It started with a casual Instagram comment, and resulted in an amazing week onboard s/v Curiosity with Nikki and Jason from the truly fantastic RUclips channel, Gone With They Wynns (don't already watch it? You really should).
In this episode, the first in our series onboard Curiosity, we settle into life in French Polynesia and sail from Tahiti to Mo'orea, its neighbouring island.

Very good episode- well done for organising the clean up. We've been quite shocked and saddened by the amount of plastic in the Med. Great work for making a video about it.
@@sailingrubyrose After leaving Gib' we started picking up plastic with the net but around Motril we had 5 bin bags in the cockpit and were spending most of the day catching plastic fish for supper! Did you Know that the Med has 1% of the worlds salt water Ocean yet has 7% of its plastic? We got quite emotional about it and after talking to Mothership adrift. (Woody & Irenka). We did the East beach here with SV Sofia from Sweden. We decided on direct action. Our thoughts are, if we wait for the powers that be to actually do something other than pontificate, debate and set up committees it will be too late! Thanks for the support. Sail Safe! Ant & Cid xx

H.G. Wells eat your heart out . I ,knew ther e were a lot of cruisers (I follow 30 -40 channels) in or
around that area at the moment , so I felt it was inevitable SOMEBODY would meet up.
The Wynns seem to be really nice people, I'm sure , as an Engishman , it will take time to get up
to speed on their sense of humour . But , I did it on the one time I was in the USA, and I'm sure you
will have a blast with them

There you have it: the moment when they decided a catamaran is going to replace they beautiful monohull. Very happy for you! It is in my plans for my wife and I to start a similar journey in 10-15 years from now. We are currently working for this dream to become a reality.

Nick, on choosing a monohull or a cat. Being 70 years old. I'll tell you that the your not going
to be wanting to work hard at it at 55 or 60. So in the long run if you plan on sailing into your 50s
Then sail on your monohull now and then get a cat for your old age.

I swear. I've been following videos like this for a good while and and in all of them there seems to be more and more catamarans running around compared to mono-hulls. Is this a real trend or do videos just happen to catch the cats?
There are probably more sailing channels with monohulls. However 2 of the top 3 channels have cats.

When you two get your catamaran, we'd pay $1000 a day for a long weekend aboard Ruby Rose II somewhere tropical. It's what the cruise lines charge us. I'll add that to my bucket list, press on please.

Any video with Nikki and Jason is a plus in my book. Jason's early "How Not To" video's are what got me watching the Wynn's and after purchasing my own class A RV it was only natural to follow these two as they traveled around the country. Their epic move to the sea was an inspiration. Nikki is fearless (except for Taro plant as Jason said her Kryptonite) and Jason willing to try anything, a real adventurer. Now a new to me channel, Sailing Yacht Ruby Rose. Time for some binge watching to catch up. Till next time, Fair Winds and Following Seas.

To Date one of the most beautiful places I've been to is Bora Bora. It was one on my bucket list because of the name. That was 40 years ago, and needless to say it was a different place back then. 2 hotels and very little people. Seems like only yesterday I was kissing my wife in that beautiful lagoon!

Great video Ruby Rose. Two of my favorite sailing channels together! Glad Nick got the dinghy " that's what she said" joke straightened out. Now Nick has to explain to Jason about "bangers and mash," and "spotted dick."
The one thing about a cat, is if anybody has any mobility issues a cat would seem much more possible for family than a heeling monohull on a reach. The passageway ladder on a monohull would really seem insurmountable to some I’m thinking

I started following Jason and Nikki a few months ago, just got caught up with Sailing Zatara (who is on their way to French Polynesia . . . ahem Jason and Nikki), and now I'm going to have to start following Ruby Rose. Yes, you guys need a cat! No, I don't mean a feline, but yes, you'll need a couple of them too!
