@@lis9691 don't remember them advertising it. Maybe they did and I simply don't remember, but I didn't even know it existed until a few months ago when I randomly checked the Rhett and Link channel. Might be why there's so few views.
Finally got around to watching it just now.
@@Jennadanger10 In order to preserve the initial illusion that it was really happening, they advertised it as an all-night song-writing session on TikTok. So technically it was advertised, but not with any indication of what it really was.

Unreal! They planted the seed with that album on a GMM episode. The forethought and planning that went into this just shows these guys and their teams' limits know no bounds.

genuinely impressed that you were able to make something with a spooky element without it feeling like you weren't being yourselves. you kept your comedy and humor and just adapted it so they seemed more like how you would actually react and it's so well done
It was spooky AND still had a few moments of humor that made me break out laughing!
When Link is doing the tour Rhett has closed the door to the “portal” room on the way to Link’s office, but then Link has to close it again on the way back from his office. So many tiny things that you don’t notice until you rewatch! I love this!!

He really just kind of pulled it closed behind him as he was zipping out, so it probably just didn't close enough to latch.
This was surprisingly creepier than I was expecting. I love the use of the record as part of the story but when Rhett hits her with the stick 😂
So, at 10:00 Rhett said, "We don't have any knives". Surely, this was Link's part of the house, as he is not allowed to have knives.

They switched their normal rolls on the last harmonies. which gave it an even creepier feel imo. hearing link do that crackly low harmony, and rhett with the angelic high. nice

Haha The way Link scurried away after he slapped Rhett too hard, knowing Rhett would dish it right back. It was adorable to watch. I love the life long friendship between them. It's beautiful.

This is both one of the funniest and scariest things they’ve done, for example 14:09 - 14:50 the fork slowly raising is magnificent
Of course when Rhett is on his own, he manages to fight the evil spirit, enter a magic world and rescue Link, but the second that Link is on his own, he is game over immediately. Didn't expect anything else. 😂

the fact that link got the record in the animated video just adds a whole layer of atmosphere to this video, because it shows him acquiring the record instead of just having it
This is genuinely creepy, it’s nighttime and the way everything is genuinely creeps me out, I love it
My favorite part is knowing that Link is afraid of the dark and it slowly gets to him . He was probably secretly scared the whole time the outside filming happened.

as someone who is particularly susceptible to audio-based horror, this really hits me in the places. and I keep coming back anyway cos it's sO WELL DONE

One of my favorite things about this was that they created a horror movie experience in under 25 minutes. While watching I felt all of the phases and emotions of a typical horror movie, which just seems so impressive!! Keep in mind that we didn't know anything about Hazel or the story they created at the outset- this was so well-crafted and well done that we got an entire plot in just a portion of the runtime of a typical film. I'm so glad they decided to experiment like this! I hope they decide to do more in this style.
It works because we already know their backstories and have a connection with them so they can skip to the terrifying parts fairly quick.

I just realized something on my second watch. Hazel isn’t bad, she just wants out of the record. She just wants to live her life. “You can help me, just open the door.
I love the visuals of entering the woods through the door and seeing the door in the woods. I don't know why I thought it was so funny, but Rhett bopping her on the head with a stick when getting out of the woods made me laugh. I guess it's because she's supposed to be a supernatural being and she goes down like a regular person.
Make a full on horror movie under the Mythical Entertainment umbrella. This was honestly so well done, wow

I really want Rhett & Link to make a horror-themed anthology TV- or web-series. They're great at writing interesting horror (if you haven't read "The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek," do it) and I would love to see what kind of spooky stories they would come up with!!

What an absolute masterpiece!! Actually scary while humorous at the same time! Love the song and the artstyle of the cover! And the different versions of the song and cover when someone either enters or leaves! Sublime!

This is still probably one of my favorite Rhett and Link productions, just a great slow build horror that you can tell they put a lot of time and thought into. It's part of my regular spooky season rotation that I come back to every year now!

The absolute creativity notwithstanding, did anyone notice how amazing the vocals were when it was just Link and "Hazel" singing? Their voices just blended so well! (No offense to Rhett, his vocals are always amazing. It's just that I've never heard Link sing a duet with a female singer before!)

I normally don't like horror movies because of jump scares and intense music adding to the suspense. This was spooky without any of that! Very well written, and I came to the comments to ameliorate my fear before finishing😅

Seen it when it happened. Nothing I can say that hasn't been said before, but I tell you this...This just showcases just how creative you all really are. You guys are just over flowing with talent.

One thing that I noticed is how amazing Link would actually be at being a horror movie antagonist or or otherwise antagonistic character. His duality in being the jumpy, scaredy-cat Link we know, versus his acting as "Harlan Macon" is so amazing to watch. I've rewatched that part so many times because I didn't think it'd be something we'd see from Link acting wise. This whole project is amazing, and I hope you guys pursue more like this.
Didn’t notice this when I watched it on Tik Tok, but great detail when Link is giving the tour of the house he makes sure to shut the recording room door. When walks back out of his office it’s open again and he shuts it again.
And then if you listen closely right after that where Rhett is asking if he can slap him, you can hear the door open again.

This was really neat! I was legitimately spooked. I wasn't expecting something so complex. I was anticipating some little hocus pocus tricks and things falling off the walls, not anything on this level. The door in the woods was a very nice touch. Well done, everyone!

I love all subtle changes throughout the video that really captures that unsettling feeling. Link closing the door again that was already closed in the grand tour in the beginning, the girl disappearing from the album cover, even another name added when link is “captured” in the album (Harlan).

This was so extremely cool to watch. The perfect mixture of comedic and genuinely unsettling moments, the editing, the MUSIC. Man if you guys ever venture into this genre again I'm 100% here for it, you pull it off incredibly well. (Also love how the light catches Link's glasses at 18:17 classic found footage horror moment LOVE it)
Such wonderful writing here, the fact that they set out in the beginning to write a song and then by the end they do in fact succeed, also how Link says Rhett can slap him later and he does to get him to his senses!
I must admit the whole concept of a haunted record is FASCINATING!!

lmaoooo me too!. I was all into it headphones on max and all I heard was Rhett walking and crackling leafs then the fork popped up and I about choked from laughing so hard lol this was amazing. 17/10 highly recommend.
