Sounds like a 4-speed Allison. It’s a beautiful bus. I would love to own one someday. Gwinnett still has a few 1998 Blue Bird 3800s with the DT in them, I love them.
That is my absolute favorite spec. A Blue Bird body on an International 3800 with that particular color around the 8-ways, and air conditioning! The only missing feature seems to be a radio, but if I ever get the chance to buy a Blue Bird 3800...
I haven't seen or rode in one of these old bluebird dt466 in at least 10 years. So it's been a while since I last seen one of these old bluebird buses.
South carolina got eveery penny they spent out of they 1988 bluebird internationals. And they didnt want to let them go when they did. They retired them all around 2020. Mechanics loved them. As long as they kept them on the road international should automatically give us a better fleet price . That's why we dont have any international state buses now because Thomas and bluebird gives us a better deal and international won't.
@@timsimmons5190 it’s pretty hard to kill these old birds. They definitely stepped up to the plate to keep us going back when our new-at-the-time MaxxForces started acting idiotic
I felt kinda guilty once. Because I kept hoping to ride a spare. Specifically a 04 fs65. Because I had ridden one for about a decade. And I knew i was not going to get that many more chances to ride one again. So I kept hoping under my breath that I would ride one. Eventually the current bus i was on had to be taken out of action for a few days. So I was on a spare which happened to be a fs65. The driver hated it. So the whole time I rode on it I was thinking that I somehow was at fault. Never did say anything about it. Until now.
@@LMDProductionsOfficial they were handicapped tho. 04-103 I think. Is on one of the live streams on bus driver 71's channel. But I don't know what happened to the one I rode for all those years. That was 101

Always loved those model bluebirds. Great driving buses
We still have a 97' TC2K in service up in Forsyth, love these older blue birds when they weren't built like the equivalent of a trash can.
The highly requested old BlueBird is here!

Hey I have a question for you
do your students like when you drive different busses?
@@AspectGate most of them don’t care some of them don’t like spare buses, but most of the time they just roll with it
