Would like to drop a tip. Cut out 1 corner pot with scissors to allow monitoring of water in bottom tray as well as watering seed without removing entire tray.

Thank you for sharing this information, i did not know that about petunias. Nevver have bought petunia seed, but ive saved seeds from mt plant's and planted some of them in with my petunias i bought. Now i know why they never done any good. I buried them in the ground. Im going to buy myself some petunia seeds this year❤

Any plans for Part 2? My seeds have all germinated (and grown steadily for several weeks) but I’m wondering when to transplant them to the hanging baskets.

Could you comment on the height of the grow light over your trays please. I've been growing veggies from seeds indoors many years but I start with my lights practically on top of my trays. I raise them as the plants grow. Supposedly to keep my plants from getting leggy. But maybe that's a myth and unnecessary?
Seedlings get leggy if they aren't getting enough light. If you use florescent tube lights, then they need to be quite close and you raise the lights up as the plants grow. I have heard you don't need to do that if you use LED grow lights.
Not a myth, keep doing that, esp when using a heat mat 😊
New Gardner here. Thank you so much for all of the info. I’ve watched several videos of how to start petunias from seed, but no one talks about watering them after they have been planted. I have made up my petunia seed tray, planted the seeds, and I got them nice and damp spraying them w/a water spray bottle. I covered them and put in front of my window ledge so they can get light. I did all of that yesterday. My question is, what is the watering schedule from here on out? Am I supposed to continue watering them every day? Or do I not water them until they have sprouted/germinated? Anything specific or just water them like normal?
