I hope you and your family are safe from that hurricane heading towards you guys. Loved this one. Reminds me of a TVR Color. Very expensive supercar with a crazy colorshift. I can't rate it because its something you'd have to see in person to really appreciate it.
Every time you make me want to change my car color lol I’ve been thinking which one to go with. Originally it was Smoked Grey but this color shift is amazing!! I’m a try to paint it on a test piece 😎
LOL, the thing I don't like about color shifts is that it goes from a color I like thru a color I don't like to get to another color I do like. there are about 4 colors in that I like a lot but it goes from like a beautiful red to a brown to the green. Of course it is just my personal preference and this is just me and what I like. And as usual you laid it on like glass, Nice job John.
I definitely agree with you I try to keep it interesting and showcase a little bit of everything on the channel for everybody but if there's anything you can ever think of you want to see combination wise feel free to shout it out and I'll do what I can lol Thanks for always watching
Hey Whitley, I love your videos, thanks for the hard work. That Tanuki pigment is cool, in the future could you try it over a red base? My car is red and I'm struggling to find an effect that suits me. Thanks for your time!
Yeah I have a lot of spray outs over red really just depends on what you're looking for Gold looks really cool over red Check out some of my other videos with red Thanks for watching man
5. That is an insane amount color! So how long do you wait between coats of each? If you did a video on this I would like to see it. Really enjoy your channel!
First of all you have fantastic content 👍🏼 I also subscribed 👍🏼 I wanted to ask you I have a set of expensive speakers I would like to paint in Tanuki color. Question is it possible being that the speaker cases are already gloss black and cleared , can I just scuff them say with 2000 grit sandpaper till they are evenly scuffed flat , then can I just reclear them with the Tanuki ? I think that’s the same as pre paint in black then clear ? What is your thoughts . Please let me know if that would work ? Thanks much , now to check out another one of your videos 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Best way to do it is to wet sand lightly with 600 grit and then you can apply the Tanuki you need the heavier grit so that the new clear will bond correctly I appreciate you subscribing and if you have any other questions feel free to reach out anytime thanks for watching!

I see you have used a lot of different clears throughout your videos and was wondering what you recommend out of everything you have tried, also what primer do you recommend just ordered 30 grams of saiko color shift and getting the rest of my supplies ready, also in your video using that ultra shift what is your mix ratio for a gallon using ultra shift?
I typically use the Speedokote 2k urethane clear coat hear lately it's a great clear works very well with Rustoleum so I recommend that and as far as primers go most every primer I've used works fine with Rustoleum paint so that's really up to your preference I know alot of ppl complain about Rustoleum primers not sanding well I use a lot of nason primers cause I work at a napa paint store. Typically I do 50g to a gallon but 30g should work fine as well you might just have to do one extra coat. Let me know if you have any other questions and Thanks for watching
@@WHITLEYAUTOWORKS does it matter what version of their clear coat I see they have a couple kinds I was looking at the high solids don’t know if it’s worth the extra money or not

Quarter panel must have 1/4" of some fine looking paint on it. Absolutely worth the Subscription. This Tanuki gets a 5 star rating. Dont like the color. move sideways n look again.
Ultra shift pearls are the high-end of pearls they have extreme color shifts to them shifting multiple colors and it's just overall a more expensive pigment in general but there are many other options if you're just looking for certain colors in the regular color shifts I try to showcase a little bit of everything for everyone.
I definitely understand it's not a color for everybody but I love to showcase new and interesting stuff next video will be a little more reserved Thanks for watching

That reddish, pinkish, purple at 5 mins in is fire. That color on a nissan hardbody would pop. Nice work as usual, brother john! 5/5 👍🏾
Wow!! That’s the color to use if you can’t decide what color you want. It gives it all. Very cool. Definitely a 5
That is the wildest color shift ever, I’m inspired !
Just the coolest, most interesting color! I am seriously thinking about painting my tractor this color. 5/5 Thanks!

I'd say this is a 5 for sure. I'd love to see the way this looks over Rustoleum Magenta. Just to be different. Good video

How much pigment would it take to use on a 84 corvette? Thanks for the ideas. Eye candy is killing it and I will use your links.
50 g to a gallon has always been the go-to pigment load let me know if you have any other questions Thanks for watching
@@WHITLEYAUTOWORKS great start. For the Ultrashifts you could get away with 25 grams per gallon. ;)
it cool but I would see if they have one with higher blue instead purple
also how much grams would you buy to do whole truck 4 door f150 5-5 bed
@fred42 typically I do 50 g to a gallon and you could probably stretch that out to a gallon and a half to do on a truck full size Thanks for watching
