I really like citi cards:
- no 5/24 rule
- can combine TY pts
- NO hp for CLIs
- transfer partners
- can product change between any card (except costco)

It seems like citi is just as popular as chase.they both have good cards two ways to get to the same destination.
They pull Equifax in NY for the Double Cash card

Is CITI sensitive to new accounts owned in last 12 months?
They pulled EQ for me. I did not go through with the application.
Citibank definitely has a pretty good range of cards but they don't get the most admiration because 1.) their starting limits are generally low 2.) Hard pull CLI's when requested and most important 3.) They often deny the most well qualified applicants (800+ FICO, well rounded profile) for ridiculous reasons like having 0% utilization or having a single inquiry in the past 6 months.
They're like Capital One in the sense they want people who hold a low amount of revolving debt around 10% - 15% so they can tax people on interest rates in addition to merchant fees.
Approval data points for the Citi Premier card are all over the place on MyFICO... Maybe it's the 80,000 ($800) 'Thank You' point bonus causing so many denials lol
Ya great points, they still are in that sorta Cap 1 family/category in terms of who they are actually looking for in terms of clientele

You can put them in the normal bank category, where anywhere up to 6-7 inqs seems fine
They keep sending me notices I'm approved for the Costco and AAirlines cards...I'm not biting, there are better cards out there.🤣😊👌
ya depends on what else ya got, for an Ex hp though ya I wouldn't be super excited to get either if you going for something like chase

I got a prequalified offer for diamond and simplicity through the prequalified app option on the site. It’s funny but I am getting balance transfer offers through this and Experian. I have 2 inquiries in the last year and the last one was Amex preferred blue card with annual fee. In feb, I wonder if I have waited long enough I just got back the 5 points that Amex took for the hard inquiry. I am nervous . I have 5 total cards and 4 inquiries total for lifetime. Cheers ❤ I’ve never been denied yet. So I don’t want to start that rut. I feel like I have enough cards with a combined total of 18300$ CL.
Ya I will say its better odds when you start seeing confluence like that with prequal tool, then on matching engines like Experian, Credit Karma etc. Let us know if you pull the trigger!

I thinking about going for the citi premire. I have a score of 761, 4 inquires but one will fall off in January, average age of accounts is 3years 4 months but oldest card is 11 years old, I have 1% credit utilization, 0 late payments and it has been about 6 months since i last applied for a credit card. you think my odds are good even though experian does not have me matched with that card?
Strong profile, whats stated income? So you went through prequal for citi and got nothing back?

I applied for citi diamond preferred i was approved $6500, they pulled equifax. i waited for 15 days to apply best buy credit card pulled from experian and i was denied. I had credit score of 740 with eqifax and experian was 704 for. Average age of acount is 1 year 9 months. I live in PA.

I was approved for the custom cash card about 4 days ago they pullled exp . I juat got a prequ for the priemer and aaatvantage. I rather have the premier. My issue is , within the lst month i was approved for the csp , venture x and custom cash. With about 5 hard inquiries. Exper score as of today is 722 i live in ohio . Should i go for it after i wait the 8 days ? I make 169k a year
BOOM! Congrats! What was limit? You have quite a few new cards reporting now, was it targeted mail piece/email? I got that before and know many others who did too and pulled the trigger, if you do it the limit will probably be smaller, but if you really want it then ya go for it!
@WalletMonkeys csp and premier are targeted mail pre quality. Custom cash I just went for it . They sent a mailer for the simplicity. I wasn't falling for it. . Limit for custom cash is 6500
ya so if you did get approved for 2nd card, will most likely be less than that original SL of the custom cash. Again I did same thing, went in cold on first one just off prequal on website then used prequaled mailer for 2nd card and got both
@WalletMonkeys question about the custom cash. Can I buy a 500 dollar visa gift card with it at a grocery or drug store every pay cycle, and it still gives me the 5 percent cash back ... Or will it only be worth 1 percent ?
If approved for the premier card, I hope I at least get a $ 4k limit so I can meet the 3 month 4k requirement, lol
Gift cards are usually excluded from higher cashback and multipliers

Highest I have seen is $26k on starting limit
I agree ☝️ with the targeted offer which 90% bad experiences, regarding US bank credit most people start with $500 and I was more than lucky to start with 10k and 8k with Citi Custom Cash.
