It took me many tries to perfect my square. I love when i didnt give up. I made my first granny square without any fkowers and stuff. Thank you
This is so amazing❤. Our Senior Center has a crochet group that make things for our Preemie section of our hospital. This is perfect for a 12 inch square Preemie blanket. We also donate to our Veterans home/hospital, our Mens Shelter, all much more. This would also make an outstanding wheel chair blanket. Thank you so much for this. I’m starting to under stand your stitch difference and don’t have to think about our double to your treble. So very nice!
Thank you so much for that lovely comment Linda!
I’m so glad you think this stitch would make ideal preemie blankets! What a wonderful thing you do! ❤️🌸
You have the most beautiful granny square blankets. I think I will have to try them all. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Alison! 🌸
Great pattern, I used variegated yarn and it looks amazing, Thanks♥
Sounds wonderful Deborah! 🌸
Matter a fact it would look amazing using a solid color with your variegated & let the solid color be the granny stitch. Just a suggestion & I think I'm going to try that next after this one...
This is a different granny square one to add to my list to do thankyou x
I feel sorry for your list - I bet it’s always growing! I know mine is 🌸
@@BlossomCrochet very long list just finished a blanket in chenille for my eldest Grandaughter, on with one for youngest Grandaughter, lots of dog & cat blankets for local rescues not to mention hats & scarfs for vulnerable people and lastly a jumper for me but that's well down the list 😀
It’s so lovely to hear that you’re making things for animals and the vulnerable too, what a wonderful thing to do! I bet your grandchildren are so happy with theirs. ❤️ I do hope you get around to your sweater very soon!
@@BlossomCrochet I've been crocheting dog & cat blankets for 5 local animal rescues in my area of Barnsley South Yorkshire for the last 9 years I love to make them too the dog ones are for dogs in kennels but the cat ones mostly go with the kittens when they get rehomed it's something familiar for them it will have smells of their mother & siblings I've made 127 this year so far & 14 blankets for a local food bank to give to vulnerable people x
Love your videos but must learn to finish one project before starting another lol maybe tomorrow as starting this today ha ha xx
Ha! That’s always the problem, never ending lists! 😂🌸
Good. Job
Thank you ☺️
Your tutorials are super. As for this square, can it be made into a rectangle?
Thank you very much for your video. I'm really looking forward to starting this project. I am, however, very much a beginner and have 2 Q's, if you don't mind. 1. why do you turn your work at the end of each round? and 2. Why do all rounds start with 3 chain stitches which function as a treble, rather than an actual treble?
Hi Cathie! Of course it’s ok to ask!
I turn my work at the end of each round when making granny squares because it stops any twisting/distorting of the square (some people have trouble with that and turning each round fixes it and keeps it perfectly square) ☺️
I start each round with a chain 2 because I find doing a chain 3 is a bit ‘gappy’ and also, unless you’ve changed colours and are starting with a new yarn, it’s tricky to do a ‘normal’ treble with the same working yarn 🌸 If I change colour, I tend to do a Standing Treble instead of a chain.
Hope that all makes sense! 🥰

🌸❤️
I tried the your other tutorial for the spiked granny square where every row used the spike stitch , the blanket never laid flat it was so frustrating and a lot of people in the comments had same issue , I hoping this version is better and DOES lay flat .
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
💜
Such a beautiful stitch and I like the density. One question, you turn your work on every row right?
Yes that’s correct ☺️ So glad you like the stitch too! 🌸
Love this stitch, but as the piece gets larger, the corners are flaring out for me. Any tips on preventing this? Thank you
I want to make a large granny square with spikes big enough to be 30x 30. Is this possible.?
Could you please suggest What I could use as a border for this blanket
I'm learning to crochet, and getting much of my information from your channel. At the moment, my yarn is the cheapest of cheap that I could find in home bargains. Following your link to this yarn, I see that its 80% cotton, where I've got 100% acrylic. I'm struggling with what I've got, and was fairly certain I'm just applying too much tension, but I'm now wondering if the higher cotton content helps? Does it?
It should work fine with any kind of yarn, I’ve used this pattern with both cotton and acrylic… it may well be a tension thing. What’s the issue you’re having? ☺️🌸
@@BlossomCrochet Mostly, it's getting the hook back through once I've done the yarn-over. Basically, the "holes" are too tight and my yarn splits into it's plys
Is the blanket same on both sides
It is yes 🌸
I do my granny squares a little bit differently, I don’t start and finish in the corners so would this design still work..?
Yes it will still work 🌸☺️
What size is this square?
Can you advise the hook size you used please?
I used a 4mm for this particular project but you can use whatever hook size your chosen yarn recommends 🌸
Thank you can’t wait to try this for a blanket for my daughter
Is there a written pattern pls?
Just the video tutorial Sam, sorry! 🌸
This is Peggy I have been doing crocheting for years That is not a treble crochet that is a double crochet A treble crochet is a triple crochet
Hi Peggy! I use U.K. terminology so a U.K. treble is a double in U.S. terms 🌸🧶
She says in the beginning of the tutorial that she is using UK terms ...
