I just got a Sentro knitter for Christmas and came across your videos looking for project ideas. Your videos are so very well-detailed and provide a wealth of information. I can hardly wait to get started on my projects. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us all. Blessings to you! 🧶❤
Beautiful colours! The braid is so so sweet💓and its even more beautiful as a set! 🙏Thank you mountains Shelly (my knitting mum) for all your amazing videos! Your videos have always helped and inspired me so much! i am going to work on a braided beanie like this one for my daughter, she will totally love it! 🌺🌸💮
Lovely hat and you are a great teacher. I've had my Addi King for several months now and have made dozens of hats however they fit small in circumference. I am waiting on my Sentro 48. Hopefully it will make comfortable adult hats.
Lots of people say they are too small but I would say the greatest majority say they are fine. Just search beanies on RUclips and 99% of them are made on the 46 needle. Check out the beanie playlist on my channel. I have several different brim options for wider hats.
Very new to this knitting machine ❤ thank you for sharing. I'm finding it hard to stitch and finish 😢 but never done anything like this before. So a keen learner here 😜
Start with a more basic pattern and try this when you have learned a bit more. I have a playlist on my channel of beanies. Find a basic one and follow it as I teach and you will get this one in no time. 🥰
Shelley I decided that I am not going to let my fear of making this gorgeous beanie stop me!! I've compleated the beanie in one color but its a Jelly Bean multi color...now when you were talking about the rows where you fold the brim, I would do it exactly as yours as if I had three colors? I hope my braid comes out like yours...fingers crossed!! lol 🤞
@@sabrinahewick1224 I am proud of you and I know it will come out just as beautiful! Please post in my Facebook group when you are done. I would love to cheer you on!
This video is perfect so glad I saw this on a FB page… I’m making 3 hats for some kiddos and two of them are just like this with solid and variegated!!!! So thankful! Now I just have a question, my third hat has mostly solid with a couple rows of a white stripe. Is there a video on how to calculate stripes? Or do you think I should follow this video? Many thanks for all your videos, channel and FB page! BTW.. I’m still a newby😊 I’m not going to do the braid- too advanced yet🙃
I bet you could do the braid if you follow exactly what I did. Also, check my beanie playlist on my channel. There is a green and white striped beanie. Just change the colours how you want them.
Hi, where do you get the clips you hang on the work to keep it down, please. I have bought pegs, but I will pobably need quite a few. These clips look very useful. xx
Hello there. I just found you today when I was looking for Addi ideas. I am ordering an Addi King tomorrow. Yay! I am wanting to know how do you know how many rows to do on a regular adult beanie? Is it a measurement thing with the tape measure or another way? I enjoy the way you explain things and take it slow. Thanks.
A regular beanie is approx 9” long. Thats the basis we go off of but seriously…. it’s personal preference. Regular beanie, slouchy beanie and everything in between is what we do. Once you get your machine pick a beanie from my channel and have fun. Don’t use cheap yarn or your learning curve will be very frustrating. Start with a Latte Cake, Bernat “Premium”, Heartland, Caron Simply Soft or something that is 4 weight and soft to the feel.
Hi, I’m pretty new to this, and I’m not very good at math😅 I know that 140 is a good size for an adult hat, but how do you divide the color rows in this pattern? Thank you for your videos and all the tips and tricks, it’s so appreciated! Have a good day!
Oooh.. I was at 31 minutes and had to go to work! Got so excited about the video and thought I would be all set to go when I finished work. 😊 So I wrote to you to get a head start 😂 Thank you so much! I’ll see the end of the video when I get home!

Hi, I'm a begginer with the addi knitting machine. I'd like to do a beanie for a two year old baby. Can you tell me if I've to use the 46 or the 22 needles and how many rows I've to do? Thanks so much. Lidia from Rome
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet Thanks Shelley verry usefull. I've done my first beanie for me and I found very strange that is so tight, my head is about 22 inches. I'll try again.

Lovely hat and you are a great teacher. I've had my Addi King for several months now and have made dozens of hats however they fit small in circumference. I am waiting on my Sentro 48. Hopefully it will make comfortable adult hats.
I am thinking it is because you are using tight tension. I make 99% of my adult beanies on the 46 needle and I have made ALOT!
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet Interesting! I have tried adjusting my tension. Anyone else find they fit small?

If I am doing 140 rows, do6 I change to variegated yarn and do the eight still or continue with the solid color up to140?
I would continue changing

Did you make the pom poms?
Yes I did. I have a tutorial showing you how I make them on a Clover pom pom maker. Look for it on my channel😍
When the hat is worn you can see spacing between the braid and the normal rows. Is this because I didn’t tight my braids?
There is a spacing. I would think maybe your braid is too tight if anything. Be sure and use the proper hook size. 5.5mm or bigger.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet OK so spacing is normal and not to worry about that. I’m trying my second hat with a braid and noticed the spacing on my first and so I thought maybe I did it wrong or I miss something that you said

You would use the 46 needle
machine. The 22 needle is too small for beanies.
So 90 rows for double layer no brim and 100 if you want a brim.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet Thanks Shelley verry usefull. I've done my first beanie for me and I found very strange that is so tight, my head is about 22 inches. I'll try again.
It will loosen when you wear it. Make sure you don’t add tension to the yarn when you knit.
What size hat?
This is youth. I explain it in the video. You can make this for any size.
How many rows will it be then for adults ❤
I would do 140
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet thank you!!💖
You don’t really need these weights…..just not needed and take more of your time
I think they do make a difference. Heavier ones are even better.
