good info 👍
Great video thanks love it.
Hey thanks for watching!
Another great informative video. Thanks 🎖️
Thank you sir!
Working my way towards an AAdvantage card. 💪🏽 GS cards looks better than Citi’s to me so far.
In December 2022, I applied for the Citi Custom Cash and they pulled my Equifax credit report. I live in Pennsylvania. As of now, I have not yet been given a credit limit increase, but they did start me out at $6,900, which I think is pretty good. Also, I have heard data points that suggest Citi cardholders can product change from a co-branded card to a Citi ThankYou points card.
Hey Interesting John, you're 2nd person to mention EQ, I will add to our data page, and look into the product change you mentioned
Received 6k costco card today 6/17/23 at costco, after declines 4 times for this card, score 787, 7 equifax inquiries in last yr, 39 in last 2 years. utilization 1 percent. I have shell citi card for 2.5 years in good standing. Shell was easy, had 56 inquiries and 742 score at the time with 2% utilization. Not too interested in bank cards, prefer credit unions, but the Costco fuel at a quarter a gallon lower than everybody else but Sam's with 4 percent cash back is a good deal to not take advantage. Live in GA, so Equifax is pulled.
Hey congrats! This was business Costco or personal?
Got approved 10 days ago for the Diamond preferred 6.8k. They pulled Equifax in SoCal. Score was 660 due to 60% usage. This is my second ever personal cc after 2years on Wells Fargo platinum 3k limit. 3 inquiries
Before this I was denied about a year ago for the Costco business, but I think it’s because I missed their call and never called back. Same thing happened this time but I was able to call back. They tend to wanna have you over the phone before they approve, so make sure to lookout for that.
Good intel, thanks for sharing and congrats on new card!
Wow they approved you with 60% cc utilization imagine if your utilization was 5-10% limit would be bananas
@@mrhrcollins ya 100%
I live in Texas. Citi pulled Equifax for Prestige and AA platinum business cards but Experian for AA executive card. Just like other banks, the higher tier cards need less inquiries and recently opening cards to get approval. Prestige is gone but under 0/6 and 2/12 were the requirements for the approval. I was 1/6 and 1/12 for the AA executive card.
Hey thanks for the intel!
This video is A-EFFING-MAZING
Glad you like!
All these gems you give you should be a jeweler !!
Its getting heavy carrying it all!
Citibank first fitur menguntungkan
Their Citi Mobil gas, Citi Shell MC, Home Depot cards have different underwriting and are easier to obtain.
I keep receiving no pre approval offers but I keep getting preselected mailers for the American advantage weekly in the Mail. Definitely not applying anytime soon 😂😊
Interesting, pay attention to the language on the letter itself, if they giving APR, CL etc. Also what is it saying at the top, pre-approved, selected, what. That will help give you idea
I was “guaranteed approval” for citi custom cash on credit karma, and of course was skeptical. I was pre approved for nothing on citi website. Decided to go for it and was approved for $7,600. Pulled Experian here in Cali…Was hoping for a larger limit, but I’ll take it.
Need to look up they’re increase rules. Hard or soft pull, and when is it safe to request one
Nice! Congrats, that is a great win to hear about the CK matching tool!
Quick question so with their 24 month rule with sign up bonuses does that transfer to cards in the same card family? Like if I get the Citi premier do I need to wait 2 years to get the sign up bonus on the Citi rewards plus? Or same scenario with the Citi double cash and Citi custom cash? The wording on their website is really confusing lol.
My score avg 755-770 and I was denied today. I called their phone line and was told I was declined because I had too many inquiries. I only had 2 inquiries - one of which was them.
Wait till you get the letter and see what else it says as reasons, should be like 2-4 reasons on there, those will most likely be more so apart of the denial. The inquiries had nothing to do with it
Great content.
I have a question. I have the citi custom cash, and 8 days later, I got approved for the citi premier. I'm looking at getting their business aa card. Do I still have to wait the 65 days before I apply even though it's a business card ?
Great question, I don't know. I would assume yes because they will still HP your personal for that card
I get the mailers for the AA card but they always say pre-selected. I don’t trust it. When I check the pre-approval on the Citi site there isn’t anything there.
That on its own I wouldn't trust either
I was approved for a citi premier about 10 days after being approved for the custom cash
Custom cash pulled from exp
Premier pulled from equ
I live in ohio
Im looking to get the double cash if i get a pre qu mailer .but i dont want to push my luck so soon appling for it cold turkey.
That 200 bucks offer they are currently doing for the double cash does sound nice tho .
Thanks for the intel! I haven't seen people getting a 3rd card inside a month, 2 cards yes but not 3- no idea if its possible. You may want to wait
@WalletMonkeys for sure, I will wait until mid-January or if I get a pre qu mailer . I still have to pay the custom cash and premier welcome offers . It will give me time to pay them off . Hopefully, the double cash will still have a welcome offer available.
I will keep ya posted
Sounds good!
Applied today. $36k annual income. $1800 non taxable due to military compensation. Second credit card. First one was discover with $3k limit about 600 on that card at the time of application. Denied. Also authorized user on dads account with great history. Disappointed to say the least. Will update once I get decision letter
Did you use prequal before hand or just went in cold?
@@WalletMonkeys from my understanding they no longer have prequal. I did however call last week in an attempt to get a better sign up offer and they had something similar to a prequal over the phone there.
action packed
Recently tried to apply for the Personal Diamond preferred. Going for that 0% intro apr. Live in Florida. I was hoping they would pull Equifax, but they attempted Experian. I have Experian locked down because too many inquiries over there right now. They even sent me text stating if I unlock my Experian, I can come back and finish the application. But, don't want to do that right now, so I'll pass.
Interesting, great data will add that in! Thank you!
I'm in Florida as well. They pulled Equifax for the Citi AA card
UPDATE: So, a few days after applying and choosing not to unlock my Experian, I started to get pop ups for all Citi Cards in both CK and Experian, with 90% and "good" approval odds. Waited another day just to see if the results would be consistent and they were. So, I went ahead and pulled the trigger, unlocked Experian and was approved! And to confirm THEY DID HP EXPERIAN. But, it was worth it. 💯 So, maybe I indirectly found a strategy to help ensure approval.
Ok great to see confluence on that datapoint
Hey almost missed this, congrats!
I applied in April for the Custom Cash $4.6k. They pulled Experian in Va. Score was 735. Credit Karma said my score was good enough but prequal said different.
So prequal was not getting any result, but CK was and you pulled trigger and got $4.6k? Congrats on the limit!
👌
got approved. I activated the card, but I can't use it. They are telling me that I need to verify my information over the phone: phone number, credit card accounts that I have, ect. It just seems so sketchy. I have never had to do this with a bank before. Is this how they do things?
Hey congrats! I haven't dealt with that personally but as long as you're calling into the correct bank (double check emails) and if so then should be legit
When I do the pre-qual page and submit my information, I keep getting "This page is temporarily unavailable. Please try again." 🤷♂
Try different browser maybe
Citibank does not provide much benefits for long time. I go with Chase which have much more benefits.
Does Citi use the same pull when applying for a second card within 9 days of the first card?
Great question, I got 2 HPs personally when I got back to back cards (I did prequal for first one then targeted mail for the 2nd)
I just my card on the mail. But I was already told I have to wait for another letter before I can use it. I got the simplicity card is this normal??
Ugh maybe, if you already got the card not sure what that would be. I would call, and/or login see if anything with limit has changed
I got approved over the phone in like 49 seconds is that normal ? It says my card is coming in 5/10 business days .this is the regular checking account by the way
That is fast for sure! Congrats on the approval!
Do we need a bank account to apply for business credit card?
No sir
Does anyone knows if citi business cards reports to personal credit?
They do not walletmonkey.io/business-credit-card-intel/
They don’t.
Citi can approve ONLY if you are a citizen or green card holders.
Do you know someone who tried under ITIN?
@@WalletMonkeys I live in the US 2 years and have all the docs including SSN, I have other banks credit card, car loan, and 720 credit score. I called to the bank, the first person told me you can apply if you have a residential address in the US. But a few others bank workers told me credit cards are only for US citizens and Green Card holders. And on their web site under credit card section I found: 'Clients must be U.S. resident and/or U.S. Citizen'. That's pretty said. Cause a week ago I applied for Costco Anywhere Visa and this morning received a letter that I have send them or US passport, or Green card, or document that I can vote.
They also recommended to go to the branch. But there're no citi banks in AZ. The closest are in Vegas and in California. And still I don't understand how people in the bank will help me. Although I have a friend and she's not a citizen and she has this card. But she's authorized user who's the citizen.
Oh wow, interesting! This is the first time I have heard this so thank you for sharing! I don't think branch can help you either unless them manually submitting your ID verification somehow routes differently as it sounds like that's the issue. I would suggest just moving onto another bank personally, comparable rewards cards other places (Amex, Chase for example), but only one Costco card.
They no longer offer prequal
Ya just looked and its not there, thanks for heads up
The pre qualify page on the Citi site says, “Thank you for your interest in Citi credit cards.
At this time, you cannot check to see if you prequalify for a Citi credit card online. Instead, you can view our full offering of Citi credit cards here.”
This is only 8 days after the posting of this video. Did they get rid of it?
Sounds like you got your reports locked down or maybe 2nd tier data furnishers locked down so they can't soft pull
@@WalletMonkeys I’ve never locked my credit and Experian says it’s unlocked.
The Citi prequalify page doesn’t have anywhere where I can enter any information. It’s only says the message that I previously posted.
Just curious, does it vary from state to state and it’s basing my location off my ip address? I tried two different web browsers to no avail.
Weird, you're not out of US or using VPN are you?
@@WalletMonkeys nope nothing of the sort. In the U.S., on a laptop using regular Wi-Fi.
Had some people try it, and we all getting same message so I guess their prequal is down. That is the first time I have see that happen with Citi
CitiBank against one who has a BK from 2015?
You asking what are odds?
@@WalletMonkeys correct. Some financial institutions are “sticklers” for those with a BK on CRs.
Ok great question, I would say better odds then Chase, slightly worse then Capital one maybe.
Seems the pre approval no longer exist
Yep literally a day after this video goes up, after being up for years...pffff..
@@WalletMonkeys Right when I was looking for a 2% card to complete my setup 😁
Citibank are a bunch of crooks.
We could probably make that argument against all of them to be fair
Great information. When I got the Custom Cash card, they pulled Equifax. I got my first credit limit increase after 5 months.
Did you request the increase or was it automatic? What was your starting limit, and increase?
ok, this is 2nd one stating Eq in the comments, what state you in if you don't mind?
@@WalletMonkeys Massachusetts and I love your channel.
@@Black____ SL was $6,400 and I requested the increase. CLI was approved for $1,500.
@@mastere108
Cool. Thanks
Recently approved for my 30th open credit card account but.... Citi denied me for AA card for having to many recent accounts. They pulled Equifax
Dang that sucks, but you got 30 cards so you shored up & diversified!
@SledgeIncTeam Sledge, what up? Haven't seen you on here before. Salute 🖖
@@michaelstewart1838 What's up Michael! I try to support all the channels that give good info. Even if they don't support mine 🫡
Live in Mo and Citi. AA Biz pulled from Equifax only, FICO was 815
BOOM! Thank you sir, approved? If so what was starting limit?
Citi Advantage Business world elite MC in Texas pulled Equifax personal. In may 2023.
798 Fico 8.0
1500 CL open
Awesome, thanks for sharing! Will add
798 and they only gave you 1,500 smh
They gave me that same limit in 2018 and I had a 750 or above. They give low SL’s on business cards.
@@Eric-sq2to what about their personal cards?
@@SledgeIncTeam They are more generous on the personal side, 14k AAdvantage card, like how they lower APR’s too.
It is one thing to have an accent.
It is one thing to have a heavy accent.
I have no issue with either.
But when I cannot understand ONE GODDAMN WORD the Citibank customer service representative is trying to say, that is problematic.
They should have at least 2% proficiency in English in order to be hired to purport to provide customer service in English.
Expecting that standard is more than reasonable.
Hahahaha, I agree the standards gotta change there, and I don't think thats a tall order to ask for!
You're so handsome
