I'm listening about 70dBA at 3 meters from the speakers. Thats for 'proper' listening, but I more often listen at lower levels at late night for example.

Everyone that gets into mixing music in atmos thinks that all the speakers should be set up to create phantom centers everywhere. It turns out the front is the only usable phantom center (maybe one behind you too but it sounds way different) That being said, the experience of listening in atmos is so much more than you expect.

You guys are never gonna be satisfied until you discover the treble and bass control knobs. Lol

I usually listen between 8:45 - 9:30. On rare occasions or special songs, I'll slam it to 3:00 - 4:30

My sound level meter says my listening level is 60db A lot of music nowadays is mastered quite loud, so you can listen to a lot of it at lower volumes, especially "The Black Keys" albums

Take care of your ears! Listen to music at a reasonable volume AND protect your ears when using power tools, and dare I say... at loud concerts! Unsolicited advice from someone who has some hearing loss in both ears and tinnitus in one ear.

Assuming a pop song without a great deal of dynamic range, I usually listen with the mids and treble at about 70db and the bass at 85. When it comes to movies and other music like classical which is more dynamic I can't really say tbh because it's way more varied. I've tried to target 80dB (@-20dBFS) for 'nearfield reference' used for streaming movies and shows, but I still end up adjusting the volume by ear sometimes because material can be mixed differently. Personally I find whatever volume it is they have in commercial theatres too loud in the mids and highs.

After watching this channel several times I think Erin is the only one worth listening to.

I've heard that calibration at 75dB is 85dB on Marantz and Denon

Maybe perceived loudness depends on your room size/decay time.

My SPL meter shows 85-93db. Marantz with audyssey on. Stereo 2 channel with subs. Mostly around 83 but loud choruses and breaks will jump to 93 on c-weighted. A weighted is much lower. Maybe 10 db lower. Marantz is around -10 or -6 when I peak 93.

my system has peak output at 16hz, and slope down from there on the graph, 100db at 16 is not loud. it is really hard to compare how loud i play compared to others.

70 is loud

Joe, it depends on the pink noise signal from your receiver.. I think I've heard like -30db rms. You might be hitting 90-100+ when you get into music or whatever. You have to consider all these factors. So many variables relating to the receivers "track" and whatever music or movie it is and how it was mixed, It makes sense that the other guys are like "uhh, I just use my ears"

Joe, how about supporting a Double Bass Array (Waveforming) subwoofer setup (4x4). So in other words, mimicking that which Trinnov is now well on their way to developing for their processors (which are well out-of-reach for most people). Not sure how that would fit in, as I have never before used MSO, despite implementing multi-sub setups for many years now.

I have high hopes for the less complicated or just easier MSO that Joe might be able to get done. Three cheers for that!

The best receiver. No complaints. My 7.2.4 setup is fantasic! ! Great 2-channel receiver. Gaming is on point. You'd have to spend 2-3 grand more to get a better receiver. Love the dirac!! I would definitely recommend.

These receivers are not even in the same league as the RZ50. RZ50 with Dirac all day long! You'd have to consider stepping up to the NAD or Rotel to find any noticable differences... Huge bang for the buck!

KEF Reference Meta's. Objectively the best measuring speakers(better than perlisten), virtually distortion free beyond reference levels with room pressuring bass and dynamics for days! If I'm paying that amount of money I wont accept ANY flaws in the measurements.
