: mistyricardo.com/base-gravy-recipe/
@@MistyRicardo Thanks alot for the speedy reply, liked and subbed. Enjoy your weekend mate
Great videos. How did you manage to get into the kitchen?

@@MistyRicardo Great I'll check them out
Awesome
Gonna make this a little later tonight 🤪
What was in the base ? Why Red chilli powder instead of green chillies ? No ginger / turmeric and garam masala ?
Looks yummy
Mouth is watering 🤤

Big thanks in advance
Not on RUclips but there's a great one in my latest book, Curry Compendium.
Does that not taste of burnt garlic ?
Nice! 👍🌶️🔥
No tamarind?
The chef keeps it simple for reasons of time and cost.
No Tamarind?
They don’t generally use it in Pathia in the restaurant and takeaway kitchens.
Love a pathia but please can someone tell the chef that they need to replace the batteries in their fire alarm!
it's actually the ordering system not a smoke alarm.
@@MistyRicardo In that case, I hope to hear more of it! I could tuck into one of those Lamb Pathia's right now
A Dansak is similar with lentils i think??? 🤔
nothing like patha i eat at michelin star atul k the best indian cook
Pathia is my favourite, unfortunately it’s the one dish my local takeaway doesn’t do well.
My local in Bolton does a fantastic one, very rich and tangy
Do you own following mistys own vid on here using mango chutney and tamarind paste. im sure you'll be very happy with it
Pathia is too tomatoey for me. I prefer a Dhansak myself.
Waao what cuisine is it ? I am sure its not indian .no way is it a curry 🤔
Yeah you’re right. It’s actually an Italian cheese sandwich. 😂
@@YelpBullhorn Waaoo looks like this sandwich have Bangladeshi connection hahahahah…..

No tamarind?
Not in that particular one. Chefs usually keep it simple ie lemon juice and sugar.
@@MistyRicardo interesting. I can't imagine it's as good without.
