I would have killed to have this guide when I first started playing. When I think of how many fish I sold before I knew about perfect roe I want to shoot myself. Your guides keep new players from making the rookie mistakes all of us early players learned the hard way. Nice job.
Ouch I nearly cried there. So much gold given to strangers 😭 At least it was charity
@@areadhead What if he sold it to merchants? x(
@@kimnielsen8183 Oh no! 😭😱
Questing. The fact you can take quests involving NPC's or story events out-of-order. Like I was doing some quests and Lyris pops up and I'm like "I haven't rescued you yet!"
I will add to that, the dialog is the same for every player. Some argonian tells me "Go talk to this dark elf he doesn't trust argonians, let him show that we wanna help", I go to the dark elf "Hello traveler nice to see you, I don't trust those argonians with anything". I play argonian...
quick tip for the CP, you don't have to hit level 50 on alternate characters to access and use your champion points.
Most confusing thing for me when I was a new player was the guild trader system. The fact that the UI doesn’t auto populate with the guild trader’s stock was super confusing because I didn’t know what I was searching for, I just wanted to browse and see prices so I never used the “search” button.
Guild traders are very confusing. That was one I wanted on the list
@@Adam_Lutz if it werent for the massive goldsink that guild traders are, id say we need a grand exchange like runescape 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CreativeExcusesGaming I agree also. Guilds in general I don't know anything about. I haven't tried joining them yet. I would join a trading one but I hear you can get kicked out buy not doing specific things so I haven't explored this part of the game yet.
@@Cris1Mac i would personally recommend guilds run by youtubers, as they are more likely to be casual and chill. Arttea (an ESO economy and money making content creator) has a great guild called “Tamriel Trade Secrets” that i would definitely recommend, and you wont get kicked out of it
@@CreativeExcusesGaming Ok, thanks for the help and tip. I will try that. I am active and play everyday I just solo though. So that is the biggest problem for a guild.
Loving how you uploaded this 2 hours ago when I was JUST thinking of how damn confusing this game can be lmao
When you are new to ESO , just play ... and join a guild or two. You are allowed 5. So one guild in this one humble opinion should be a social guild ( some trading guilds are fairly social too ) so you can ask many questions. Asking in zone chat ( /z ) can sometimes gain answers, but do not hold your breath on that one )
in line with tempo and animation cancelling; its good to mention attack speed. Smashing the light attack button faster doesn't mean you will attack faster. That dictates your tempo more than anything
One thing that I found out really late is that if you put furniture in your bank or house chest storage you can place it directly into your house without getting it out. I had always put the items directly into one of the houses so I never realised. But I had believed nothing was accessibly from chest storage unless you went to it directly
Hello Brah, may I recommend you to NOT use addons while doing a "tutorial" video. It's enough that it might be a video full of new info but then also showing an UI that doesn't match the default one just adds another layer on confusion.
I agree here. When I started out I was checking some youtube vids and lost interest the moment the interface was different. I had no interest in addons at the time, I just wanted to learn some beginner tips.
THANK YOU! It’s so hard to try and relate what’s on my screen to this when they’re completely different. Makes you feel like you’re missing something and you just lose interest
I agree just because I’m on Xbox and watch ur vids cause they are mostly still valid
Are you in controller ? The layout is different from key Board found out when I switched everything was different
I think I had been very confused about about cancelling and I don't think anyone really had managed to explain it (I've watched lots of videos) so that it's clear. It makes no sense because people do explain but I think it's vague as they choose a skill they use which means nothing to a beginner if it's volley or something like that and you're mag. Like you need a personal demo or to just understand over time. But Xynode's How to get good series is really good to learn basic blocking and interrupting etc
Thanks for the vid. I had figured out pretty much everything except the sticker book and how it worked. Can't thank you enough for showing how it's done.
I'm very new to the game just got eso plus and us really enjoying the story and taking it all slow. And the best part is that I don't even feel the need to do it the best way or even the right way. The journey is just fun to experience. With that said, thanks for the video haha. Would like to see a part 2!
Sounds like you "got it going on". The only thing I might add is that if you haven't already, join a casual/ social guild. Great for getting answers to questions. And sometimes for getting help to kill a world boss or run a dungeon. A trading guild or two is a good idea for making money too.
I’ve recently just started ESO for the first time ever. Always looked into the game but finally went and got. Seeing how much there is to this game is overwhelming but extremely exciting as well, this video has been amazing and would love to see more like this! :)
How you doing in the game now? I brought it 3 days ago and love it
@@melodiasrojas8428 not too far into it, level 17 on my main character and started a fresh one with my friend. So far I’m loving everything about it, especially the zones with its different themes
@@FoxaLawt same the graphics are not the best but the art, lighting, and variety of the landscape is great
@@melodiasrojas8428 yeah this is true but understandable why they ain’t the best, considering how much stuff is actually within the game lol
@@FoxaLawt that's true
Thanks for doing what you do. My wife and I started playing a duo in ESO and your videos helped us jump in head first! =)
A "try these sets instead of the meta-sets vid" would be great. For just as you said: "Rele stacks an issue, try X. Siroria's requirement to get back to the circle in 4sec just one too many things to keep track of? Try Y," would be spectacular.
Ty for everything you do for the community dude. You’re a god send brah!! 😌🙏🙏
I have one to add. When you're in Cyro, the other two factions can't read your chat. So it's safe to call out for help and team up over chat. I was too scared to do this for far too long. Cyro is much more fun in groups. MmmKay?
I always wondered why chat was so comfortable giving away strategic info in chat. I eventually came to this conclusion alone but it's great to have confirmation.
As a new player... this game is very confusing. Ive never came from major mmo except swtor. I just like elderscrolls lore. This game kinda bums be on everyone being clones but the armor customization seems cool
I feel this. Started ESO bc I wanted to see new provinces and learn new lore. I have only played POE and oh man learning how to play eso feels like a chore
Can u craft items into set pieces? Cuz idk why I would craft gear if it doesn't contribute to a set perk. Am I misunderstanding something?
This video was confusing. I think I really got lost when he started talking Transmutations.
Because this video is garbage. It isn't for new players at all, it's more end-game.
@@johnnymartinjohansen I find that almost all the videos for ESO “beginners” on RUclips are for ppl who have at least 1000 hours and are building their 7th character. Adam seems super nice, but he’s speaking a foreign language to me.
@@mrXOwarrior Yeah, he seems nice, but some of his vidoes, especially when considering the titles, are bullshit. I bet you're not alone when calling this a "foregin language", because I'm quite sure this video isn't clearing up things for newbies, it's instead adding to the confusions. Which is a shame, because videos like these should draw more people into the game, not scarr them away.
My screen looks nothing like this
The only thing I would change about the crafting is when you get to the point where researching one trait takes 21 days... I don't know maybe cut that in half
Eso has the most brutal learning curve of any mmo i have ever played. They would have more population if eso has some more instruction on the 2000 systems in place. Love the game HATE the fact i have to watch hours and hours of youtube to understand how to play the fucking game. SMH
You never played Eve.
I learned through trial and error, no need to watch anything. I still do in orde to learn some advice and tips, but most I learned by trying.
@@Lupinemancer87 not everyone has that time tho
Obvously you haven't played any old-school MMOs, from the time when there were no youtube vids.
Okay so my only issue as I commented to another RUclipsr is that how’s anyone supposed to have these good builds if all we ever see is setups using stuff that we can’t get our hands on? Like every video I see is ohh well the gear you need is this or that like bruh I’m lucky to even have purple gear let alone gold bcuz for whatever reason I struggle to find materials .but like trial gear ffs on so many builds or gear no normal player has it’s always players that have it that are the higher levels.. where’s the setups for people who are new to the game or can’t find groups so they can only use what they have access too?
The set bonuses are more important than the quality. Going from blue to purple to gold is only small % increase. Get 2 5 piece bonuses 1st then go for easier to get monster sets (slimecraw, grothdarr, maw). Mothers sorrow from deshaan is a great starting set for mag dps and briarheart from wrothgar is good for stam dps. These sets are good because pre smart loot you could get guaranteed weapons from a quest in their respective areas. Dungeon sets can be farmed on normal to get blue versions. Gold armour and jewellery is not worth the cost when starting out but gold weapons can be. Back before the sticker book I would not even bother farming gear before CP160 because all gear lower than that is useless once you get there. Now you can start collecting straight away then reconstruct it when you get there. The more pieces of a set you have the cheaper it is. Most RUclipsrs will give alternate sets to use if you don't have access to the trial gear yet. Also join the discord and a crafter can make you some training gear.
@@notty8688 thankyou and I’m Cp 400 something it’s just me not having trial gear or struggeling with not having different things
If you mean videos by Alcast and so on, these are intended for people heavily invested into endgame-trials (vet-hardmodes and stuff). Gear is just a matter of days to them, but I agree those people usually don't really need those videos anyway. However, most of the written guides do present alternative gear that might not yield the same damage output but at least gives you a good starter or mid-tier setup to start running vet dungeons, vet harmode dungeons or normal/veteran raids (whithout hardmodes) and normal/vet solo arenas.
In regards to upgrading your gear from blue to yellow, while the difference may not sound that much, on all of the items it adds up notably. But only start upgrading stuff when you're CP160+. Sure, purple jewelry is more than enough, probably purple gear for the start as well but you should try to upgrade your weapon to golden once you decided on a set to go for as soon as possible as weapons yield the highest DPS upgrade when golden.
i missed his daily stream and i was going to ask a question I bought the "Abah's watch turban" and it was light blue so i bought some dye from the crown store which is also where i got the turban but i cant figure out how to dye it black it doesn't show up in the outfit station and its under collectibles in my inv pls help
You can dye costumes if you have eso plus.
@@andreassweet1994 so i can dye abahs watch turban if i get eso? plus (thx for replying)
And you need to be wearing it when you want to dye it.
@@andreassweet1994 ok thx
@@andreassweet1994 can u get eso plus dye it then cancel eso plus
I use a controller to play eso on my pc and so many times my bar swap does not work. There seems to be a large delay (lag) on bar swap or skill selection and I often hit the button twice thinking it has not registered and as a consequence I often run out of resources.
Story of my ESO life. I've been dealing with this from day one and have not found a solution.
@@wickedowitch1652 I thought it was just my bad internet, do you both have decent internet? I've tried animation canceling but either my internet is to slow to respond fast enough or it's a controller response issue.
Hi, Adam! Your videos are an ESO-life saver!!!
Anyone know what armour/costume he's wearing?
how did you change your inventory ui like that? what is the name of the addon? thank you
What’s that beat in the background ?
Thnx brah, i got this.
I'm new to MMOs what is animation canceling?
basically using your light attack, then right after using your "spammable" attack in quick succession kinda in a heartbeat rhythm, basically spammable attack right after your light attack cancels the animation allowing you to attack quicker! Sounds complicated but really easy to do with a bit of practice!
Yes to ESO plus! Literally a game changer.
Hey guys can someone help? His armor whats the name?
Why am I moving like molases when my opponents are using the speed force...😂
Small comment about CP. If you have a level 50+ that has already some CP, you automatically get them even if the alt is not 50... So you can have a level 1 with 3600 CP if you reach this on your main.
Another confusion thing is why do some players make so much more damage. And most of the time it's boiled down to using the right set.
And if you spend some time planning you can have 2 sets AND a monster helm and shoulders. ( To get all that will require more time for your first character though )
loved my short time playing. Wish the overland content was more challenging. Questing is just way to easy
Your series is a lifesaver for a newb coming over from New World
I've been playing for a year and I'm still confused about back bar versus main bar. Tool tip says, "when (whatever) is slotted, you get perk" but when I check character it's there, when I switch bars and check character again, buff is gone. If I slot something for buff, it should have effect no matter what bar is active No?. No videos out there with details about back bar / main bar dynamics.
Question about CP - can you have different CP distributions for each character?
Yes.
"now, say you're playing a stamina nightblade-" literally reading my mind I was just thinking about my stamblade lol tysm for your videos, Adam. I started playing in July and feel good about my learning curve. You're a big part of that. 🖤
This one makes ones way as a stamblade ... is there any other way?
Been playing ESO for several months and feeling like I might be done. Everything in this game feels like it revolves around crafting. Without being an ESO plus member the bag space that crafting requires is unmanageable. Really a bummer to not feel like you have enough bag space to play the game...
I've not got the plus but can craft everything except Nirnhoned swords, I created other characters to act as mules to get around the problem you mentioned. However saying this I'd never craft an armor set again, what the game gives is way better. I run 3 sets at once getting 3 bonuses during battle. Red Mountain set blasts a fireball off, Enbersheild creates a fire ring of damage around me as does the Grothgar mask and shoulder (a two set from doing undaunted tasks). Find a couple of areas that you like the armor perks from and grind till you have something nice to piece together. For some better items use activity finder and que to to random or specific dungeons and automatically linked with other players, you'll get good gear doing this 😁
Imho crafting is not necessary, there are gungeon and overland sets good or even better than crafting sets. Sure crafting is useful but I reached lvl 50/160 CP without crafting. I just bought or farmed gear I needed.
*Dungeon
@@lorgren4002 Crafting is as much essential as grinding out certain dungeons for certain sets. If you're not ESO+ and just have access to the base game and the free Imperial City DLC your options are rather limited in terms of what sets you actually can obtain. Usually it is better to go with a crafting set as you can obtain it much faster and the materials needed are not that much of a burden if you explicitly farm with a certain goal in mind and don't pick up more than you actually need. Sure, it requires a bit of discipline, but it is doable. If you're in a guild you might also take advantage of a user who has plenty of different attuned crafting tables in his house to even get access to sets which are usually locked behind DLC content you don't have yet access to.
ESO throws plenty of items at you. If you're not ESO+ subscribed than you learn rather quickly to not pick up everything. And one of the first things you clearly need to invest your gold into is upgrading your bags and bank space followed by leveling your mount. Don't do the mistake to buy one for 42k gold at the start as you get a horse at level 10 for free.
I actually have 10 accounts, 9 of which are non-ESO+ ones and I do play them actively for fun from time to time and I really rarely send mats to my main account or from my main account to the alt accounts. I primarily obtained the other accounts when ESO was at sale at a time when there were no currated item drops and set collections available in the game for roughly $7 per account, so the costs were rather managable. At least that allowed me to run 3 private guild banks with 500 additional storage space each and have lots of toons to store further items to if I really need it. The remaining two guilds are actually guilds I actively play with. Sure, its extreme though the costs were not that much of a concern as those 9 additional accounts cost less than half a year of ESO+ subscription on a single account, at least when ESO is at sale which is often enough during a year.
@@Kessra that was really useful information! Thank you!
Nice video but too PC specific.
Do some for the consoles
Man thank you 🙏🏽
I didn’t get a chance to check out your stream and thank you on there, the traits confuse me the most, trying to get my gear set divines is tough
Addddddaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmm!!!!!
Excellent video and very helpful, thank you!!
1:16 "crafting is a great system" - No my man, it is not. Why do I say this? Because crafting is directly tied to the transmog (to use a word from World of Warcraft) armor appearance and customization system. You are obligated to max level at least one character as a crafter or you are locked out of most of the appearance / customization options. That is NOT a great system.
Although some of the older styles require you to have high level of crafting to be able to learn it (e.g dwemer, celestial, primal, etc), all the newer styles can be learned as it is (e.g hollowjack, dremora, new moon priest, etc) meaning you dont have to spec into crafting. Just learn the styles and apply those new styles at the outfit station for some amount of gold. And if you are not going for the "grand master crafter" achievement, then feel free to learn all of those styles in any character and it will still be added to your outfit collection.
I actually don't really care about CP. It'.s too time consuming just I dump them randomly. I never liked that system. Also, I stopped trying to do animation cancelling a while back.
The Best RUclipsr ever
Cool
Coupled with lack of ah and research trimmers and empty giuld stores.... May be the worst crafting ecosystem in a mmo.... Or very close to.
Game editions like Collector 's vs Collection ...
So why are base materials so fucking expensive? Apart from that it's ok but not my favourite crafting system of all time.
Yeah but what constitutes Direct damage? I mean is AOE direct damage? It's not damage over time.
There is single target direct damage, single target damage overtime, aoe direct damage, and aoe damage over time. The really confusing ones are the aoe abilities that apply single target effects
@@CreativeExcusesGaming Exactly. For example some skills & gear sets have an initial attack, then follow with a lower damage over time attached. So to max the dmg done, I think you need to consider the Direct dmg bit first because it is higher , then consider do you need the dot buffed since it is lower? Backstabber is a great crit dmg boost IF you are flanking or behind an enemy, but what if you are using a ranged weapon and in front of it? Where are the monsters in a dungeon when you first meet them? How do you play the game? A one size fits all Meta build is not going to work for everyone all the time. I think this is confusing to newer players too.
Alcast has a spreadsheet showing what skills do what types of damage.
@@fireydog that would definitely all be confusing to new players. I think thats why champion points are unlocked like they are, so that new players dont get overwhelmed by the massive number of tweaks and choices
Anybody high level on Xbox that is willing to craft some stuff so I can do more research?
Team Damascus 🔥
Most confusing things in ESO:
How in-game capitalizm forces you to seek people in form of guilds, if you want access to Auction house or the "open market"... (irony in that would make even the sovjets smile).
How something as trivial and simple as Hairstyles, get taken out and in of rotation in the Crown-store, forcing the "exclusivity" stick, on something as mundane as HAIR!!!.
Who cares what hair people have, let people look good and how they want without this Price-gouging and "its excluive" when its just lazy...
How some *guilds* or groups of people on EU wants to make ESO into WoW.
Or bring the toxic Asmongoldian mentality into this game. (push those numbers... Dont die EVER in dungeon
aids.. or get Kicked\leavers, Il trade you what you need for your first-born and for DIBS the next 15 raids..).
When what made em quit wow, is that attitude...
How you need friends with ESO experience out the ,,, .
or masters degree in Googling, to figure out what endgame is, how it works and where to get gear to do it\be in it.
How the "spotted" bounty makes no sense, just a random amount tagged on for the lols..
One instance, if a Nobel sees you its 300g, if you pay it, leave come back 24 real-world hours later, do the same, its 30g...
Shouldnt it depends slightly on who, when and where?.. Maybe even what you are stealing.. And how much\little said npc cares..
How VAMPIRISM is SO forgotten and neglected... when its Older (in a way) and more established then the Lycan lore In ESO..
Making Vampirism just a Twilight gimmick, where you CAN be a vampire, but You will dodge everything from Sunlight to a lit candle... Cause FIRE... Bad. Period..
Unless you pvp, cause no candle, fire or sunlight there... But that just forces anyone with a Vampirism intrest into PVPing.. wich isnt very "open world...
ALL this being said, i still prefer ESO over WOW or FFXIV or TERA or any other MMo ouht there, i just think they should stop this half hearted, nonesensical stuff...
lmfao
I thought selling an item from a set you haven't owned didn't count it as collected?
It does! So does deconstructing it.
Nah most confusing thing ever, why is imperial race tied to a pre-order, confusing af
I'm confused too. I thought ESO was an RPG and MMO. Nope. Its a game where you endlessly search for game changing things even though you are so bored you could cry. Scrying for mythics, Psijic Skill line, Lore books? I think I'd rather throw my car keys into the woods and go search/scry for those. ESO isn't for console players.
I play it more on the console than I do pc! The ui is so much more simplified
Love it on my ps5 tho
I'm loving it and I'm a console player, it's my first MMO. Not all console players are casuals and get bored easy, I just prefer controller because it's more comfortable. I'm not very social so I'm avoiding things that need communication, I just play it like a single player game plenty, just with some things that require people like events and dungeons. You really can play it how you want, I'm just taking my time so I don't get bored of farming stuff, lore books I just find while questing and exploring.
i love it so far on console :)
This game is a mess… I enjoyed playing Skyrim..but this game is very difficult to understand
Most confusing thing to me is how people enjoy it. Keep trying to come back just revert back to skyrim
This isn't Skyrim Online. And yes, many of us DO enjoy it, even though you don't. Seems like the most confusing for you, is that people have different preferences/tastes.
ESO plus is more useful than shown.
Guild traders
How your group role works and why it's more important than the game shows initially
Everything else lol
And very easy to steal
This video is terrible. You're covering endgame stuff (CP, transmuting, top-tier crafting...), and that has NOTHING to do with NEW players' confusions, which are more low level stuff. And I'm pretty sure most new players (and even some veterans) doesn't even know that animation cancelling is a thing at all, so therefore there is no confusion.
And why the hell do you never talk about addons in these videos? Those are HUGE helpers for reducing confusions/annoyances.
Btw, my "most confusing" things when I was new, was stuff like guild trader / no auction house, how to spend those points when leveling (magica/stamina/health), which skill lines to choose from, etc.
lol crafting is confusing? you ppl never played other mmos? this is the most straightforward system I've seen...
Just think of what would happen when ZOS actually implement a system like in Guild Wars 2 where people would need to farm tons of materials to upgrade their gear and then need to wait several days to actually be able to complete the items or even throw tons of items in a well to get a chance to obain a precursor item needed to build a legendary artefact of it.
Just max every star
I love watching your video's but can you NOT run that same song for the background of EVERY video you do. Thanks
this guys content really going down hill
What? How so? I mean, there's nothing wrong with you expressing your opinion, but if you don't say WHY you think his content is going "downhill", then how will he know what the problem is? 🤔
Personally I usually enjoy his content, but I realize that not every video is going to be something I am interested in. (For example, I don't do PvP, so I won't watch videos on that topic.)
Excellent video and very helpful, thank you!!
