Just have fun making videos about something you love. We live in a culture where we consume, consume, consume. You are creating something which is much more satisfying than consuming. I am much older than you, but you inspire me to push myself to create my own book channel. Also, TCOMC is on my TBR for this year. I find the size of it very daunting, but so many recommend it.
@@Lisa-li1jd that is sound advice and I remind myself that I am doing this for the fun of it every day. It took a leap of faith to post that first video but I am so glad that I did! No harm in giving your own channel a shot, it has been really fun for me! And yes, TCOMC is a vast book. But it is so worth it. Just take your time and you really have to slow down. It is a great classic work for so many reasons!
The three closest adaptations of the book are the 1964 English BBC adaptation starring Alan Badel, the 1966 RAI miniseries starring Andrea Giordana, and the 1979 French miniseries starring Jacques Weber. There are also two other adaptations for series, the 1998 series starring Gerard Depardieu and the 2024 series starring Sam Claflin. In addition to the 2024 film starring Pierre Niney, France also has other film adaptations, such as the 1929 version starring Jean Angelo, the 1943 adaptation starring Pierre Richard Willm, the 1954 version starring Jean Marais and the 1961 version starring Louis Jordan. There is the film The Prisoner of Château d'If (Узник замка Иф, Uznik zamka If) and the anime gankutsuou I have all these adaptations with subtitles, except the 1966 Italian series.
I'd say the fact that you wanted to read it again straight away is a good sign. And although many books have already ended up on my TBR thanks to you and you're not the only RUclipsr who's been talking highly of this book lately.... I probably won't read it. I don't think the story is for me, and the thickness of the book just puts me off. We will see how my reading week will be, my book is already interesting but long winded... luckily I'm already at 52% of 535 pages. Wish you a good reading week too! But on a different note, how many darts have landed in your wall? :D
@@CharlieCatHimself13 I understand for sure, the story not being for you. Would hate for you to start this grand book and then quit it halfway through. It’s a lot to get through so with this book more than most others, you have to be certain you will enjoy it! As for the dart board haha, haven’t used it in quite some time. Maybe I could have a video be “dart board picks my next book to read” Take care!
I went to see the movie about a week ago, and it was so much fun! I went out and bought the book the next day. Currently reading it now and really enjoying it.
@@SamanthaPajor that’s awesome! How are you liking the book thus far? What are are you at as well? (No spoilers for those who haven’t read it yet 😅) Thanks for checkin out my video!
@BookswithSam1 Currently on chapter 11. I don't usually annotate fiction, but I've been highlighting a bunch and taking lots of notes! Even reading it this closely, I can already tell there will be parts that are more meaningful or I will notice even more layers to, on a re-read. Like you said in your video, I think this will be a book that's just as good on a re-read!
@ for sure looking forward to a reread of it. You will have to let me know how you liked it once you finish it! Maybe with a comment on this video to let me know, enjoy it!
On of my friends recommended The Count of Monte Cristo to me,so I picked it up a week ago. I’m reading it alongsid another book rn, but it’s not my main focus. It’s a book that needs all my attention, and I find myself looking up words and references here and there, so I’m taking my time with it.
Interesting commentary. So you apparently think it's worth the time investment. I've heard many people praise this book, but I've always been hesitant to invest that kind of time into what's basically a revenge story -- seems a bit excessive, I guess. However, I'll keep your response in mind the next time I'm thinking about giving it a try. Have a good one!
@@BryanM.R.-prionic1 I reckon it is worth it, but I may have not been able to get all thoughts out in this video when I say it’s just a revenge story. It’s so much more than that. It’s a story of self improvement, of arbitrage, a multi layered love story, a multi family drama, a crime thriller, ect. There are many facets to this tale that I am sure there is something for everyone within it. All that being said however, yes the novel is very long and tedious at times. But I appreciate you keeping an open mind about it. Have a good evening!
I hope everyone has a great week of reading; thanks for stopping by!
I’m hoping to read The Count of Monte Cristo this year and I loved hearing your thoughts.
@@Maeve_Ever_Books thank you so much! It is such a great book, and I just finished watching the 1964 TV show. So so good, but read the book first 😅
