Here are a few tips that we picked up along our Presa Canario journey. With consistency and repetition even the most basic drills and commands can help you build a bond (mutual respect) between dog and owner. Животные
There’s no amount of training that will replace a genuine relationship! Keep up the work with your buddy!
Well done brother. Lead with firm love. Love conquers all
We couldn't agree more! Thank you!
Commander is such a regal looking dog and you are doing absolutely fantastic with him! He seems like a most proper canine citizen!
Watching your daughter walk Commander brings back so many memories for me. My foster daughter was 18 months when I got my Cane Corso as a puppy. By age 6 she was was controlling that dog like a master. Sadly the Cane is gone. I have a female Pressa now. The girls are back with their biological mother now. FYI, we were an inter-racial family as well.
Thanks for sharing! Somehow I missed this message. How are things going with your Presa? Thanks for watching!
I know that I'm late on this video but you were doing a great job when you made this video. I currently have two presa's. My female is older and I have her nephew who is ten months and weighs 115lbs. You were correct in how you handled him and you were very calm and patient. This breed is alpha dominant and they will make decisions if they're not controlled. They are natural protection dogs who will protect their family by all means necessary. This is why the owners need to be the alpha and they should be trained in dealing with the breed before they get one. You have to train them daily for life because they are opportunistic and will always try to move up in pack status. Can't wait for the next updates and you and your pack
Wonderful! Stable and well informed owners, harmonious family, consistent work, structure, sensible approach, doing fun stuff together.. You're doing great! 👍☺️❤️
Big thanks!!
Fundamental fundamental stuff is the most important stuff. Love you content. not everybody is a pro Presa Canario owner plus we can learn with you
I love y’all. Y’all make my day every time I watch y’all vids
I loved the positive energy from you and your family. I appreciate the openness regarding your expertise, giving people insight as to your personal experience with your Presa Canario. I'm about to get my first Presa Canario, who is still a puppy about 3 months old ( coincidentally looks like a young Commander) and I found your video helpful& insightful. Thank you and your wonderful family.
Love the video. Crossover between training and socialiisation is very interersting.
Love this!! Presa owner myself. Love the work you and your family is doing!
Thank you!! Thanks for watching!
i like ur honesty about being new to the breed..
I trained my dog with a prong collar. Used properly it works wonders. Just a tip. Don’t repeat commands like stay, and then repeat stay. Expect him to do it, if not correct. Just a tip. What you say is law.
This is awesome 💯
Wow!! He did great with the kids!!! Love the vids!
Thanks for watching! He is getting better at taking commands from them, but just like with any training it's going to take daily practice!
Great video! Thanks for the information.👍🏾
Hi Tony! I hope this was help full!! Thanks for watching!!
Presas are the best! So eager to learn and please their owner. I have a female Presa, she will be 3 y/o next month on 7/9.
I got one too and I'm trying to work with it now and boy they are strong and I'm Authority building dogs and we go out every day I take a nap you know with my girl she don't walk until she got to walk you need to come out with me more you don't bother you respects her but I thought you got to walk in case I'm not here one day you got to take a walker you know they very smart dogs man
One thing I never got is when people tell a dog to sit then tell it to stay.
When I tell my presa to sit, I expect him to sit until I break him from the sit.
You can also teach him heel as a position sitting next to you and when you move,
he's actually trying to get back into that position.
I also got a think 6-foot leash and it's a lot better on the hands and easier to grip,
just had to stop him from chewing on it.
Love your video just want to help another presa owner.
Keep up the good work, and obedience training.
Y'all doing great keep up the good work
Thanks Jason! We appreciate the support!!
Super amazing video!! Can't wait for more!
Thank you so much!! That means a lot coming from someone who trains! Confirmation that we are at least on the right path. Thanks for watching and yes there is more to come!
@@presadentialcommander3649 Oh wow, that means the world coming from you!! I really love it when people actually take the time to train dogs and don't just assume that they are born knowing how to behave. Thank you, keep it up!
Really nice video
Great video guys, very helpful. I will definitely try those training drills. He’s gotten so big, very nice dog. Killer posture, definitely a showstopper 👍. Mine is 5 months now and she’s super hyper all the time. We keep her in the back yard and it’s big enough for her to run and for the kids to play with her. But she’s still very hyper, she actually tackles down my boys 😂. We usually take her hiking and she loves it, but she’s always pulling with excitement. So I’ll have to try your training drills. Thanks again. God bless.
Hi J! Glad the drills may be of some help to you! Definitely appreciate the support! Commander has his super hyper moments too. And they love to tackle. Wrapping that paw around legs lol!! Canarian "Catch" dog foreal foreal!!
@@presadentialcommander3649 Yess!!! Lol they do wrap their paws around you and tackle u down. She does that to my boys all the time, I even wondered if it was normal for a dog to do that and if she was the only one. Lmao.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaasssssss 5:20 is key very key....... my presa is pretty much off leash at the moment but I keep my pooch on my hip if he roams ahead a bit but doesn’t pull I don’t freak out like some folk
Thanks for your support! Yes, we have had different opinions about it but after consulting a trainer, we are more comfortable in allowing him to walk ahead of us as long as he is following commands! Thanks for watching!!
Presa's don't like to be far from their person. I could walk my presa with my leash draped over my finger and my dog would not pull it off.
He looks so much like my Presa Canario, I am currently in walking training. I inherited the dog and he was never trained to walk "Properly". That is his only problem so far, He already listens to my commands and that was on my first day of ownership. He is a VERY VERY Good boy and a Absolute Threat to any intruder and your best friend if you show no aggression.
I ordered a hands free walker for walking two dogs, This will allow me to easily hip train him and once he masters that I will let him Free walk. I will carry a bag of treats for a reward system and train him more commands on ours walks. I have a Great Dane that is already trained with commands.
As you know, walking a Presa Canario that is not trained to walk properly is a nightmare. They are far far too strong to go untrained.
You can do different types of games with him to build engagement with him while outside that will help with his healing as well
I agree w/everything you said. Itz a big responsibility I can tell you already w/a 1yr old. We have 3 Lg dogs all together.
Nice dog I love it 👍🏽
Thanks Alber!! We appreciate you watching!
Nice! He’s a big boy, his neck is huge.
Theron the camera doesn't do him justice. This dudes neck is unreal lol! Thanks again for the support my friend!

Letting the children walk the Canario is wild. We have a pure bred.he prefers to walk by our side
Good dog
thanks ive been trying to teach my dog how to race and he won't move a step
Would you recommend a heavy duty chain as a leash for my german sheperd. He already has 2 chain collars and I want only chains for my dog
You guys need to do a video on him running so people know how fast they can run !!!
Ashlee he chased a rabbit and we finally got to see his top speed. He was OUT!!! I have to find a place to let him get lose like that!
@@presadentialcommander3649 ok
How many times a day do you excercise him and do the commands? How old is he in this video?
Keep it going!!! 10 minutes a day! Walking is probably the most difficult thing for my 7 month old haha
What's up B Hill!! Thanks for the support! Yes they can be super stubborn on the leash!
I follow you on Instagram, my puppy is Quadropresa. I def followed the instructions you guys put up today with walking! Worked great
@@bhill1736 Awesome! Keep it up daily and watch him transform!!
I love commander! He’s just like our OEB haha your family is beautiful too guys, big love from south east England 🏴 ❤️✌🏼
Are presa's lap dogs????
I have a question I’ve got a presser that is silver brindle is that real rare
WE LOVE SILVER BRINDLE PRESAS!!! They are so beautiful. Not sure how rare it is but it is certainly beautiful! Congrats!
Aren’t harnesses better than leashes that pull from the neck? Doesn’t that disrupt their breathing and trachea? Thank you for the information, I’m here learning as well. 🙏
Great question! It can if the placement is wrong. The idea behind this collar is is not so much to constrict (like a slip collar) this one is more for the prong mechanism to give a surface level "pinch" emulating the bit correction from a pack leader. The harness is great safety back up. I was advised we could clip them together should there ever be a fail with his prong collar. Commander likes the vest because he can pull us like an ox does a plow lol.
@@presadentialcommander3649 awesome, thank you so much for your reply, that makes sense, and I like that harness with that handle you guys have for him, he looks badass.
Hii, I have a three months pressa puppy.she’s starting to growl while playing games like thug
Hi!! My presa canario is almost 6 months old already but he has severe anxiety separation. What can we do?? He could keep barking for hours and were scared the neighbors may find it too anoying.
Pd: love your videos!! You make it look so easy but we’re working on it 😃
I would advice going out for 10 minutes then once you cracked 10 minutes Try 30 minutes and then 1 hour u have to build it up over time it will take time but u will get there mate
Hey love the vids, May I ask when did commander stop bitting since my presa bits hes like 9 weeks When will he stop do you know?
Arjun it feels like they never stop 😆!! Commander still has his bitey moments. It is very annoying! You just have to remain patient and give them a toy to bite on. It's a process for sure. You don't have to smack them or anything. They were bred to bite.. so its okay... they just have to bite the right thing. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
True. My pressa is 9 weeks too and he’s nipping a lot. I have been avoiding him a lot when he does and it’s getting better.
@@presadentialcommander3649 Well commander is a good boy well trained, But my pressa trys bitting the face, Hopefully He will stop tryna go for the face but in all they are cute dogs
@@theootis2569 Ok
@@presadentialcommander3649 And also is it ok for them to have a thug of war toy
How old is commander
Do nows food to train it when it was a puppy
Yes but Commander was not very food motivated for some reason. Eventually we found that he loved ham (lunch meat). Thanks for watching!!
ill have to find you guys on instagram! PRESAdential commander i see what u did with the name there lol - maybe in a future vid you can tell us how you decided on his name and maybe some 2nd or 3rd place names you didnt use
love that dog but i know i cant have one
Thats what i need to do is teach my puos to stay ha ha 5 months both high drive but difrent temp
I walk my bully like that too bro. She knows who the alpha is.
Good stuff Donny!! 🙌🏾 Thanks for watching!
No. Never ever put his or your hand in the loop! A sudden dash will put you down!
Top tip chokers are better than prong collars 😒, Jus sayin not tellin yall what to do but chokers, not much can go wrong but prongs technically have some form of errors that can happen that are negative towards the dog.
I listen to my dogs.
mine likes a prong.
I've had it on my own neck and yanked harder than I'd ever yank a dog. it was fine.
a choker literally chokes.
plus prongs don't touch the trachea, a choker does and squeezes it
Waste of time don’t watch my 4 month old puppy doing all of this 🤣 I’m not a professional trainer either
Great family 'but!! shame on the dogs' ears for being cut off 'God made the ear flaps for a reason 'because it prevents dust and sand entering the ear drums. Also, why owners have the ears butchered is simply for fighting. Please stop doing this cutting off ear rituals because it really damages the dog in the long run. Stop using them has trophies to show off 'because nothing justifies cutting ears off unless you using them for fighting.
You talk too much, get to the point
Genuinely appreciate the info and honesty 💪🏾 just got my 3 month old and been learning from your videos! You guys got an Instagram?
Yes we have an instagram!! Sorry for the delayed response. @Presadential_Commander.
Thanks for watching!!
