Hi Joanne, Petunias and Coleus are what I grow mostly. I like Pansy's but they don't like a lot of sunlight. I tried Dwarf Petunias this year and some still haven't bloomed. I planted them first week of Jan. don't know if I am doing something wrong or if this is how they grow. ?
$8? You're probably doing that out of the kindness of your heart and if so, that's really cool but around here, nursery's charge $30-$120 a basket if they're big and full. The bigger they are, the more expensive they are.
WOW! I love petunias this is my first year growing from seed also have a few seedlings I purchased from big box store. I few have lots of leaves that are yellow or light green. Also some was just limp ( from nursery, and seedlings) I put one in pot with more peat moss its doing better now, I did notice the soil was too heavy. But have you got any idea why a few have very light green leaves the petunia color is the deepest purple and velvet looking, Id hate to loss them. Anyone who has a suggestion for why the leaves are limp ( seedling ) and what to do. I wonder if the potting soil was the problem. I transplanted some into potting soil with added fertilizer already added, it was a light soil, help (pretty please) is needed I don't want to make it worse and kill it with kindness :(
Hi J Berry, I always start by putting all plants in the greenhouse . They really like that. and then I will put them outside on tables after a few weeks.

Seems like alot of petunias for one 10" basket. Yikes good luck.
Do you plant the same way fortrailing
Yes I do , maybe a few more for trailings.
Do you use growing lights on them?
Hi Norma, Yes we use standard 4Ft. Shop lights with regular bulbs . Works fine for us.
