Real shit bro, rs.
Im just watching the vid to imagine having one😭🙏🙏💀
Create a RTX 3090 laptop price it at 200$ BOOM your whole business got destroyed
@@Sukuna_FemboyEnjoyer yeah 😂
Prime Day sale next week. Hoping to find something that’s 1400-1600 now for under 900. Or something that’s 900 now can probably be found under 700

I got a Zephyrus G14 2023 (Ryzen 9 7950hs, RTX 4060, 500gb SSD, 2k 165hz display and 16 Gb of DDR5 ram) for $1000 with a best buy deal a couple months ago. I have upgraded that SSD to a 2Tb ssd and I put in another 16 Gb stick. Love the portability!
Incredibly well timed video for me. Buying soon hopefully
I'm in your head, reading your thoughts. :)
I'm in the market as well, but I'm waiting a few weeks to see the laptops with the Strix Point APU at the end of the month.
Prime Day sale only 4 days away, 16th-17th
This makes me feel even better about the Legion 5i pro I got with the i7 13700hx, 1tb ssd, 32gb ddr5, 4060, 2560x1600 240hz for $1100!

STOP BUYING BAD LAPTOPS
Haha! I almost used that one! :)
@@PCBuilderChannel I was disappointed when it didn't happen
I actually waited for this for first 2-4 secs xD
All gaming laptops are bad
@@ziudra91 no
good timing. I'm in a verge of buying Laptop (only) vs PC (with Steam Deck) because of relocation... time to head back to drawing board...
Wish I did better research 2 months ago when I was shopping for my first gaming laptop. I almost went too cheap by getting a laptop with a 12th gen i5 and a 4GB RTX 2050, but got lucky because the laptop sold out before I could make the purchase. I ended up getting a MSI Cyborg 15 with an i7-12650H and 8GB RTX 4060, runs decently on the games I play but the fans are a little louder than I would like. Ran for 850$ from a best buy sale, but shipped with only 8GB RAM and 500GB SSD, so I just spent 150$ to add in a 32GB kit and 1TB SSD. Hopefully the build holds up for the next few years till I'm out of college and building my first desktop!
its not a great laptop at all, but for 850$ price range its actually a decent deal, just 4050 and 4060 are totally not worth the price and its better to buy 3070 last get laptop for that money range and hit +30-40% more performance and fps
If I have a Asus rig strix gtx 1050 ti how good are the low budget ones with that one
Just got myself a new 7945hx3d rtx 4080 just recently. Best part, i actually just ordered a 7945hx rtx 4080. Free 3d bonus it seems, even so i don´t think the difference in general is that relevant.
My old hp pavillion ryzen 7 5800h + rtx 3050 is still far from useless and performs quite well.
I bought a laptop at the Houston Micro Center (y'all should definitely check out the deals there if you're near one). Just wanted something with a good enough dedicated GPU because I didn't plan in gaming much on it (mostly using it for minor IT school work). Got a Lenovo LOQ with an i5 12450h cpu, an rtx 3050 6gb gpu and 16gbs of ddr5 for $550. If I game on it its mostly gonna be competitive shooters like cs2. But very informative gaming laptop video 🗿👍🏼.
Solid breakdown, but I think you treated this a bit too much like a typical desktop GPU review and should have a highlighted a few critical points unique to laptops.
-laptop screens (especially sub 16") are so small that resolutions above 1080p have limited usefulness
-batteries for dedicated GPU laptops will be effectively useless after a year or two of use
-dedicated GPU laptops get VERY hot while playing demanding content
Put these things together and you quickly realize there are 3 gaming laptop use cases.
1) an iGPU capable of medium setting 1080p games that can actually be used on battery for multiple hours
2) a dedicated GPU that can fully max 1080p gaming, which looks great on a small screen, but needs to be plugged in
3) a dedicated GPU that can game at 1440p or 4K, and should really be connected to a large external display
I wish laptops for #3 were actually called a different name like "portable desktop" because having a 10lb lava box on your lap does not make sense. Personally I'm most excited for the recent advancements in #1 because I want to be able to actually use my laptop when not near a power source.
great recommendations as always!!!!!!
So glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Nicely done! Helps me narrow down a laptop for me. Looking to replace an Asus G series of some kind from 2015 with a gtx 1070.
Glad to help!
Get a cheap $400 laptop with strong AMD APU and then build a proper desktop
I'm a pc nerd, and know that desktops are better overall, but shopping for my sister lol
Great vid btw! Very well done!
Glad I could help!
@PCBuilderChannel would like to see a build video of you building a gaming PC that compares to latest gaming laptops specs that's a lot cheaper! and to give us reasons as to why a gaming PC is better in the long run for those of us debating on whether to buy a gaming PC or gaming laptop. thanks for all the great videos also looking forward to your next budget build video showing us what to build at different prices!
No need to wonder, desktop builds are always going to be stronger than a laptop due to heat and power . That's just a hard and fast rule. Laptops are valuable if you need portability. Otherwise you are always better off with a desktop pc. But the good news is its a great time to build a pc and its about to be even greater during Prime Day sales next week! Say tuned on the channel we will have lots of great sample build lists coming your way (;
Totally agree with Jason's recommendations but for those of you on the ultra budget level check out Acer Aspire 3 models. Can be found with 1080p, IPS and AMD APUs for $300-$500. Gaming performance isn't gonna blow you away but it's something.
Dude u broke it down and made the GPU info very easy to understand! I been a console gamer my whole life simply because console is plug and play and i can lay down while playing...but i been wanting to get into cpu games but its been so confusing on on all the parts and the name of the parts be sounding crazy like " Zx 420 f12 Alpha" like wtf 😮
Then i gotta worry about upgrading drivers or loweing settings and so on if a game isnt running right 😂....
Thanks this video REALLY helped me out 😎👍
I just recently won a bid on an Alienware m18 with a ryzen 9 7845hx and 4080 with a 1080p 480hz screen refurbished for 1800 but had to pay taxes so a bit more around 1900 but hey it was under $2K.😅 im gonna upgrade the storage and on idle without a third-party cooler it doesn't run super hot so im happy 😊
Thoughts on the Zephyrus g16, 4070 and 32gb ram?
Damm this was well timed im getting a laptop for university and i found a rtx 4050 with i5 12450h that i found for 670£ which i think will be nice for my budget
Love it when the timing is good!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Me watching this, comparing my laptops specs, the one I had minimum requirements for uni. I think i7 13th gen, a 4060, 1tb storage, 32 gb of ram are overkill for minimum requirements, but like, sure. Now I got a beast laptop and pc
Is this the gigabyte G5 KF5-H3US365KH?
picked up an acer nitro for $300 off fb marketplace. 3050ti, i5 12450h (or something). It plays cyberpunk & helldivers 1080p low-med at around 60fps. super cool to take on planes
Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Hey guys or the man himself what’s better? Dell g15 4060 or Acer nitro i7 4060? Thanks
What about the Lenovo LOQ series?
Specifically the 2024 model?
if you're one of the lucky people who don't get an issue with buttons/startups then go for it lol. I had two friends get one and they had to send it back 2 times before it worked properly
I was gonna get the 2024 Lenovo with the 4070 for 2k until I saw an open box excellent condition 2024 ASUS G14 4060 for $918. Aside from the ram being soldered it’s a fantastic deal for my current needs, I’m planning on passing it on to my niece once the new cpus and gpus are out that way I’ll get what I want.
What do you think abou Notebook Acer Gaming Predator Helios Neo 16
Good laptop series! We recommend them often when we see good prices
Imo, if youre getting something to play games on, build a pc. A laptop is for smaller things, or if you need portability.
I've gotmyself a Legion Pro 5i with 13700HX and RTX 4060, it had a 240 Hz with HDR400, and the content consumption with HDR on is really good in this panel
Jason the sweet spot in gaming laptops are Alder 12th, Rembrandt Ryzen 6000 and Cezanne Rysen 5000 that are mostly Ampere. Yes they are also mostly used BUT that is what the channel has really priced down and has too because they have to sell these used secondary and some overage models off before they can move to truly discount Phoenix Ryzen 7000 and Rembrandt Refresh Ryzen 7000. mb
And Raptor H too, all the best sub $1000 deals r used. Secondary has to go first and the channel is very engaged getting rid of the last gen laptops. m
You saved my money man thank you 🤝🏻
Glad I could help!
Later this year, I'm going to buy my first big purchase, a Storm 480 (4080) from Avell, a Brazilian maker. It's going to be quite a strain on my salary for 2 years (less if I can snag the two promotions my job offers in that time-frame), but it will be soooo worth it!
Hey Jason, I have a really really serious question over here in Germany
I need to know if it makes sense to upgrade my PC from an I5 10400F with 1 ram stick of ddr4 (very slow speed) to a new ddr5 mainboard with an Ryzen 7600 and 32 gigs of ddr5 ram (6000)
while keeping my 1660 super for another 5 months in this build until i will buy a new gpu???
That would be an imbalance but if you do plan on upgrading the GPU in 5 months then it's fine.
@@kelley09162 alright thank you very much mate, exactly thats what i asked, thanks
I'd agree with Ty. You will experience a big GPU bottleneck but if you replace the GPU soon that's fine. Maybe consider going 7500F if its available where you are to get you GPU faster?
I bought the alienware m16 r2 with the 4070 and in arc 7
Can you do prebuild PCs again (updated version ofc)???!!!!!
Yes! We can do that. Stay tuned. Though remember we do keep the links updated in the current video in the meantime
this channel incredible, very specific and detail, not like the other just promotion brand 🤣
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you for watching
Can I use this gaming laptops for work too? Like for blender, after effects, Photoshop, etc
Absolutely! Go for the strongest GPU that fits your budget.
I would appreciate any advice. I bought a pre built pc and is now looking att upgrading it, the specs are a AMD 5500 and Radeon 6600 with 16 Gb or Ram and a A520M-Pro (or something like that) motherboard, any suggestions on how to upgrade and what to upgrade first? Btw love the videos keep up the incredible work
Depends on what your budget is for upgrades.
Anything better than that build will bottleneck the CPU.
Just buy a completely new PC when you have the money but make sure it's a leap in performance.
You should check out our How to Upgrade your PC 2024 video, we go over upgrading prebuilts there
After having desktops during my growing up years, my past three computers have been laptops. But I'm ready to make my next PC a desktop again.
Exciting!
@@PCBuilderChannel Yup and I will definitely watch your videos for tips on how to build a desktop!
Wow seeing these prices, it makes me feel even better that I bought my laptop on Newegg sale! Acer Nitro 16 with Ryzen 7840HS, 16GB 5600mhz ram, RTX 4070, 1TB SSD, WQHD 165hz screen for 1099$
Is HDR an important feature? If so, should I get HDR10, HDR10+ or HDR400?
If you're playing games that support HDR or AutoHDR, yes, it can make a very big difference.
HDR10 and HDR10+ are display standards (think NTSC), they describe how the data being sent to the display should be formatted so all displays are on the same page with how to communicate with GPUs. HDR400 is a VESA standard that describes the qualities of a monitor's panel. It's the lowest possible HDR grade and provides functionally no real HDR.
You shouldn't rely on VESA standards because they are (intentionally) easy to cheat, instead look for high zone count mini LED displays or OLEDs. Rely on independent reviews rather than stickers on the box
I got a Lenovo LOQ with rtx 4050 for $650 and honestly that was the best purchase I’ve ever made in my life

Was able to snag a Legion Slim 5i 4060 / 7640HS laptop for $600 on a crazy Best Buy open box deal
Still meh but okay I guess at $600 it’s not bad.
Just know the 4060 isn’t a real 4060
@@AnonymousUser-ww6nsyeah it performs alright, but it was 600 with tax included. Was around 540 pre tax. Didn’t even need a laptop but for for the price, I had to pick it up.

NEVER BUYing A ALIENWARE laptop again. why do they KEEP putting the charging port in the exhaust areas. overheats the GPU and then after a year or two it just dies. "buy a cooling fan" why when they can fix this and stop forcing us to upgrade/fix our laptops
asus f series usually goes on crazy sale on bestbuy with 4070- 1000usd 4060-800usd, and amd gpu drivers and pain in laptop. Around this time its better to wait new gen laptops with new processor and gpus
I like the TUF models, but right now they aren't as price competitive with the Acer Nitro models (both are budget). But if I see a TUF model deal I will certainly put it in the video description.
My friend came to me to ask for recommendations on a laptop for computer science. Any recs?
They will want to check the required specs of the apps they use as a baseline, but the strong gaming laptops tend to do well for this
@@PCBuilderChannel The Acer Predator Helios for $1600 CAD looks like a good bet for her. Too bad about the 16GB of RAM.
@PindleofKujata Unless they have changed, those are pretty upgradeable. I have one that is a couple of years old with a 3060 and I upgraded the RAM to 32gb. It also has 2 NVME slots as well as a sata port and place for a 2.5" drive. The only downside for me is the color accuracy is pretty bad for photography work so I have an external ProArt screen I use for that, but otherwise pretty good, albeit short battery life.

Just in time I was looking to buy a gaming laptop

I don’t need a new laptop right now as mine is only three years old. Though for a show on gaming laptops we need a pic of Mr. Bear being a keyboard kitty for the warmth. My kitty certainly likes to do that. 🐈⬛😻
Keyboard kittys are the best!
What about MSI Creator Pro X17?
What's the price of it and what are you using it for.
Can you also go into the world of mini pcs?
Probably not to be honest, its a little outside my range but there are other channels that do a great job with them!
I think building a Gaming PC setup and buying a budget laptop will be more affordable and better than buying a Gaming laptop above 2000$.
Agreed I will buy a 1k laptop and invest $1500 on a custom desktop
Finna spend 3,000 plus on the 2023 Asus Scar is a mobile compared to base 4090 much of a difference…should I go desktop??
@dragonise13 If the budget is 3000$, my preference would be to build a 1440p PC setup with around 1800$ and get a sleek 14-inch laptop for around 1200$. It's my preference because ultrabooks like zenbook 14 tend to have a way better battery life and have the power for most of the apps I would need on the go. If you need more portable power, you can go with the one you mentioned, but you should see what all the choices you can make for your budget and your convenience.

why does nobody seem to talk about things like the HP victus? are they just that bad?

So far from what I've seen, it's mostly thin and lights without a dedicated GPU for the AI HX 300 series, so the "gaming performance" is very low 1080p or 720p gaming which I don't consider a "gaming laptop". I have seen a handful of models listed for release at the end of the month with dedicated GPUs and they are super expensive and definitely not worth it. If the market changes I'll include listings in the description!
Dang some of them dont even have numpads

what would a 4090 laptop be in desktop
Around an RTX 4070 Ti 12GB desktop GPU performance.

Perhaps someday, its just not a subject I am as well versed in. But there are other channels that do it very well!
can you suggest a 100 CAD (750 USD) PC Build Please
Here's a build for you. It's a little over budget but hopefully that's okay. This build assumes you're using it for Gaming. Just note you don't need a 750W PSU here but it's currently the same price as a 650W so might as well get it so you have room for future upgrades.

I think the price to performance right now is quite good. Rumor is that RTX 50 mobile series is not going to be much of an improvement, and it is likely a year away from the first RTX 50 series laptops hitting retail.
@@PCBuilderChannel Yeah I agree but lunar lake and Ryzen ai something is rumoured to come out in the next 3 months and this month.
???) what does that have to do with PC parts... yes they'll come but good luck finding a laptop with that chip set@@DZH.
@@HHRain Newer chipset means the current chipset is now previous gen, this it'll be cheaper and go on sale more often, this is desirable if you are trying to get the best performance for your buck. However if you just want the best performance obviously you should wait until new gen cpu's release. They'll be much more efficient than current gen, that's a guarantee.
Yeah everything is gimped and they know it.
Stick with sub $500 laptop to avoid disappointment.
