Hey nate, if you do a fj cruiser transfercase swap and hardwire the front actuator you can slam it in 4 wheel drive 'manually'. The conversion is bolt on. Which would solve your abs issue and avoid being stuck in 2wd
This dude definitely seems like somebody I could be friends with. He seems very down to earth and has a great mindset about everything. Keep up the good work man. I look forward to seeing your future videos.
No need to apologize for taking a bit of time to take a breath! You need to keep it all in balance while you build Your business. If you don’t take any downtime and keep burning the candle on both ends you will melt down… and we don’t want that! Congrats on the Taco it’s pretty awesome…
When using a resistor to mimic the stock locker, start with a larger value to minimize the current and step down as needed to get the light to turn off. You can likely drive a relay from the connector to run the air solenoid and trigger the locker light on the dash also.
Driving the air solenoid for the rear locker with the stock locker circuit is a great idea! It might even be enough to fool the computer into thinking the locker is still connected.
@@dang5351 The connector to the diff is likely 4 wires which have 2 for the locker solenoid/electromagnet and 2 for a limit switch that tells the control module if it is engaged. I have not worked on the new Tacoma but I believe this is how the older ones work.
Nate, your Toyota IFS rig is an extremely well built, bad ass truck. You’re a talented builder. thank you for commenting on wheeling wide and long, I've been thinking about getting a full-size and wasn't sure about wheeling such a big truck, now I'm more confident about getting something bigger!

Glad you talked about the increased track width. I'm only going 4" wider, not 7"...though I could go to 8" (not going to). I guess I'll also be using a wider tire, so will probably be a bit more than 4" total increase. I assume its because it looks up the state of the switch on ignition and then does not let you change it if the wheel speed is in error/unknown.
Quick comment about your comment on abs sensors and 4wd. The way to get around that would be just to get rid of the factory electric tcase. I have a fj cruiser tcase in my Tacoma which is a manual tcase. Never had an issue with it and no lights on dash. All you have to do it’s wire lights coming off tcase to dash to trigger 4wd light on dash. You don’t have to worry about your truck not wanting to go in 4wd.

Don’t lie, it’s because MORR uses the milestars on all his vehicles 😂 this is such a great looking truck, fantastic build and thanks for all the updates with the new IFS. Cheers!
If you just need to cover the wheels for legal/crud getting thrown up reasons, get some rubber sheets from the hardware store like you'd use for lining stairs or shelves. Figure out how to attach them to the inside of the original width fenders so they stick out over the wheels. You can remove them for off-roading or just let them flex. Stance looks great, so much clearance up front with IFS. The widebody fenders look factory because they kept the original lines.
My buddy Kitt just did this kit and we had an opportunity to measure the width against my '18 Ram 3500 with 4-link and 38x13.50x18s. His RCLT equipped Tacoma is 2" wider then mine. Unreal. Great build, Nate and I'd love to check it out in person someday on the trail. 👍

It’s a cool looking truck. You did a really good job with it. It’s not entirely my taste. But it’s still cool. I just hope you put this much love into the rebuild of the Jeep, because that’s the reason I was here in the first place. The builds, the fabrication, the adventures, and you as a person in general is what has kept me. But it’s still the Jeep that brought me here 😁
Have you thought about a 07+ Tundra rear end? 10.5 inch ring gear, ARB is available and I bet the ABS sensors would be very similar or are interchangeable. Not 100% sure but could be something to look into.
The dash lights sounds familiar to my '11 Frontier pro 4x. The rear e-locker, abs sensors and 4wd are all intertwined. I had to re-pin my transfer case harness to get 4wd to work again for the snow. Could check out what people have done for the OEM locker delete/override? Not saying identical systems, just a thought. You did a killer job my dude!
That resistor will work I had to do it with my air ride that I deleted on my truck. Installed a resistor at each shock location and the computer was fooled to think it had the right resistance. I'm not a mechanic but I am a electrician and as long as the computer sees a certain resistance at that location then it thinks everything is good to go. Just make sure you use some shrink tube or place in location it doesn't get road grime etc. Good luck if you have anymore ?s let me know
Nate- great job on the build. Don’t worry about the camera footage. After that many long days, anyone should understand about having to recharge the soul. There’s plenty of time to get footage of that monster off-roading. Have fun and we’ll see you on the next one.

Not 100% sure but could be something to look into.
can't wait to see that flatbed!
The gap under the rear lights needs filling with something to tidy it up.
Tray back like the Aussies use to tour and beat on.
Good luck if you have anymore ?s let me know
Thanks man, I'm going to order a resister today! All my adjustable resisters do go low enough unfortunately...
Anytime brother you should be able to find them easy and then solder it up

Nate- great job on the build. Don’t worry about the camera footage. After that many long days, anyone should understand about having to recharge the soul. There’s plenty of time to get footage of that monster off-roading. Have fun and we’ll see you on the next one.
