- Hello friends!
Let’s make a beanie! Not just any beanie!! Let’s make a vertically striped beanie on a 22 needle machine!
I used Bernat Premium yarn in black and Soft Heathered Grey.
This beanie matches a striped neck warmer that you can also find on my channel. Link is below.
Thank you for being a part of my channel community! You guys are the best!!
Happy Knitting!
Love,
Shelley 🥰🧶

I like this Pattern. I like the slouchy hat too. Thank you. I watch your Tutorials. Our Ministry benefits from your lessons as those in need enjoy the knits.
Thank you so much!😊
Thank you so much for the video.
Something I do when I add the pompom. After I tie the knot inside the beanie I don’t hide the strands of yarn. I take them back through the pompom and cut the strands of yarn, so they are part of the pompom. I hope that makes sense? This is Clara Dunham
Great idea!
😮 OMG!you explained sooooo well. I gave up trying to join panels because it looked uneven. Not to mention hats for my dad were impossible because they were too tight. Even though he never said so lol. Thank you so much. 💓
😍
I’m learning SO MUCH from you! And the way you explain taking out the waste yarn is by far THE BEST, clear and easy! Thank you ❤
You are so welcome!❤️
Looks great
Thank you 😊
I’ve watched so many of your videos these past couple of weeks! I’ve ordered an Addi 46, it shipped today, and i’ll have it in a few days. Can’t wait to try it out! Delightful to hear your accent, haven’t lived in Canada for 23 years, but it brings back fond memories!
I was just chatting with a friend the other day and she said, “I wonder if we have an accent to other people?” Haha! I will tell her you said we do.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet i’m from Norway, but i have alot of family in the Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal area, and i lived a while outside Saskatoon myself (and Minneapolis, and the UK…) and your accent reminds me of the mid-west canadian one:) lol
If you don’t join the tubes on the seam (ie 1& 22) pins you can ensure the joins are on the inside of hat, so when joined less problem of inconsistent stripes. As long as you ar3 consistent will work out great.
Clever idea!
I will have to try that. 😍
I love your videos! I've learned so much! You do a great job explaining what you are doing. Thanks You for making all these!
Thank you so much! 😍
I wondered what to do as the 46 needle doesn't make a big enough bobble hat for adults. It has to stretch so much. I like loose and cuddly to pull down over my ears. So, here you come with the solution. So versatile as well. Four 22 needle strips or one 46 needle and two 22 needle or two 46 needle strips, the options are so easy and useful for the yarn available. One colour, two colours or multiple. I have oddments of my hand spun yarn which would make lovely bobble hats. I'm sorry, I just can't call them beanies, I am 73 and can't change what they have been called all my life until recently!! Thanks so much for yet another clever idea and your excellent explaining style.
You are very welcome.
Perhaps your tension is too tight when you knit on the 46. I have no problem making hats even for men.
Thank you so much for the video.

Thank you for the great idea!
Love this! Very cool!
When I am Kitchener stitching the ends of tubes together I go all the way around so there is less of a “seam” appearance.
Yes, that was an option I maybe should have done.
Hi Shelly, I wondered if you were self taught on the knitting machines or did you take classes? You are extremely knowledgeable and create perfect projects!
Thank you so much! I am pretty much self taught. Learned the basics from others of course but then my creative mind kicked into high gear and I haven’t slept since!! Haha! I loom knit for years and that’s where most of it comes from. Lots of similarities.
Hi Shelly.....Great video. Would the following also work? On the Sentro 48 PANEL mode.....Knit a long striped panel, add an equal length of a single color (for the inside of the beanie), cast off. ... Fold so that stripes are vertical and the inside is the single color. Join the seam, and cinch the top. I did not try this, and thought you could visualize if this might work. Thanks!!!
I can visualize what you are saying and yes it would work but it would be a very long skinny panel. If you do it the way I think you are saying then you would do it over 11 needles because each tube on a 22 needle machine when off the machine is 11 needle width.
Have you made a squirrel yet? Someone wants me to make one with a cowboy hat😮
Haha! No I haven’t.

Would you be willing to demonstrate how to make boot cuffs using the sentro knitting machine?
Which machine ?
💖💖👍👍💖💖
Can you make this hat on a 46 pin machine I love it but I only have a 46 addi
This one needs the 22 needle….sorry.
Can someone please give me advice on how to keep my beanies from losing its form so quickly after wearing them a few times ????? Thank you in advanced for any suggestions
Maybe you need to use a bit
more tension when you knit
or use a sturdier yarn.
Would this work to make an ear warmer that lays flat instead of the twist?
@@monicab28 not sure where you are seeing a twist?
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet not for this hat but for earwarmers that have the twist in the front? I don't care for the twist and was trying to figure out a way to close the ends without a lot of bulk. I was just wondering if this method would work on them.
@@monicab28 oh ok. Yes it would work. Here is another option…

Hi does anyone know how to mend a needle on my 22 .i brought it and the top of the needle is broken its inside the machine. Need to take it apart to find it , maybe glue? Thanks
You will need to buy replacement needles if you don’t have any. Amazon sells them.
You should have gotten spare ones in the box.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet thankyou for getting back to me. I've got the sentro. I didn't get spare needles with my 48 or 22 . I will take a look thankyou. X
How many tubes total did you make? I didn’t hear it if you told us that🫤
She made 4, 3 striped ones and one grey.
