it's INCREDIBLE how the premise of this video is just "go to the dessert, dig a hole" but, they managed to make it a 26 MINUTE LONG VIDEO, AND THEY MADE JUST DIGGING A FREAKING HOLE SO ENTERTAINING these guys are magicians, mad respect I loved how much water you squeezed out of the "digging a hole" rock, it was really cool, how you made a song, a mini sketch a 3d recreation, and a miniature set of the flipping hole, just to know what a "medium-sized" hole is The comedic timing, the documental-like feel, and all the work you guys have put into this is INSANE and you know what's also insane? That I managed to make "this video is amazing" into a 7-line-long comment!
This needs to win an Emmy or something, some kind of award. This is one of the most remarkable things I've ever seen - Seriously! There are so many layers here!!
Rhett and Link are comedic geniuses. Some of you may disagree, but I believe the true mark of an entertainer is when you manage to make digging a hole funny.
This video has everything I love about these two: Picking a pointless, semi-childish activity and putting a lot of (probably too much lol) effort into it, gorgeous singing and, of course, humor. Very pleased that we get to see more of this kind of stuff outside of the show again ❤
This is the Rhett and Link doing what they wanna do with videos that I was excited to be after they talked about it on the podcast. I am so happy they are doing stuff like this, it’s gold!
This kinda takes me back to their old videos, like Finding Ms Locklear. And this is what I love about Joel Haver's work... Just pure creativity. I thought the ending of this one was weird and didn't care for it. I think a lot of Joel's stuff is weird. But who cares... I still get such joy and inspiration from seeing someone just be creative and not worry so much about pleasing others. Also, serendipitously, I'd planned a trip with my younger 2 sons out to the Monahans Sand dunes weeks before this came out. Then when my kids watched this, they got all excited about digging a hole out there lol. So we basically drove 5 hours to go dig a hole in the desert and we had a great time!

This feels like both a mockery of documentaries but also a beautiful, entertaining video at the same time 🤣 They make you feel like they are spitting truth the whole time!
Right! I just finish watching a mockery documentary this morning and now watching this, I couldn’t help to feel the similarity.
Only these two can make a 26 minute video about digging a hole and make it this entertaining.
I was thinking the same exact thing
it wasn't even that entertaining... still i had to watch the whole thing...
@@InWeCome it was though
You know what's crazy, is when the song properly kicked in I just got SO emotional lmao. Like my love for the old R+L content just came rushing back and I realized how much of my life has been spent watching these guys. Truly the goats of YT.
i 100% agree. i was so emotional when the song kicked in
Absolutely omg they were just chilling and singing and I was like- oh cute a little music from the boys!!! And then they went into full song and my heart grew three sizes lol i love it!!
@@jackbarger7070 Remember, if your heart grew too large you can't just fill it in to make a medium-sized heart...
Same here. If they don't release the song by itself at some point I'll be very sad. They can make any concept into a unique and beautiful song
same here brotha
it's INCREDIBLE how the premise of this video is just "go to the dessert, dig a hole" but, they managed to make it a 26 MINUTE LONG VIDEO, AND THEY MADE JUST DIGGING A FREAKING HOLE SO ENTERTAINING
these guys are magicians, mad respect
I loved how much water you squeezed out of the "digging a hole" rock, it was really cool, how you made a song, a mini sketch a 3d recreation, and a miniature set of the flipping hole, just to know what a "medium-sized" hole is
The comedic timing, the documental-like feel, and all the work you guys have put into this is INSANE
and you know what's also insane?
That I managed to make "this video is amazing" into a 7-line-long comment!
Man, I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear a song about digging a hole. That harmony is soothing 🥹
It's been too long since we had a Rhett and Link music video. Great job, folks. This is exceptionally done. A+
This needs to win an Emmy or something, some kind of award. This is one of the most remarkable things I've ever seen - Seriously! There are so many layers here!!
Like an onion!
Medium-Sized layers of course.
This channel will never die with such bangers being uploaded every 5 years.
😂😂
👌🏻⚡️
Rhett and Link are comedic geniuses. Some of you may disagree, but I believe the true mark of an entertainer is when you manage to make digging a hole funny.
This video has everything I love about these two: Picking a pointless, semi-childish activity and putting a lot of (probably too much lol) effort into it, gorgeous singing and, of course, humor. Very pleased that we get to see more of this kind of stuff outside of the show again ❤
Don't forget the increasing beauty of their cinematography
This is the Rhett and Link doing what they wanna do with videos that I was excited to be after they talked about it on the podcast. I am so happy they are doing stuff like this, it’s gold!
This whole video was so beautifully shot and produced! I hope the animation and graphics teams know their efforts are definitely appreciated!
Link: not allowed to touch knives
Also Link: just give him a backhoe its fine
I see my husband already commented a few days ago, we share an account. And I came back to say as I’m listing to this weeks Ear Biscuit that I hope you guys continue with this route. I understand GMM is your business model, and this is very obviously your art. I have been deeply invest in your guys content for the better part of the past 10 years, y’all being the only constants over that time next to Jenna marbles. And this digging a hole video is so pure. It’s hard to describe. It’s so purely Rhett and link. No one else on the face of the internet is bringing such depth and art to comedy. And as an artist, drawing the fine art of cinematography and music into a comedy sketch in this way is new and breathtaking. I simply love it and I so hope that you continue with this channel even if it doesn’t get the numbers. This is YOU. Across the board, Mythical as company is a company I’ll never feel ashamed to support. I’m so proud of the journey I’ve witnessed here and I’m so grateful that you have allowed us to be along for the ride. You guys are amazing and for a lot of us, the family we never had.
No one else is bringing as much DEPTH, you say? 😉
completely agree this is pure rhett and link
This is pure Rhett and Link indeed. It felt like what their videos and songs from 10+ years ago could've been if they were longer
This was incredible, I feel like Rhett and Links surrealist comedy is so overlooked
The fact Tom Segura called them youtube comedy gods says otherwise. 😊
@Promitheos that's awesome! I don't think I've seen the one where he mentions them! I must find it
The cloud of the mole they killed at the very end, that's just art right there
This feels so vintage and so fresh. I loved every second of it. Silliness, harmony, old-school Rhett and Link.
I hope this means Rhett and Link vlogs are back.
i hope so too omg
Can any Mythical Society subscribers let us know if they teased these being back? This feels like a combination of the vlogs and the music videos and sketches.
Don't get your hopes up 😂
No, it means that this was the video for this year.
same. i love these so much
Didn't realize how much I missed old school Rhett and Link... 🎉
Same
Oh, man... I'm glad they did this. Probably the most exciting Saturday morning I've had in a long while
You can feel it instantly, strange, random, fun vibe. It's been a long time.
3:30 THAT LOOK AT THE CAMERA OMFG this is quality entertainment
Wow! The colour grading and cinematography in this was fantastic. You guys should be so proud of this. This is absolutely phenomenal!!!
Rhett and Link just changed RUclips history with this masterpiece. I could binge watch this as a show
the production of it was so sleek and familiar I genuinely thought it was going to end announcing season 3 of buddy system
This…this is EXACTLY why Rhett and Link have been so consistent for all these years. Their creativity is seriously unmatched and I’m so thankful that I’m part of this community for the past 10 years ❤️
I am watching this at 6 in the morning and I loved it from beginning to end. I feel like I entered a different dimension and for that very moment everything else around me ceased to worry me, I focused on the journey to get THE medium-sized hole.
You guys are amazing.
The vibes of the video were EXACTLY RIGHT and I don’t know how else to describe it
Link can be deep at times:
4:23 "Are we making a pile or are we making a hole?"
9:43 "It's okay to fail by succeeding too hard"
But other times:
0:38 "Are you hungry for some hole?" ... 😆
I wish more people made videos of them doing really monotonous stuff with a ton of cinematic angles
I clicked on this video and assumed it was something they had done during the height of the pandemic. Boy, was I surprised.
The transition from the model 35G to the actual 35G is cinematic genius
My thoughts exactly
💯
This was far better than i thought it was going to be. I knew it was going to be funny but THIS...uh uh!?!! Talking animals, songs, etc...its superb. You fellas just don't know how to quit. And don't ever please! 🥰👍
I love that they fling the mole's corpse into the bigger hole after 😂
6:27, the random harmony is so balanced and just works. It's so frickin cool
Super impressive!
bo burnham's inside is now rhett and link's outside (digging a medium sized hole)
We really just watched two grown men dig a medium size hole for 26 minutes, and the fact it’s so cinematic with that really nice excavator transition 😭😂❤️
I love how you can really tell how two people are childhood friends. Childhood friends always know how to harmonize and make a song out of any experience
Proof that I'll watch anything Rhett and Link do and love it.
And singing about digging a hole !!! Which I loved 🥰
This is a new level of quality. It fits Mythical’s skill set perfectly.
I cannot express how happy I am every time Rhett and Link post on here. As much as I love GMM this channel has such special videos.
I'm pretty impressed that Link was allowed to operate the excavator.
I was surprised he even knew how to operate, glad someone noticed, it is only a trackhoe tho
He’s not allowed to use a knife on the show, but heavy machinery? Go for it! 😂
My thoughts exactly
Yes 😂😂
And the bigger excavator at that 🤣
Rhett: We can't trust Link with a kitchen knife.
Also Rhett:
And then he stood next to it while he was operating it🤯🤣
This was EXACTLY my thought process
The link can't use sharp objects is just a joke on gmm and not actually a real thing
@@superlegoman2003 The youtube kids in the comment section eat it right up though.
@@superlegoman2003 Give Link a Knife, hang out, and see what happens. A knife is not an excavator. I'd give him a lil' chore with a machine over a comedy bit with a sword.
This is Pure Rhett & Link. I loved every second of this medium-sized hole journey. 💜
WHO VOICED THE MOLE! That was honestly one of the most ridiculous, hilarious parts of this video. Whoever scripted and came up with that bit is genius & totally understands Mythical humour.
Tony Hale
Tony Hale! Longtime friend of the show and a terrific actor. If you haven’t seen arrested development you really should
@@charliem27 noooo shot!! That was Buster???
@@Meghann_Brady haha yep!
Tony Hale is so freakin awesome!!! I knew it immediately that it was him the first time watching the video
You guys managed to make a video using all the elements that made me a MB back in 2013: the singing, the humor, the nonsense and the friendship at the core. Great work RandL and crew! I can't wait to see what you think of next 💙
It's the dawn of a new day with Rhett and Link. They've entered their Hole Era.
So has the Hair Era officially ended?
It’s a Hole New Era.
“Re-entered.”
This is ART!
Film quality and scenes are awesome. The music is so catchy and great, it feels so natural, and funnily LOGIC!
LOVED IT. ❤
i'm so glad this 3-in-1 sketch/music video/vlog exists.
Honestly this is the best R&L content I've seen in a long time. I love GMM but it's just become a food show and I miss all the skits and old David Letterman style skits. This is what I'm looking for.
