I have Attn. Deficit Disorder (so normally I skip around videos and can't focus that well on them until I decide to take on a project). HOWEVER, you are such a great teacher & your personality is so comforting, plus this project is so beautiful, and is such a problem-solving solution with the custom-sizing, that I was mesmerized and clung to your every-word all the way through to the end! Wow...thanks so much!!
I always enjoy your videos because you go slow and move up close so we will be able to see what stitches you are picking up. Your personality is also so pleasant and you have a great sense of humor which make you videos so enjoyable. Thank you for all your teachings and hard work making the videos. I have heard from several people all the steps it takes to make a great video. Bless you for the upcoming NEW YEAR. TKS Ann from Texas
Maybe do the one that is closest to your head (the one attached to the brim), in a braided join if you are finding it too tight. I don’t find it tight on my head. The seam is further back then my forehead so it’s not tight n
I love this hat!!! My row counters are at the post office ..woohoo!!! I cane to your site to look for your fair isle video and ran into this one. Glad i did.
Eeeeek, can't wait to do this one too (and share in the group :D )!!! Your tutorials are so much fun & easy to follow. Thank you for sharing with us Shelley :) So grateful to you!
Thank you for the tutorial!! I been having trouble making beanies for my big headed husband!! Now I have a question, as a beginner, I don’t understand why we need to use two different size Addie/Sentro.
@@VickyM2362 it’s just the design of the beanie. The smaller one looks like a brim. The two widths together are perfect for a beanie length. Check my beanie playlist and maybe try the beanie with the ribbed brim. It will fit a man nicely. (It’s the green one)
come up with a veriation to this pattern. used an addi 46 to knit three tubes of 115 rows. I then closed all the ends using the method shown here. Next, I used the invisible stitch to join all three into a single tube. Finally, I cinched thethe two sealed ends together to form the benie. It is 4 layes thick with a nice snug fit that does not squeeze. It does not have a fold up brim, but that could be included by adding 20-30 rows. I use a beige acrylic yarn. with this pattern all the colour changes and stitc styles like fair-isle can also be used. please share if you think it worthy of the time. thanks for the inspiration and lessons.
how to you keep elasticity in in the mattress stitch? when I stitch things with that, I end up with a tight line in the middle of the hat, which makes it unusable 😅😅
It s a better way to fit heads large adults the other way for children I have made one not neat enough so try again I like the way you show how you sts to gether
This is an adult size. Do you have the 22 needle machine? I’m assuming you so. If not the you will make two panels with the same row count as I did but it will be a lot longer and you won’t see a narrower brim color. You really need the 22.

Thank you 😍

What a pretty beanie! I really like watching your tutorials. I’ve learned so much and still learning. Thank you for sharing. I do appreciate you 😊
Thank you for your kind words, Katherine! 🥰
Love this! As a person with a big head, thank you for this. ☺️
And I am checking out those Pom-kins now. Those are brilliant.
Thank you and your very welcome! 😍
I just posted another one. Check out my channel. 😍
I love this adea ❤
@@murielgglover4157 Thank you 🥰
Fantastic hat! Something a little different and I love it! Thank you for a brilliant tutorial ❣️🌹
Thank you so much Fran! 🥰
As usual, I can’t wait to get started. Thx 🎉
Please show me your work in my FB group. I’d love to see!
You can make the head band then add to the top to make it different 😊
That’s what I did…. Isn’t it? Lol

Way to be creative! I’m envisioning a very long beanie.

Leave your line a “bit” looser or maybe try the braided join. I haven’t had trouble with it because the seam does not sit near my forehead.

I have a question please??? After doing the body of this beanie--is it possible to rib it on circular needles?Am just curious
I don’t knit with needles. So sorry! I am confident you will find a way. 😊
Can I make this on the Sentro 40 pin? It’s so cute.
You sure could! Please show me in my FB group if you make one. 🥰
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet so I just add more rows to make it fit an adult. I’m so new to this but it looks like so much fun.

I only have the Addi 46 machine could I still some how make this hat just using that machine?
You could make two tubes and have a very slouchy hat or just use one tube and have it snug to your head. You really need the 22 for this.
You could probably make a flat panel on a 46, then fold it over and seam it up to make a tube.
Yes, thank you for that reminder. Make a flat panel over 22 needles and sew it up the sides to make the narrower tube.
just t I have been looking for. My addi 46 with good tension makes a beanie that is way too tight.
I also have a beanie on my channel with a ribbed brim. That makes it wider as well

The link is under the video in the description.
I’m not that great on the computer, so I don’t know where the link is, can you tell me how to do it
No problem. Here is the link.

what about those of us who only have a 40 pin machine...???
Use the 40 and the 22.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet thanks Shelley.
There is a 6 needle difference but when it’s off the machine in half (tube) it’s only a 3 stitch high difference. (I think!!!) hahahaha
