    I have a 14 week old Presa. These videos make understanding the breed so much more relatable. Everything online is bite work, training and them growling at fences. Your family showed the breed from a different perspective. I’ve also loved watching Commander grow up! Wish we got more content! Thank you so much!

      Erik you have no idea how that confirmation makes us feel. We saw that there was nothing really like this out there for those of us who considered making a Presa our family dog. It's an honor that our experience has helped in so many people's Presa journey. Thanks for supporting the channel. More content is on the way!!

    I used to help my cousin at his kennel with his saint bernards and boxers. But my first owned dog is a presa canario too. Im not saying that the first time owners cannot handle the breed, but you have to be a leader for sure. This is a smart and a loyal breed. I love commander. He is one of the best looking and behaving presa.

    Im English and i lost my dog last year after many urs of happiness wild stealth camping and hiking etc, i live on my own and my dog was my bestie, i was gutted tbh when he passes away and felt so lost and alone and then early this year my brother turned up with a puppy Presa Canario for me!
    Harry is my first Presa but ive had large breed dogs my whole 54yrs of life and i wish i knew about this breed earlier. Harry is now 7months old and he's over 40k and stands 28inches at the shoulder already, he's HUGE and a fine specimen for the breed.
    He's a big goofy and loving dog, the most affectionate sog ive ever owned tbf, he is a great guard watch dog to, loves children but he is definatly wary of strange adults and will stand off sussing them out.
    He makes my life full and pushes me to go for walks and hikes but he's equally happy chillin on the couch watching Lassie movies with some treats....

    Really nice to see a Presa Canario video without biting someone's arm or leg. I picked mine up 5 weeks ago, he is now 13 weeks. He is also growing up in the family, in the house, with another dog and so on. We are in a dog school and have now started doing basic obedience. Let's see what challenges come our way, definitely a great breed. I wish all Presa owners a lot of fun and stamina to accompany a great dog growing up.

    I didn’t choose her, but I want to be the best leader that I can be for her. She’s so smart, has learned all the basic commands...but leash walking is no fun. She’s super aware of everything, we have to stop and watch when the wind blows or when people walk by.

    • @presadentialcommander3649
      @presadentialcommander3649  3 года назад +3

      So Commander is still no angel on a leash so I feel you! We felt the same way. What we found is that utilizing a prong collar has been super effective. Also, doing daily drills. It's okay in our experience to give command overload for short 10 or 15 minute segments. Also don't let your Presa make ANY decisions. If they go left you take them right. If they pull forward you stop them for a sit. In due time they will understand all decisions come from you. It is a process but your consistency and commitment will prove successful!! Hope that helps!!

      Hi Cristina! Absolutely the prong collar has been super effective. I would recommend it. Also, doing daily drills. It's okay in our experience to give command overload for short 10 or 15 minute segments. Also don't let your Presa make ANY decisions. If they go left you take them right. Liked your video, new to your channel, would like to know what breeder you used, and costs of your breeder, I will say stable temperament calm demeanor in Presa Canario is the first trait that’s most important, I’ve seen other breeders all over this country who don’t have that calm stable temperament, you obviously found a good breeder, would like some info if you can.

    I got my presa canario at 6 weeks old in march 2023 she is now 9 weeks and she's BIG!! I am a first time dog owner and I love my dog I consider myself to be an excellent strong leader so will see how it goes but once she's fully vaccinated I'll also be putting her in training..
    No one really knows about this breed... everyone thinks she's a cane Corso... I'm going off of my own learning experience as well as reading up on this breed and watching videos as well as your videos...I have 4 babies youngest being 5 and she loves them again I'm learning as I go...I agree most videos and research doesn't say much about this breed being a family dog but I think if you get them young the entire family as well as the dog will adapt even though she's still a baby she's already protective...I think it has alot to do with their environment and their owner(s)

    The Perro De Presa Canario is still very much an inconsistent breed. Not saying this in a bad way... But the reality remains. Different lines of Presas are inclined to have different temperaments / characteristics.
    Potential buyers should ask about the lines and figure out what their parents / ancestors have been doing and are inclined to do.
    Results may vary - Presas can be great dogs, as well as liabilities.
