Putting out, "Everything is demonic, except the things that I like" energy.
He had lightsabers on his weapon rack. I'd be curious how he resolves that one
@@karthin8017 He said something to the effects of "relics of my previous life." So that would be how he resolves it, by acting like the story about magic space wizards don't matter to him anymore and thus have no power to attract demons to him.
He even had an arcade machine, another popular scapegoat for fanatical people to blame.
This man is straight up evil. He’s summoning vulnerable people to him so he can prey on their spiritual weakness. By telling everyone everything they do is demonic…he’s planting a seed. Smoking a cigarette doesn’t have demonic intention until that correlation is made in your head and…whos making that intention? HE IS. He’s telling people to get rid of crosses, and apparently if demons love crosses and can say “in gods name” then they could also probably pretend to be demon fighters to draw in already spiritually vulnerable people. He’s… I don’t trust this man and I’m not even religious. Something feels evil about him.
I only watched this video for r&l cuz this guy is wrong and contradicting himself in so many ways. He’s gotta be in a psychosis or something.

Brian had to know how he was going perceived by the vast majority of those who watch this, but he still chose to do it. I find it interesting that when Link wanted to stab the guy and missed, Brian said it was because he prayed for him to miss. Yet when Link got a nat 20 and asked him what he attributed it to, Brian said "hey you know, it just happens". That's quite the fickle belief system.
That's how fanatics and cult leaders tend to be, take credit for things going their way despite the lack of input, gaslighting you into thinking they did something for you, and shrug off and/or blame outside forces when things don't go as they wanted.

"Yeah your mental disorders and drug dependency, that's demons man" sounds like the way people thought back before sense came around
Yeah, when they drilled holes in the skull to "let the demons out". If he actually believes what he says, he needs mental help asap.
Metaphorically, I agree. Addiction and insanity are their own demons, but mostly not in the way that this guy is saying. The times when they are are rare and far in between, and the church procedure actually requires that mental illness and other explanations are fully ruled out before proceeding (don't believe me? i understand, as they only added that part to the doctrine officially in the 90s).
Sounds like conservatives today
I love the thought of demons sitting in the corner waiting to pounce at any moment. “Oh, wait Carl. It’s a friendship circle. That’s ok.”
This, and the imagery of the demon getting the peanut assignment, must be made into a movie.
unpopular opinion: brian is hilarious. not on purpose, obviously he’s not trying to be, but the way they shade him and react to his comments is so funny.
True, I was laughing my ass off at him 😂
Totally agree,
I feel that's definitely the vibe they were trying for with this video.
I think its more on purpose than he let's on
I love how Link has 0 patience for Brian's bs and doesn't even try to hide it, meanwhile Rhett is still willing to listen even though he most assuredly knows it's nonsense.
what we learned here is that Link is apparently born to play d&d he's more committed to the game than some people I know who have been playing for years lol
for real!
I feel really bad cause I'm that friend that isn't as into it. I've openly told my group that most of the reason I play is so I can have a weekly reason to see them. But our recent campaign has been fairly interesting
I was amazed at how great he was at it
He is a presenter, of course he's more comfortable being out there and loud than people who don't have his experience
At least you were honest, and it's admirable you do something just to see them
22:43 Bryan looks like the kind of guy who would totally be into D&D and I think he started getting into it here
I was literally thinking the same thing, like he seems to be enjoying himself 😂
It’s really easy to expose people to demons when you condition them to believe EVERYTHING is demonic and that they should fear demons.
Job security.
“It’s not medically advisable to rely on exorcisms to treat allergic reactions” is not something I thought I’d see in a R&L video 😂
But, unfortunately, necessary
apparently exorcism *is* medically advisable for addiction and brain tumors though... :/
@@clusterhugs that’s fucked

Yes! even when it got a bit tense, they were able to bring it back and bring it all together!
honestly, yes 👏
i think he purposedly make the monster a demon so everyone could be on a same goal, to kill the demon, and that is genius
as someone with tourettes, and multiple chronic physical and mental illnesses, i get told a lot that its not real and that i just need to start going to church again. many times by people very similar to this guy. hes spreading dangerous beliefs that more people should know about so they dont fall victim to it.
100% giving him an unmoderated platform to say these things would be a bad Idea, but shining a light on the absolute idiocy it takes to think or say them out loud could help someone.
THIS. THANK YOU
Fact. This guy shouldn't be given a platform. They should put #sarcasm on the screen every time the guy is speaking.
It makes me sad to think that there are people who can't see through his BS.
My thought exactly.
I think Brian wanted to make sure he brought what Rhett and Link wanted for the video. He agreed to the whole thing and I think his presence was exactly what they were hoping for in the video. Great video all around.
the way that rhett and link immediately felt comfortable roleplaying is so fun to see!! as a DM i see a lot of new players very nervous about committing to roleplaying -- i'm totally convinced rhett and link would LOVE a real game with people they know!! would love to see that one day :)

I have looked at enough religious nutterbutters to know that even nut allergy demons arent too far fetched for that crowd, but this guy is a acts a bit to nice and well rounded.
I understand a lot of the comments expressing concern about Rhett and Link platforming this guy. However, deconstruction is a ongoing process and confronting past believes in a way that helps show just how ridiculous they are can be a healing mechanism for people who have experienced this sort of nonsense.
Ironically at the end of this video, the "demon" Rhett and Link defeated was the childhood indoctrination that prevented them from enjoying D&D as children. There is a cathartic aspect to this for sure.

100% Brian also played a trick there in the discussion, cause he mentioned how after he exercised the peanut demon the little girl was able to eat pecan. Pretty surely it’s entirely satire bro
Yeah especially when link has had family member i believe passed away due to Cancer.

I love the symbolism of the snake. Brian said “it’s probably the devil” but then it was Craig who protected them. It was a nice representation of them overcoming their heavily religious upbringing to find joy in their lives.
Kudos to all the players and the DM for dealing with that peanut gallery for an entire session. I would have ragequit very fast
Links face when his Elvish tattoo was labelled as demonic writing 😂
Yeah like who tf is this guy😭
EVERYTHING is DEMONS, didn't you know? 😂
I've never seen 2 middle-aged men try so hard to be relevant in a children's domain
I laughed out loud when he was like yea demon writing😂
Yeah sure, not the made up language of a university professor, no, it's demon writing
*sigh*
I need another session where Link finally finds his elf father, perhaps in the woods
🤣 Yessss!
But under a blur spell so he is out of focus
His father wields the Master Sword in the land of Hyrule
Said elf father would probably roll a 20 in Charisma and tell the best “dirty jokes”. 😂
And bring rhett father tonplay the role of link elf father
Link: Stab it where?
DM Lamar: It's 12 feet tall so probably in its abdomen or legs.
Link: Is there an exposed ballsack
Lamar: *face of absolute disbelief and defeat about Link's shenanigans*
"No magic guys!"
Rhett: so im playing a warlock
The crazy thing is...Brian's actual life is just one big D&D game. Only difference is, he can't tell it's all just make believe.
woah
True. Poor guy..
this reminds me of the futurama episodes that reference D&D and it's basically an alternate reality that Bender creates
Duuuuuude
He's actually neurodivergent. I didn't know this is what he's been up to over the past few years, but he used to be a totally normal nerdy guy...
Full disclosure, Lemar is a close personal friend of mine and we play DnD together a lot. Never heard of Rhett and Link before. Now, that said, this was a really fun video. Sans Brian, who made my eyes roll so hard I thought I was gonna have to chase them down the street. Anyway, Lemar is a great DM and it would be great to see them bring him back for a more regular game of DnD without backseat Brian. I would tune into that. Great job all around by the players and the DM.
There's a running joke where they would announce items or people that win a competition as [something] Brian e.g. Diet Brian, Cereal Brian and Bacon Brian. Backseat Brian is more perfect of a name than you realize.
@@r0mit That’s awesome haha
Let him know we(the mb’s) appreciate his dm style and patience .😊 we want to see more of his skill
@@CindoBaby Happy to pass that along for you!
Speaking as a fellow DM, he did an amazing job.
17:20 he moved faster than a lawyer saying "U don't have to answer that"
Link's quest to find his father gave me Gorguk flashback😂. I should have known he would be spectacular at this because he give himself fully to the role, but still, what a masterpiece I haven’t laughed like this in what feels like forever. Now I am praying for a Dimension 20 appearance of these guys❤
AHHH THAT'S MY DUNGEON MASTER!! You did so well, Lemar!
He's amazing!
32:01- If i was that woman, it would have taken everything in me to not end "you know what's a really cool thing about playing games is that when you're done playing with them, you just go back to your real life" with "but when we're done here, you're still going to be a psycho"
I loved when Brian asked Katie if she was okay with witchcraft in real life and she looked him dead in the eyes and said, "YES."
I’ve had to pause this video several times and come back to it over a couple days because it’s genuinely exhausting to watch. This man is unwell
