I live in a quadplex townhome, and it’s solid concrete ceilings, and walls for the most part. So for me there’s no option to install in-wall speakers or run hidden cables. I have a 14’ by 11’ living room with 9’ ceilings so I’m really excited to see what the Dragon can do.

$3K to $4K for a soundbar is expensive BUT I want one pretty badly and looking for a good excuse to get one! My soundbar is 10 yrs old! Can I afford it, yes but do I want to? I can afford a Porsche but do I want to? I may “need” this though!! 😂

Plenty of cars have individual serial numbers on their plaques. The latest Mustang GT350 and GT350R come to mind. I used to have a Ducati 996SPS that was #361. I have an 1989 25th Anniversary 911 that has an individualized plaque. Ferrari, Mclaren, Bentley and Aston Martin regularly do numbered plaques notating the specific chassis number of special editions. No doubt other makers do as well.

Even though it's only virtual Dolby Atmos on the Dragon will still probably sound great and even 5.1 movies will probably sound great too but
I'm just wondering when listening to a 2-channel rendered movie, will one actually hearing that same 2-channel signal coming out of all 21 channels. One would certainly hope not.

I believe there’s a setting that splits the entire systems drivers into two for that and from reviews of music they say it sounds phenomenal! But can’t tell till one hears it for themselves

The Dragon is the mother of all sound bars. It’s where all other sound bars come from. No. It’s like Joe said, it’s an in between. It’s a great choice for someone in an apartment who wants good performance in a small package without the hassle of piecing a system together.

If Nak is serious about getting this model into the hands of reputable reviewers, I’m sure Andrew and Kristi wouldn’t say no.
Re total numbers, perhaps the 1000 is a production batch limit, with more of same to follow?
The only deficit I could see in the value calculus is the limited number of HDMI inputs compared to what is available on even budget level AVRs. As much as Dan at Emotiva might want to promote the idea, not everyone with multiple hardwired sources wants to use their TV as a switching hub - particularly as many of the latest models are limited as to the number of 4K@120Hz inputs, of which one is generally consumed by the eARC output.
Of course, as always, it’s up to the end user to carefully analyze their use case. I’d love to be in the position that a something like the Dragon was for a secondary/bedroom/kids playroom system.
First world problems, right guys? 😂

Pretty low plus you can independently turn on or off the 4 speakers (total) in each sub. Pretty cool to play around with.

Caleb from Digital Trends already said that he measured it and goes flat down to 40Hz which in my opinion is way worse than what you get on their flagship Shockwafe 9.2.4 with the two 10inch.
For 4,000$ this isn’t good. If you’re a bass head or love good clean bass in general this is overpriced for what you’re getting in that department.

A friend was able to buy one of the first 500 units and the sound quality and the atmos effects that this dragon spits out is amazing. I was able to order one today and I’m supposed to receive it in October but I won’t keep it because I already have a 7.2.4. I’m to sell it on eBay or something

The Dragon is for people like me with a smaller listening area (living room). That basically is why I have one coming soon. Channa is right they have already raise the price after this initial run. They are blaming Dragon parts and material are getting harder to get. A couple commenters have already received their system and are saying it is blowing them away with everything it promises Take Care fellas. Stay cool it is suppose to be really not the rest of the week. Hot Rod.

This is taken from their website: “We will continue to honor the current preorder pricing of $3499.99 for 1000 units, while supplies last. After the 1000 units, DRAGON will be available at a new retail price of $3899.99. This pricing adjustment is implemented with the objective of addressing the challenges we are currently facing.”

I think this is for people who are looking at Sonos. If you were to build out a sono's system it'd probably be similar in price. I think that's their competition.

4,000$ for Subs that goes flat down to 40Hz and then start to roll off. This is no go 🙅‍♂️ you rather save a couple of thousands by going with their flagship 9.2.4 eARC Shockwafe and the two 10 inch subs which dig lower to around 25Hz and 28Hz being the flat down freq and are way more punchy.
That’s obviously if you’re more into bass. If you’re one of those folks who love the higher frequencies, this will definitely going to be a win in the books with all the tweeters they implemented on this one.

    • @andrewe1253
      @andrewe1253 Год назад +1

That is what I ve been saying too. The shockwafe 9.2.4 earc sound freaking awesome with excellent surround and deep bass. The dragon is just high frequency soundbar without much of the punch that 9.2.4 earc offers.
