The rust oleum cures by oxidation- it needs exposure to the air to cure and harden, as opposed to urethane base coat, which is as hard as it gets as soon as the solvent flashes off. By clear coating over it, its not getting the oxygen it needs and it will stay soft. I would give the paint at least a few days before clearing over it, even if you add a hardener. If the paint is only tacky, it hasn't even started to cure, it just flashed off the solvent.

I'm glad you did this video. I think they all have their place in this arena. Truth be told i think personal preference will be the deciding factor but it made a video like this very necessary. Great job. Also, it's super classy that eye candies owners commented with humility and graciousness. Really awesome of them. Rolio kinda surprised me in a good way. That being said they have their place and is love to see more videos with their products. Eye candy, you guys are outstanding. I'd love to hear from a KP rep but tool then, keep up the good work

I think a whole car painted like this with a little orange base between the black and yellow would look really nice.

As I a guy. That has been raised in paint and body and 15+ years experience. I do not and will not ever condone ever using rattle can primers. Ever.... waste of time and money. Upol 2253 high build I use for everything l. Less than $100 for a gallon my cost. And for clear. Use the upol up2802. It's $160ish.. it's 2:1 high solids. You will be glad you spent the more money on the clear is it's thicker and won't need redone in 2 Years for flaking. If you also want all your body work sealed good before paint I use a $100 1:1 epoxy primer mixed 4:1:2.5 for a epoxy sealer that has never bubbled on me. I need to start videos but I don't. Painting a 92 chevy truck at my house rn. We'll wet sanding with 600 for a touch up and flow coat the clear. I'm ocd af.

Would this pearl work over duplicolor spray system quarts of paint?

Not really a fan of yellow so I’m going to give it a 1. Might be a little different at night or with lower lighting. Over the black looked kinda neat though I think it is a little dark for a gold. Might look a bit better over a brown or a blue. So for the black I’m giving it a 3. Again, Johnathan, thank you for doing these videos. I really enjoy seeing what you are doing with the different colors and the different pearls. I hope you reach your goal and even more.

Love these tests you do Jonathon. For the sake of the test I give it 5 but for colors a 5 on the yellow and maybe a 3 on the black. I bet it’d be pretty on a brown.

Enjoyed your simplicity in projects. My request is for my 1976 outboard boat, which is an ugly oxidized light green. I would like you to sample a fiberglass body sample of rustoleum with large metal flakes for the boat look and finish. Would you possibly be willing to video such a project??? Thanks

That yellow looks like Sun Fire, I think it would have looked good over a brown or tan rather than black. Good job John.

Gt's Performance uses the Eye Candy a lot. They seem to have a lot of good colors. They have another Gold, Kin Gold, it looks good also.

That yellow is absolute fire for sure. A definite 5. I've been toying with flipping cars and I have an Acura Integra 4 light in my sights. I think this yellow would go well over it. Great video boss man! Lovin these sprayouts
