    Asus TUF quality ctually seems improving enough, they have closer look to Lenovo Legion series now, while in early years TUF series are really cheap-made looking.
    But can you comment on thermal and cooling system of this new TUF laptop. I heard previous year versions the thermal are not good and they run really hot since they're budget laptop, but how's about this TUF f17 2023 ?

    • @granthinds

      I own a tuf f17 and it definitely gets pretty hot running more demanding games like starfield, halo infinite & mw3. Like high mid 90c cpu & high 80c gpu. Easier games like wow classic, wc3r, LoL run fine but still in the 70-80c area. So I bought an iets laptop cooling pad..which has drastically lowered my laptops Temps. I can get it running the more demanding games at around 60-70c and the easier games I run tge cooling pad on low and they run at around 55-65c. Have been using the pad for 4 months now and it's great. Bought the gt500 model and have owned my tuf f17 for closer to half a year now

    I bought an Asus TUF A15 (looks just like the notebook in this video with an AMD cpu instead) in August 2022 and in Feb 2023, the motherboard bricked itself when updating the BIOS. Asus refused to honor the warranty. I pressed MicroCenter to take care of it and it took until August 2023 before they were able to get a new motherboard. It's unclear if Asus finally honored the warranty or if MicroCenter just did me a solid. But yeah, that was my one and only dealing with Asus and never again.

    Is there any different between Tuf F15 and F17 other than screen size? Where I live you can find the F17 models at a lower price compared to the F15 ones (all specs are the same) which is a little weird. I mean the bigger one is supposed to be more expensive. Which one do you think I should go for?

    • @granthinds
      @granthinds  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yoh, that is a little weird. Make sure you double-check the specs at your specific retailer. I like the bigger size but honestly feel smaller one is more practical. But I often plug mine into an external monitor. It's up to you and your workflow I guess

      Yeah, the display of the F17 has terrible color quality. The F15 one has 75.35% Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB but the F17 has 47.34% Adobe RGB and 62.5% sRGB.
      Anyway, I ended up buying the F15 model with RTX4070 and core i7 12700h and it's fine.
